The car the Baja is based on, the Subaru Outback wagon, is VERY popular in Australia.
Every vehicle has an element of design to it. Some designs are just so visually interesting that they become practically invisible. Most of the time this is due to repetition. Cars like the Accord, the Elantra, the 380, the Avalon, the Altima, silver NPC vehicles you've seen so many times you don't even register them anymore. The Honda Pilot is something different. Where's the point of focus on the pilot? There's no lines that carry momentum, nor are there striking angles. Somehow even with striking colors is still sparks zero emotion. It's a vibrant looking appliance, a metallic orange toaster. Nothing more. It lacks luxury, ruggedness, aggression, expression. Even when it's moving it still looks parked. When a Kia Soul has more soul than this, you know something is up.

The last good looking car Honda made was the S2000. Audi TT is a car Barbie would drive. Looks too much like a VW Beetle. Alfa Romeos are junk, 100%. Nissan Juke -- didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. I'm guessing most ppl would say it's ugly tho. BMW is fine as long as it's M-series. Sell it after 5 years before it becomes a money pit. Mazda RX8 -- love 'em. The one car I wish I'd bought but never did. Just a few test drives. The rotary engine is cool. Mini -- they look fun, heard good things, but i'd never buy one new. $5K tops for a used one. Manual ofc.

Mans out here hating every remotely memorable car from the early 2000s. Mans hating the entire early RetroModernism era. The only retromodern car I didn't see was the 2002 Ford Thunderbird. Okay, the PT Cruiser I can understand. That vehicle did little to live up to its classic image aside from those quirky wooden panel editions. But the HHR and SSR? Have some joy in your life, man. Have some whimsy. Both of those vehicles got the SS treatment, and the HHR got a rare panel van edition which just looks rad. The Plymouth Prowler is, or was supposed to be, the modern hot rod coupe. It was a horrid shame they only released it as a V6 Automatic. I'd consider it more a flawed execution than flawed concept. Agreed the Honda Ridgeline is a strange middle child of a car that tries to have inner city styling whilst looking like a chiseled cinderblock, but come on, the Subaru Baja is a fun little experiment. Stapling a truck bed to the tail end of the Outback with a quirky tray gimmick similarly to how the BRAT came with rear facing in-bed seats.
I do not love any of these cars either. But you have to give props to automakers for trying to create something unique. They may be ugly but I bet some of them would be practical and fun to own. Car makers don't bother taking risks like this any more because it cost money to try something new. So they stick to building all the f'n boring black, grey, and white midsize SUV blobs that we have today.
I 100% agree besides the Gladiator. I don't mind the Jeep Gladiator. However, this truck is basically inferior to a lot of other trucks in the market rn which probably explains why they're not selling well. If you happen to make a Part 2, pls include the Hyundai Santa Cruz, new gen Toyota Tundra, and let's not forget the Nissan Puke. 💀

I 100% agree besides the Gladiator. I don't mind the Jeep Gladiator. However, this truck is basically inferior to a lot of other trucks in the market rn which probably explains why they're not selling well. If you happen to make a Part 2, pls include the Hyundai Santa Cruz, new gen Toyota Tundra, and let's not forget the Nissan Puke. 💀

1 - I dont understand the problem with it. It's a cute looking weeked/city car. Yeah the grew panels on some models front is a bit ugly, but in general it's a cool looking ass car.

Pt cruiser kinda goated tho, insanely innovative. One of the first retro styled cars, starting that whole trend giving us some legendary muscle cars and fiat 500 etc. also the pt cruiser was one of the first crossover style vehicles, roomy interior but small outside it was pretty popular for a reason
