Just wanted to say THANK YOU very, very much for be willing to share your knowledge. I realize it must take quite a bit of time and effort to do so and I sincerely appreciate it for a few reasons. Not only do you provide me with some education in an extremely well done format that is very fun to watch, but you also have given me a great amount of inspiration. I am a 61 year old guy that just completed radiation treatment for throat cancer. throughout this ordeal I have been watching UA-cam videos to keep my mind off the negative crap. (Yours are by far the best!) They are a great diversion and also gives me the inspiration to look forward to getting my butt back to life. And when I can afford it, I'm going to do just that. While I am up and out doing that, I will again be thanking you. Please keep up the great job/service.
Keep your eye on the end goal and you will get there! 40 years ago I was run over by a car. They said I would never walk again. It took me 5 years in a wheel chair, but I had made up my mine that I'm going to walk. It still hurts a bit, but I'm still hiking in my beloved high Sierra's.
@@TwoToes~Gary, you and Jeff inspire me to try.. that was before hearing the above story....'
I figure that if you two can do it... my old decrepit, half paralized arse can too... thanks for sharing. I'm a youngster at 60, so good on you mate and a howdy to our Auzzie mates
Been watching for years and have learned a lot..... Greetings from the Rouge River area, Gold Hill Mining District🤗 ⛏⚒⛏ State of Jefferson XX~ Pete
Hi, I CANT BELEAVE I FOUND SOMEONE BY READING COMMENT, THAT WENT THROUGH WHAT YOU DID AND NOW WE ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME EXACT THING, THROAT CANCER I SEE IT WASC3 YRS AGO, I HOPE YOU ARE WELL, AND BEAT IT, JUST A FRIENDLY PERSON ON THE NET✌
@jimpullman-sr2525
Back when I lived in the Placerville area, I got into prospecting with a detector. My partner and I would get the topo maps from the USGS and find all the old gold mines from the gold rush days. 99.999% of the time, the old timers were following a gold bearing seam of quartz. When the seam ended, they'd move on and go dig another tunnel somewhere else. Getting in there with a detector, hitting the walls and ceiling and floor of the old mines, really paid off in a good way. A lot of times where they stopped, the seam would start back up again in a few inches or so. Two guys working on sledgehammers though could get back into that quartz. Milky white quartz, and a beautiful streak of color through it was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. Even better looking than my ex wife! And she was a hottie! Everyone thought so ;) Bob in Germany
I'm from tahoe and plan on getting down there this spring. Should be good with the wet winter we are having.
😊
Do you have a picture of your ex wife? Just kidding. Do you have GPS coordinates of the gold seam? Kidding again!
3 things I liked the most in this video. Your Gold. Your Talent and mostly Your Mustache !!
Thank you! Unfortunately I am in Missouri.
Lol. Love this!
Ive watched this video awhile back and I must say, the excitement is still there. That was a killer day! Im not sure how you keep your cool when you find a nugget.. I freak out! Then fall. Haha
PioneerPauly, your you tube channel is another one of my favorites!! ✌️
hahahaha freak out and then fall!! OMG I thought I was the only one that did that !! I have scars on my legs I've carried for decades now from skinning my shins on the granite of the HighSierras in Northern California. You know as I think about it, I fall over a lot.... Bob in Germany
I would also do a gold dance finding those nuggets. A fall down dance is called a Kukufa. Pauly might drop his phone once in a while, but keeps a firm grip on his gold.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one that does that Pauly.
Hey Two Toes! Wanted to thank you for the timely method of searching for nuggets with a detector. My dad an I have saved HOURS doing this method instead of panning. We haven’t found any gold yet, but have found some old (probably not worth anything) items that got us just as excited. Keep up the awesome videos, and get yourself an Instagram!!!
I just read in the comments below talking about using headphones while detecting and how it can make you ignore some of the dangers of the wildlife. Here in Arizona I've run across a lot of rattlesnakes, the best investment I've ever made in my life was $150 for a pair of full snake boots. Everyone have fun but keep aware of your surroundings out there.
This is where a vacuum would really come in handy. Remember, just because the metal detector doesn't detect anything doses't mean that there isn't a bunch of small gold in there. The vacuum can pull out stuff that's hard to get out with the other tools. This was a fantastic video showing the potential of both using a good metal detector and working the crevices. Really good teaching video. Thanks for sharing.
this technique really helps understanding where and how to find gold..
most people hit "inside bends", follow traditional rules for it, but doing it this way, it teaches you the "high pressure" zones also.. it absolutely blew my mind figuring this out.. where I believe (if in a narrow valley) the gold gets pressure packed into the crevices on spots you'd never think following traditional rules..
cheers mate.. wish I could send you my finds..
infact I can confidently say..
if a person who has NO experience finding gold and watches your channel... gaurenteed if they soak in the info... THEY WILL FIND GOLD! No matter what country.. !
cheers mate !
It's good to see how a talented treasure hunter does it ! I learned A LOT
Thank you !
Thank you very much, you are too kind!
Nice to see an expert,at work.even the hike was very enjoyable,LONG LIFE.
zing913945 no pinpointer?
I hope in 4 J. You learn more 😂
I just watched this for the second time and I can tell you it's worth seeing again. Gary has so much knowledge that I can always learn something new.
Perhaps the most instructive practical video I have viewed! Thanks so much! I wish I could meet you in person; you are a great guy! Congrats on your great finds of this hunt! Bless you and even more gold luck in your hunting!
Great day Gary. I enjoy watching you hunt because you're always teaching along the way. Thanks for sharing your time and expertise.
This is an excellent instructional video! You cover many important details to make nugget shooting as successful as possible. I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the expert teaching. Thank You, Sir!
Hey Gary, Well your recommendation to dig every target has rewarded a buddy of mine down here in So Cal. It took me a couple months to get him start watching your channel, but he finally did. And he started going by the advice you give..dig every target..well he dug up a hot rock that was reading iron on his detector. It was about a foot under the sand in one of our favorite little creeks..a thirteen pound meteorite! It's off to be analyzed by a reputable scientist. I'll try to get him to send you some pics when he gets it back. Thanks for all you do to inspire us man!
Two Toes, it's clear from looking at your hands and listening to you teach that you work hard and smart.
He found enough gold for a manicure!
It’s good to see Two Toes again. Love all your videos. Thank you.
I think I've gone through and watched every video on prospecting you have! The knowledge you have accrued and distilled into these videos is invaluable! Keep it up mate - this is the most underrated prospecting channel on UA-cam - Fan from Aussie.
You are too kind - glade you enjoy them. Thanks - Gary
This is my first video yours that I have watched and I really liked it
Amazingly awesome hunt Gary! Thanks for sharing. 🤘👊👍
Thanks for taking the time to explain in ways that even newbies will understand. It certainly makes people want to get out there and explore for the gold. Have safe travels, but watch out for snakes and spiders in the cracks and rocks.
My son and I have just been starting to have fun with metal detectors and panning. We found some pretty good rocks that need to be crushed. He opened a fortune cookie that said he was going to find a "pile of gold next week..." Nice omen!!! Thanks for a really educational video. We look forward to learning more from you, as we go along.
I sure hope he finds that pile of gold! As long as your having fun, even a small pile will do. Thanks - Gary
Man, I don't know how people can dislike this video! You got some good gold. Very helpful about the angle of the detector, too. Thanks
Thank you for taking me along for the ride. Great video!
Finding gold, and seeing others find gold never gets old. I still get out sometimes with my 20 year old White's Gold Master 4B, which is still in very good shape after all these years. I've got a few new areas I'm fixing to get out and prospect. Your videos have rekindled my gold fever! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, techniques and finds. Cheers from Washington!
I'm in washington too and have a detector. What areas are you working?
It is a good thing sharing with you the wilderness and the excitement of your gold findings...thanks!
Thank you very much
I'm sure you already know this but you are an excellent teacher, a real natural. I just started getting into this and have been watching everyone's videos and yours are the best. Thanks!
Another great video with detailed instruction! Thank you Im learning so much!
Mr two toes, THANK YOU.
I love outdoors and all activities that go with it with a passion and gold panning is one of them but I just know the very basics. I still have a lot to learn but this here is, if not the most, at least one of most entertaining and most informative videos that I have watched since UA-cam was invented. And yes, I’m that old.
I’m subscribed to many channels in different topics but for some reason I never click the notifications button this is gonna be the ONLY exemption.
I sincerely THANK YOU and keep the videos coming.
I’m gonna subscribe, like, share the video and click the notifications button right away.
Thanks again Two Toes, for sharing your vast knowledge with the rest of us, hoping to find gold nuggets ! I look forward to trying what you teach within your great metal detecting video !! Thanks again !!!!
You are too kind, Thank you vey much
love the video its been a rough season here in north california. this video is what i needed to give me a little burst of gold digging energy. thank you sir. keep up the great videos. liked and subbed
I have to say, I love your attitude on life, it was awesome to watch this video and I loved watching
Wonderful to see you at work. I thank you and wish you the best of luck
Pretty useful video! Keep it up man! You rock!
I really enjoy gold prospecting (Panning, sluicing, crevicing) no matter how much gold I find. Just got myself a metal detector.
Thank you ! You're very nice and down to earth and a straight shooter ! All my love and respect ! Michael.
You make the best instructional videos. I head up to downieville the end of the week, can't wait to try your techniques.
Good luck and thank you for the support!
I want to thank you for sharing your experience and expertise. I procpected with my grandfather when I was a kid. I'm 70, but in good shape. Want to do this bad. Didn't pay attention as a kid,but I'll tell you, your great! You didn't have to do this, but so glad you did. Again, thanks
Nice lil find there buddy. Thank you for sharing , I learned some valuable info and enjoyed watching. Good luck in finding the mother load of gold
Great Video, Now I am a beginner, and I bought 200 dollar metal detector, found my share of Lincoln’s and Roosevelt dimes, now I went to the first river. There was a sign that says no Dredging, shoes off with my bucket, and took a soil sample, it’s hasn’t been panned yet, but I am going back this time with the detector. I am trying to learn everything.
The pieces Gary throws back is bigger than anything I've seen.
I'm so envious! What a lovely way to spend a day, treasure hunting in such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Absolutely loved your outlook on the day. Great video,. Cheers John
i like this method your doing, its the best ive seen for metal detecting along the river. nice.
Fantastic videos, all of them. You take the time to explain the meaningful processes behind the fun. Thank you!
Thank you very much.
I would totally go out there with you one day and hunt for gold. I love going to the hills.
That's one heck of a day. A belated congrats, a video to be proud of for sure.
we love your show every time you find gold were happy for you!
Another great video Mr. Honan. And I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you very much.
This is the second time watching this video.lots of great pointers and tips to take to the hills.I must say I had not gave White's detectors much notice using a gpx series Minelab but whites was recently advertising a TDI SL special edition for Prospectors . That's a pulse induction unit for around $1,000 I just got mine took it out yesterday let me say I am impressed ! Very simple to operate very sensitive I picked up some small targets pretty deep in hot ground I love it! And it's such a refreshing change having an external speaker and not a bunch of wires coming out of everywhere 😂 I am now giving White's detectors a lot of attention and High Praise they are a lot of bang for the buck..😍
That's great to hear! I have tested the new TDI on the bench, but have not done a field test. I'm glad to hear they work good in the field.
Great job on the video and, of course, on finding all of that beautiful gold!
very informative, and appreciate you taking time to explain the process !
appreciate all the knowledge shared. amazing finds.
Awesome video loaded with helpful tidbits of seasoned knowledge! From one Gary to another, I thank you for your time and effort! I've got my Garrett detector in Japan and am looking forward to exploring the many rivers surrounding Mt. Fuji and Toi, Izu where there was a full scale gold mine many years ago!. Don't know if I'll find anything but it'll be fun to try!! Cheers!!
This is a great video, thanks for sharing your experience and experiences.
Hey i love your video you have inspired me to look for my own treasures! I have yet to find anything as the weather is terrible but i will keep you posted
You have a lot of knowledge and a nice style of presentation. Good vid!!
I have a mid-range Fisher and have prowled around California and Italy - lots of bronze, copper, & silver artifacts there.
One hell of a day out in the battleground, nice Pan of gold in the end, what else can you ask for, but a repeat on your next hunt, may the gold Gods keep on shining that beautifull metal upon you. Subed. Gl and hh.
Thank you very much
I learned a lot from your video and appreciate all the tips. Thanks Gary from New Zealand.
this was a heck of a good day for you! enjoyed watching!
Thanks for the knowledge two toes ! Stay safe out there !
You inspired me to metal detect for gold!
Much appreciated😎👍
nice video, one day it'll be my turn to find my first gold nugget, it'll be a lot nicer than buying one from the jewelry store. it's a lot like hunting for Wild game, you catch it you thank God for it, you butcher it and you take it home, it always make you feel like you deserve it because you worked for it. the blessed raw gifts that you get from nature no one can take away!!!
Can anyone tell that the landscape has been stripped mined with bigger machines than we have now or thenceforth
another wow !!! that was one of the best vids i've seen...learned so much !!! gonna watch it again !!!
Thank you very much!
agreed Billy
What river , ole buddy?? I read lower. North Cal?

Very nice video. You are a good teacher. I learned a lot. I live in Massachusetts where there is not even any placer gold, so it was interesting to see something that is not done in this state.
That was a very nice day you had Two Toes. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome. Thank you for an amazingly informative session. So pleased for you getting that gold, well done.

Great video Dan keep up the good work.
Excellent video..thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Excellent video Gary, thanks again....!
One of my favorite tools is a silicon camping food bowl. I use it like the pan to brush dirt in to. The nice thing is I can shove it into a crevice to get all the dirt I can.
A fun and informative video. Thanks for sharing.
Watching your videos is giving me gold fever. I'm getting my ass out there and panning for some gold this summer.
Pretty good actual treasure hunting video. Thanks for sharing your time and technique how to do metal detector for gold hunting. take care pal.
I could watch you clean out crevices all day long. You're so dreamy. Bahahaha! It is so satisfying. I watch others but so often they don't actually show the scratching. That is the part I like the most.
This is very helpful, like all your videos. Thanks!
very informative, much knowledge gained here thx! I watch all your upload's.
Thanks for the very good video. I'm really glad you found some nice nuggets!
Wow excellent video, nice clean up, I'll be waiting for the next video keep up the good work thank you
Gary, I must agree with you that this was also my all time favorite video ! I have the same detector and coil as you use in your video and with you showing your hands-on experience, gives me hope that I can someday find nuggets as well !!! Thanks again for sharing your vast knowledge !!!! ( Keep on doing the GOLD metal detecting videos .... )
I'm have plans in the next week or two showing just how I set and use my TDI and Goldmaster detectors.

Great instructional content at 5 minutes. Thumbs up. 👍
Great video and nice to see how it’s done!
Thanks for sharing your adventures gold hunting.
Loved your video. You're right about any day being a good day if you can be out in air panning for gold. I love those days and am like a little kid, "but why do I have to go inside? I'm not done playing!", Lol.
A 2 hour hike? Wow. That is huge. Good on you Gary.
That 3rd crevice just didnt't PAN out! lol Thank you for this video! I learned a lot.
Nice to see you and your video. I enjoy your videos. Informative and easy to listen too. Thks.
OUTSTANDING FIND‼️
Really good instruction. Thank you.
Wow! When you pulled out that first nugget, I couldn't believe my eyes! Man your videos are so cool. I really appreciate what you do! Thanks for the education and the vicarious experience.
I was doing the same wow! Finding a nugget on your first target makes for a good day!. Thank you for the support.
I've never done any real prospecting, not yet, but I think I'm ready to take a shot. Thanks for the greet info :)
It's great to see such amazing finds. Watching these poor guys getting happy finding flour gold then you tossing back what they would consider pickers is jarring. I guess it's relative.. Great channel! Very informative! 😉
