When one has nothing to lose, as in having a terminal illness, the best course of action is to try everything possible. This is what Charlie Teo does. I respect him greatly. He offers hope to the hopeless. Until YOU find yourself being diagnosed with a brain stem tumour, reserve judgment. You too would want to take any chance that offers hope. Dr Teo, you’re an admirable man and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Least of all those who do not know what they’re talking about.
He did some good things and saved some lives. This led to a massively inflated ego where he started to believe his own infallibility as a neurosurgeon. Once he lost all sense of humility and perspective, he became reckless. Offering hope to desperate families where there was never any was just cruel, and all for the low low price of $100k. All the good he did does not absolve him of his unethical treatment of those poor kids
Did you miss half the video where he went through how he screwed up? Worst outcome, condemned a boy to be trapped in his own body. His overall philosophy is "we as surgeons have no right to decide what is and isnt a worthwhile risk when it should be ultimately the patient's decision". How is that an inflated ego? How is that a lack of humility?
@@robincray116 you realize that boy was given a death sentence by every other surgeon? That Teo told his parents beforehand that every other surgeon was correct- his tumour was inoperable. That any surgery he attempted would have a 99% percent chance of failing and that he’d either die on the operating table or be a vegetable for his last few months. And with that the parents decided 1% percent chance was better than just waiting for the inevitable.
I absolutely respect this man because he speaks from the heart and most importantly he tells things exactly as they are. I was bought up to do the exact thing by both my parents but there a lot of people who either feel uncomfortable or simply can’t handle the fact that you say whatever straight out. It’s simply someone telling the truth how they see it. I’ve always found people like me who say what they think are more honest than most anyway..I would put my life in his hand no question he’s a doctor who tells the truth and its rare nowadays to put your trust and faith in some doctors because they like to refer you to someone else instead of taking a risk.
@@SonyCamry imagine you’re diagnosed with a brain tumour. Every surgeon says you’ve got just weeks to live . Teo offers you a one percent chance. You’ve seen others where he has performed that very miracle. Do you take the chance or just go away and die …?
Dr Charlie. Love your tenacity humility and sincerity. Your presence gives us hope that tomorrow will be better than yesterday. A big huge THANKYOU. Lyell Adelaide

I watched 60 minutes Australia reveals his true identity. So sorry for the patients. He uses them for money. Greedy. Good man outside but inside his into someone’s money 😔
So if this is the case, can you explain why the comments section of the 60 minutes article is full of past patients and people supporting him? Can you also explain why one of the Neurosurgeons interviewed on the episode, as well as Bella’s dad, also emailed him apologising for how they were portrayed and how they were used by the program to discredit him?
I never liked him something always seemed suss , some of the things coming out on this trial are quiet unbelievably what a cowboy . I feel for the families involved
Dr Charlie Grandiose Teo. Takes no accountability but will take your cash. What Charlie needs, is to take is a break and see a therapist. Let me guess Charlie, you don't need a therapist, everyone else does. Classic.
We should celebrate people like Teo and not make a demon out of him. The media has persecuted this genius

Good point. He is either a narcissist or a psychopath

He is a life saver. The people that died were going to die in months anyway and had a chance to live a long time if successful.
I have so much respect for Dr Teo. He’s such an advocate for his patients and a talented surgeon.

He is not humble. He has a big ego and is really full of himself.
It's called narcissism.
Once the brain hits the air, you're never the same.
Stop talking nonsense!

60 minutes is completely and utterly biased in all it’s “reporting”. They exist to sell advertising airtime.
