Helene her biggest song is Atemloss durch die nacht (Breathless through the night). There is a live in the rain version which is amazing to show how well her fans are. (that video has somehow also a 2nd song attached)
She did a musical education and started singing "Schlager". But she is very flexible in her singing styles. The video is recorded on her yearly Christmas show "the Helene Fischer show", where she sings with different singers, does acrobatics, musical interpretation,... She is one of the biggest singers in Germany.
I ran across the Elvis duet about a year ago and have listened to Helene every day since. I have a public library “Helene Fischer Favorite English” and “Helene Fischer Favorite German” and a Christmas library. Her Christmas album is really good. I would like you to cover excerpts from her Farbenspiel concert. I recommend the one that is 1:28 long. The versatility she has and her ability to engage the crowd is amazing. Wish her parents had left Russia for the US.
Helene is a trained musical singer, but she never really did musicals because she pretty much became a Schlager singer right after. If I'm correct she studied from 2001 to 2004 and her first TV performance was in 2005 in a Schlager show. She actually never planned to do Schlager, but was advised, not to say more or less forced, to do Schlager by her manager. She originally wanted to do English pop music like Celine Dion, her idol, but took the chance that was offered to her and it's not that she was completely against doing Schlager. Her manager wasn't convinced that Helene would have a chance as an English pop singer and determined that she would have better chances becoming a Schlager singer. With time now she became more and more of a pop singer and I would say that she doesn't do Schlager anymore and pretty much pop now, what she always wanted, but still in German and not in English.
Helene, I believe, is a European (German), performer similar to a combination of Celine and Taylor Swift with, as you noted, a classical music type training.

Ik vind de stem van Hélène niet fijn klinken, hard en onpersoonlijk, Andrea is een fenomeen.
