High EMS + Destroy is the only way to go during a Tali playthrough. Sorry Geth and EDI, but that's the one time Commander Shepard gets to be selfish.
Zapphoman Technically, he isn't being selfish, unless he somehow looks into the future to know that he's gonna live. He thinks that he's going to die after he sets off the Crucible, but he doesn't, which is fortunate.
Technically, the Geth and Edi weren't really alive to begin with. Not by our traditional definition of life anyway. Atleast, this is what I tell myself so that I don't have to agonize over this choice.
@@viysnjor4811 It depends. The reapers we see in the final cut scene were not really physically destroyed. They just kinda stopped. That seems to me that they weren't really destroyed so much as their 'consciousness' were snuffed out. We can only assume that the same happened to all other AI in the galaxy. Unless they had back ups that somehow survived the catalyst, I am not sure you can just rebuild EDI or the geths 'consciousness" from scratch. Even if you could, I am not sure it would really even be EDI anymore.
@@cptndunsel2670 I find it hard to believe that the crucible can tell the difference between a self aware AI and a normal computer, the latter of which were not destroyed, ergo I subscribe to the assumption that it only destroys reaper code. Reapers are fully built on reaper code, so they are screwed, but EDI was only partially based on reaper code, and the Geth could be restored to their pre-reaper code state
I'm not kidding when I say this, and I am fully aware of how pathetic/sad it sounds: For a while, I was literally in love with Tali. Not my Shepard: ME. She's a very likeable character, so much that I managed to fall in love with her. She's basically the reason I ended up forsaking the Geth and EDI so that Shepard could live... :(
i know that feel bro....she is just so lovable. she is the most adorable sweet character in the series imo. if she was real i would marry her in a heartbeat lol
You and me both brother. I remember hearing those four words over and over while the feeling of failure sunk in when I realized that no matter what ending I chose, I wasnt going to be able to get her the one thing she asked for... Goddamned writers made a great job there.
Mike MA Imagine this... after the memorial scene, and after the credits roll, you see Tali, heartbroken as she walks through the quarters of her captain, her friend, her lover. Her hand brushes across Shepard's desk, and tears fall from her cheeks as she sees a photo. In it, the man she loved embraces her tightly, and all traces of stress and worry were vanished from his face. Her eyes catch something tucked behind the photo stand. A velvet box, wrapped with a purple ribbon. She picks it up, the tape falling away at her touch. She opens the box, and inside it she finds... a ring. A simple gold band, the phrase "I will always come back to you." embossed on the inside. A sob hits her square in the stomach, and she collapses to the floor, her arms wrapped tightly around herself as the pain of loss consumes her. "I just wanted... more time..." She whispers between soft cries. "I just wanted more time."
i feel you there. i would have loved if they at least just showed him with his back to us walking off somewhere, like...him taking a breath in the rubble was a start....but dammit just go that little extra mile lol
MaRaX93 while i agree with EDI, i care far less about the geth. does it make it right? not really but honestly in my ending anyway i wasnt able to save both the quarians and the geth. and you better believe i wasnt letting the quarians die even IF they started the whole mess lol
well the geth are proven to be sentient intelligent being, so your point is invalid. in either case it's just a game. my 2 cents though, you are committing genocide with the destroy option no matter if you "care far less" about it
I was ready to die on this mission if it meant for everyone to survive. But after this scene i just couldnt anymore. You just cant. God this game was great. Finished MELE two days ago, still healing from the endings.
Tali was my love interest, and I went into this mission with Garrus and her. Thankfully, they both survived. I guess what I'm most upset about is the fact that she told Shepard to come back to her, but BioWare gave us a big ol' fuck you and now, well... We don't know. She probably lives alone in the house she built on Rannoch, waiting each day that Shepard might come back. Really wish they had given a more satisfactory ending, one that guaranteed Shepard came back for her. Because GOD FUCKING DAMMIT TALI I LOVE YOU (my Shepard does, at least).
If you picked Destroy, he likely made it. I don't think Bioware went through the (miniscule) effort of rendering that last bit just to go "lol jk he dead son"
I mean, yeah, I got that ending as well, but it isn't NEAR satisfactory enough to warrant my immediate assurance that he does. I wanted to see it happen for myself.
Jericho00003 Yeah, I just wish they had added a picture in the slideshow, perhaps after the whole "grandpa" part where he says "one more story" and it shows Shepard and Tali on Rannoch, maybe looking out at the sunrise holding hands or something. I don't know, maybe someone should add that as a mod to the PC version. I'm okay with how it is now, but I'd be ELATED if that was included (and other, similar pics with the other LIs)!
That would have been astounding, or maybe perhaps just a very short clip. Picture would probably be better. They did make a happy ending mod on the PC version, though, so if you wanted to see that its on UA-cam.
Jericho00003 I have seen the MEHEM. It's not bad at all, though it sucks the character model for Shepard during the memorial wall scene is feminine, meaning that he walks funny when he goes to and from the wall, lol. But part of me wishes THAT could have been a canon ending, perhaps if our EMS was high enough or something like that. I get some people like dark, tragic endings (and in some cases, they work well), but I say let those of us who wants a brighter ending for once get that option as well. That way, we're all happy.
So Shepard always talks about building a home on Rannoch with Tali, and then he mispronounces Rannoch? What the fuck? I mean, it's like me talking about how much I love my home planet Eearrthe.
Tali is a girl I would actually date if she was real. Really who doesn't love Tali? She has a beautiful face and voice, and she's not as overrated as Liara. Besides, Quarians look human without their masks. So hopefully Earth will allow humans to have relationships with other aliens like they do in the Mass Effect Universe. Tali you will always be dear to me, and there is no way I'll let the Geth ruin your race. If I can't make peace I'd rather not see Tali kill herself, she's the girl with a personality I love and she's one of the people I care about and want to survive. And that's why I cried when I saw Tali die during my first time in the Suicide Mission. Ever since then, I always chose to make the Collectors an extinct race. Go to hell Illusive Man, nothing will make me change how I felt when Tali met her fate.
MrTexas712 I had most of my team killed when I first went into the Suicide Mission, including Tali. I had Mordin and Jacob of all people survive. I was a complete noob in the Suicide Mission, ever since my second and my other playthroughs onward I get everyone to survive. Though somehow Kelly dies every time I attempt this. I always get a bone chilling experience during that mission even when I'm prepared.
joao neto Yeah I know. I had a really annoying glitch about how they programmed that. I saved all of the people in my crew and all of the people that helped me in battle. But after I destroyed the base and talked to the Illusive Man I encounter a glitch that acts like I only saved Chakwas. It let me keep my squadmates and I thank God for that.
no, the extended cut has nothing to do with that. You 'shepard breathing scene' you are talking about happens if you have enough war assests and choose the red ending. It has nothing to do with what difficulty you played the game on, nor does it only happen in the extended cut.
Can you not read? I are completely wrong and I already explained why. The ECDLC doesnt add the 'you possibly live' scene. That is already in the game. Difficulty has nothing to do with anything. And I already said you have to pick the red ending with lots of war assets regardless of if you have the dlc or not.
I don't get emotional over video games but you're right. That line did it for me. *sniffle* I'm glad my Shepard survived. Maybe he'll find Tali again someday.
Right now since I just completed my Perfect Run playthrough no more than an hour ago I couldnt agree more. I want to see more of Tali. She was, is and always will be my Favorite Character in any Video Game.
Because he shows that he love her through his actions - Saving her from being exiled in ME 2 , Getting back Rannoch for her and the Quarian people. This is a love that doesn't need words to see it

I was inspired to write a fanfic with Shepard and Tali having a daughter. The daughter wanted a way to find her father and bring him back to Tali for the reunion of their love.
DeadlyReconGamer I don't lose interest, but I lose the will to write. Also, expressing those feelings in the story is the best part. I love great emotions in storytelling.
One of the most heart breaking romances in the game series. It hurts so badly to leave her. I wish they didn't have to separate at that last moment. "Come back to me..." it will never get old for me. 😢😢 They should have stayed together till the end.
I've been playing this game regularly since 2014 and this scene continues to break my heart every time. Time does nothing for it, I still find it so hard to leave her ; it's by far the best romance in the game!
The high EMS-Destroy ending is the only real one to me. And the only logical one too. First of all, Shep survives which he deserves more than anyone else. Also both other endings don't make sense to me. In the control ending shep becomes a AI which might go crazy at some point in the future since his mind isn't capable of living an eternal life. In the synthesis ending you put every being on the pinacle of evolution which makes life seem useless to me. No conflict would end up to be really boring I think. And who says that the stupid star child knows everything? It is an AI that had no contact to real beings for probably millions of years and it even failed on attempting to stop shepard. And when you look at the Geth and EDI you can clearly see that coexistance is possible. The Catalyst just assumes hes right, because the leviathans, his creators, weren't able to live along with them. Therefore it is just the right thing to do to kill the reapers and let the galaxy decide it's own fate. Sure it's stupid that all synthetics get destroyed but the catalist says that things can be rebuild/repaired. So I assume that synthetics like EDI can be repaired as well. In the end it's still just tech and software. And for fucks sake shep survives and is able to come back to Tali.
+Kotbold123 In the control ending the virtual Shepard doesn't see himself as the same Shepard form before, you can hear it when he narrates the ending. I think that EDI mentions somwhere on the way that if she would be destroyed she couldn't be rebuild that it wouldn't be her anymore, she wouldn't have the same consciousness, but I'm not sure. Anyway all endings suck. Stupid Bioware, stupid EA! Like killing Shepard once wasn't too much...
Citizen Bias it does. EDI cant be rebuild or at the least, she wont be the same EDI as before. The geth though, i believe can be rebuild. If only they all just store their memories into a disc or something just incase
@@citizenvulpes4562 EDI tells you that she is willing to if it means defeating the Reapers also I don't think EDI has an organics view on survival to begin with.
I dont think so. It destroyed synthetics but that would also include shep because of of his synthetic body parts. Synthetic is a broad term that also extended to the Mass relays and anything based on them. So most likely the A.I. programming itself would survive but not the vessels or units
I loved the Tali romance in this game and this scene was amazing hearing Tali say "come back to me" I knew I had to choose destroy ending it was the only way for shep and tali to reunite again!!!!
I just finished my ME1,ME2,ME3 marathon, and after this scene, later deciding which ending to choose, i was staring at the screen for 5 minutes and i didnt know what to choose. I almost chose destroy ending just so shepherd would stay alive.
Still better than the other ones. Control is basically the fulfillment of the Illusive Man's goal and Synthesis is the fulfillment of Saren's goal from the first game (not even gonna mention the Refusal ending). Destroy is the only one that remains true to the series' ideals despite it still being pretty mediocre.
jonontomin That is only if you interpret things that way. I also know where you got those interpertations from as well. And in the end all of them are BS. Also replay ME1, Sarens goal was just to be indoctrinated slaves. That is something completely different from merging synthetic and biological life together.

@@cptndunsel2670 They can be rebuilt, if the citadel, mass relays, and the SR2 can be rebuilt, so can EDI and even the Geth
Reapers are fully built on reaper code, so they are screwed, but EDI was only partially based on reaper code, and the Geth could be restored to their pre-reaper code state
WHO PUT THESE FUCKING ONIONS RIGHT HERE
I'm not kidding when I say this, and I am fully aware of how pathetic/sad it sounds: For a while, I was literally in love with Tali.
·"I want... more time..."
Mike MA
Ahhhh... The words that made me murder an entire race. ;_;
1:52 The fact that Shepard paused and looked back at the reaper just shows Shepard considered going with Tali
Tali is best girl
She has the best one. Simple but beautifully acted by Ash Sroka.
i like to think if you did the Destroy ending, shep goes back to her on Rannoch. JUST LET ME HAVE THIS BIOWARE
i feel you there. i would have loved if they at least just showed him with his back to us walking off somewhere, like...him taking a breath in the rubble was a start....but dammit just go that little extra mile lol
FORREALL!!!! oh well, i mean its a little bit cryptic so i respect their decision in the end i guess
and murder billions of geth + edi? it's 1 man's happiness over billions
MaRaX93 while i agree with EDI, i care far less about the geth. does it make it right? not really but honestly in my ending anyway i wasnt able to save both the quarians and the geth. and you better believe i wasnt letting the quarians die even IF they started the whole mess lol
well the geth are proven to be sentient intelligent being, so your point is invalid. in either case it's just a game. my 2 cents though, you are committing genocide with the destroy option no matter if you "care far less" about it
When i first saw this, it was a truly emotional scene. I liked the extended cut. Tali is the best romance option and she's my favorite character.
I chose Tali as my love interest when I first played. I experienced this scene. Needless to say, my heart broke :(
this is why the MEHEMod is the only ending i accept. i can't and won't lose her.
Manly tears have been shed.
I literally just stared crying... that was so sad.
I KNOW RIGHT. That line was like a punch to the heart.
I was ready to die on this mission if it meant for everyone to survive.
But after this scene i just couldnt anymore. You just cant. God this game was great.
Finished MELE two days ago, still healing from the endings.
Downloaded 1.9 Gb of new content.
Watched 30 seconds of new dialogue with Tali.
Worth it.
God this scene made me cry for days after! I never thought I could be so invested in a relationship in a video game.
I feel exactly the same way, I always thought Tali was the best romance.
I have never EVER cried at any movie or game
That chokes me up just thinking about it
So Shepard always talks about building a home on Rannoch with Tali, and then he mispronounces Rannoch? What the fuck? I mean, it's like me talking about how much I love my home planet Eearrthe.
you mean planet murica
Seven years after, i laughed at that.
Eearrthe.
Probably the saddest scene in the entire series; got pretty choked up.
Those hips...
try russian bride websites :P
Too bad i killed her...in my play through...
Favorite Character in Anything.
"Don't leave me behind!"
Wow, so emotional. So much pain. So sad!
The voice actor did a great job here!
So touching. Really makes you wish the game doesn't end.
+Luk .....?
Luk the difficulty has nothing to do with anything, and the extended cut doesnt change shepard 'living'.
no, the extended cut has nothing to do with that.
Luk You are the one arguing over nothing here. I am telling you something and you refuse to accept it.
Watching this with "I was lost without you" in the background just ripped my feels
Yep and EAware has shat all over the hopes and dreams that we may ever see a good Mass Effect game again.
The feels after that come back to me line.....
Saw this scene again earlier today. It never gets any less sad.
I finished this the other day... damn feels almost made me unable to finish.
This game... Mass Effect 3 was flawed but my GOD, it broke my heart in pieces.
This scene will forever cut deep like a knife to the heart.
Even Harbinger stops to watch the romance scenes.
I ❤ TALI
dont we all?
Jesus. Fucking some one is chopping onions again.
“Come back to me...”
😢
But Tali's face is so expressive in this scene!
And that's why we all install MEHEM mod...
It still crushes my heart all these years later.
Well yes this made me cry too... and after all we didn't had a Happy ending!! Why Bioware??? Why?
Garrus and Tali are the best damn characters in the world(not just in the series) that's why they are in all the games
Tears engaged
awesome, thanks
Out of the romancable options in mass effect to me Tali is the one shepherd is supposed to be with, DESTINED to be with
Most emotional goodbye of all of them. Especially if Shepard earlier picked the option saying he was gonna build her a house on Rannoch 😭
This scene makes me sad :(
This is so sad. Breaks my heart everytime and makes me feel sadness in a video game for the first time.
Очень трогательный и красивый момент. Именно он не сглаживает непродуманную полностью концовку!
I don't get emotional over video games but you're right. That line did it for me. *sniffle* I'm glad my Shepard survived. Maybe he'll find Tali again someday.
I don't care how 'nerdy' or 'sad' I sound, but this scene got me harder than any book or movie I've scene. Genius writing.
Lovehates325 #?# haha may have phrased that badly lol
absolute the best or saddest ending, i love this scene, i just want to see it over and over again.
Tali saying "come back to me" and "I have a home" man...that still kicks me right in the chest no matter how often i see that
Right now since I just completed my Perfect Run playthrough no more than an hour ago I couldnt agree more. I want to see more of Tali. She was, is and always will be my Favorite Character in any Video Game.
But WHY he didnt say that he loves her? In fact, he never uses that words for her...
He does at some point, and if he tells Tali he loves her before this, they bring it up in this conversation.
@Alysandir nope he keeps saying i love you to Ashley many times.
Because he shows that he love her through his actions - Saving her from being exiled in ME 2 , Getting back Rannoch for her and the Quarian people. This is a love that doesn't need words to see it
@@podlodialgilap3490 That doesn't matter, you should still say it as well.
@@shadowscall7758 Love is just a word, and nothing else.
Love is always written the same;
Hand in hand, now that is something else,
And a wisper in the rain.
Love is just a word, and nothing else,
Pure letters on any page,
Secret and cherish is something else,
And wisper in the rain.
Love is just a word, nothing else. Love is just a word, nothing else.
Somethimes it is just a look that's a cause of going mad,
Alas you pray, search, stay sad,
Or when whole body hurts you
Now that is love, and what means to love.
I dig it. It makes it more emotional. Good find.
dem feels man
Broke my heart to leave her all mangled. But in the end, seeing Edi able to smile and have real feelings, and hug Tali, I was so torn up
Maybe one day, if Shepard lives, they can build that home together
Ironically I have never seen this despite Tali being my defeat LI because I never bring her on the finial battle because in game Shepard has every reason to believe whomever accompanies him isn't going to make it. Thanks for up loading this allow me to experience this touching scene.
I was inspired to write a fanfic with Shepard and Tali having a daughter. The daughter wanted a way to find her father and bring him back to Tali for the reunion of their love.
That's so cute
I was going to write a fanfic about Tali after the events of ME3 and include dark matter, but I always lose my will to write after the first page.
+BigFry9591 either because you lose interest or it hurts too much to bring up Shepard's death and Tali's thoughts and feelings of the subject? lol
DeadlyReconGamer I don't lose interest, but I lose the will to write.
Also, expressing those feelings in the story is the best part. I love great emotions in storytelling.
Mass Effect still continues. There is still room for more sequels.
One of the most heart breaking romances in the game series. It hurts so badly to leave her. I wish they didn't have to separate at that last moment. "Come back to me..." it will never get old for me. 😢😢 They should have stayed together till the end.
this video did something that has never happened to me because of a game... it broght tears in my eyes
Of all these, I think Tali takes the award for most heartbreaking goodbye.
+Kotbold123
In the control ending the virtual Shepard doesn't see himself as the same Shepard form before, you can hear it when he narrates the ending.
Kookoo doesn't the destroy ending kill ALL synthetics, such as EDI and the geth?
"Come back to me"
NEVER MAKE A GIRL A PROMISE YOU CAN'T KEEP
He never said he was going back either because he knew he wouldn’t
Noted Tali is the Best Girl in Mass effect
Always makes me cry ;-;. This is the only thing in any video game that will make me cry. EVER.
Tali is too pure for this galaxy.
I wont romance with her so she wouldnt live that part with me. Shes better with Garrus.
You can hear the sadness in her voice
I loved the Tali romance in this game and this scene was amazing hearing Tali say "come back to me" I knew I had to choose destroy ending it was the only way for shep and tali to reunite again!!!!
After watching this in my playthrough I cried for the first time in 2 years.
Man playing Shepherd and then going to the rider twins is hilarious.
I've already done 3 playthroughs of the entire trilogy. I never not chosen Tali, not even out of curiousity. It is the only canonical choice.
Reaper probably stopped firing because it knows Tali is the best Waifu in the game
Right in the feels.
I just finished my ME1,ME2,ME3 marathon, and after this scene, later deciding which ending to choose, i was staring at the screen for 5 minutes and i didnt know what to choose. I almost chose destroy ending just so shepherd would stay alive.
Destroy is the only ending I would ever consider canon.
it doesn't do much i'm disappointed to say. all i saw was shepard's beaten battered body then a quick gasp and that was it.
Still better than the other ones. Control is basically the fulfillment of the Illusive Man's goal and Synthesis is the fulfillment of Saren's goal from the first game (not even gonna mention the Refusal ending). Destroy is the only one that remains true to the series' ideals despite it still being pretty mediocre.
jonontomin
That is only if you interpret things that way. I also know where you got those interpertations from as well. And in the end all of them are BS. Also replay ME1, Sarens goal was just to be indoctrinated slaves. That is something completely different from merging synthetic and biological life together.
jonontomin Me too.
This scene is so beautiful.
