matte is only useful for drawing tablets where friction helps to control line and pressure
Even then, they eat away at the tip of the stylus
Stylus sandpaper
@@kurnikov613 lmfaoo
Not really, I use my phone outdoors half of the time I use it, and glaring is pretty annoying so this protector helps with that
Yes, but my reason as to why matte is only useful for drawing is because it tricks my brain that the thing that I'm drawing at is paper.
It feels great, I really don't know about other things that it got but that paper feeling to it, is definitely a must have for your drawing tablet or phone if you're into drawing.
I had a matte screen protector on my phone for a while, the image quality looks terrible, a ton of scratches start showing up after a month of use, and the tiniest bit of oil on your finger makes it look like a mess. Also it doesn't make it any more visible under sunlight.
You probably bought a terrible one.
I've seen those terrible ones and they make your phones screen like 240P.
Mine reduces image quality by a bit but it's only really noticable for the notification bar and frankly I've gotten used to it.
As for scratches mine has some but it's not very noticeable after 6 months of use.
I agree that with the oil and the visibility under sunlight. I mainly enjoy it for it's smoothness.
I have a 1st gen mini iPad since its release and it has the matte screen protector and I had no problem for years so I guess you bought it from a dollar shop or something
@@sinaalami4148 so why did you write all of this... you legit said "I don't agree but I agree" like tf

Yea, Same bro. No matt-er what brand or price they're all usually the same (pun intended)
Matte screen protectors look amazing when you are one of those people who apply dark mode on all your apps
Meee!! Cause my eyes hurt from bright displays..I even have my messenger app always on dark mode
So you mean almost everyone. There has been multiple surveys where the vast majority of respondents are “one of those people”.
Furthermore, I do not believe the same percentage of people would prefer matte screen protectors because of their obvious downsides.
Who doesn't have their phone set in "dark mode?" Think you're in the minority on this one. 😂
@@leland303always on light mode, dont like dark mode that much
I like the old school look it gives off back when the first flat screen TVs had matte screens, imo it’s either super glossy or matte the semi gloss screens suck on anything

using a matte protector right now, spot on. it's definitely not for everyone but I love it
Is it good for multimedia
Same here
Idk just something about it
Yeah, its really helpful for people who like gaming, but always got sweat on their finger like me, that's why i choose matte
@@FashWuzHere nearly the same reason, but now I realize it helps reading
@@Garethfelix depends, it makes the screen a bit blurry, but it also is really good for glare.
I've just installed a matte screen protector a month ago. It reduced the light, but it's quite pleasant to use in the dark and under the sun.
I already use a matte screen protector on my phone. And I'll admit it has more pros than cons. It reduces the chance of stress I couldn't have because of seeing the phone for too long as it has anti glare properties. It also makes the touch screen very smooth. And gamers would love it. Also I have sweaty hands which make normal screens easily dirty, but matte helps here as the moisture easily evaporates from screen
it makes me want to focus on the reflection but its just a blur so its hard
I just love the feel of them. So smooth
Naaaahhhh to me it’s like crocks man, makes me wanna gag
@@thelambsauce7307 You gag on crocs too?

I do have a matte protector, it’s very good, looks really clear and doesn’t seem too dim to me, I usually use it on 40% or less brightness anyways so ig I can just turn it up if it’s dim 🥶🥶
Hm..
I have them on both iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. I actually like it better than the glossy one. I compared the brightness to the ones at the Apple store. You can see the way Matte degrades the brightness and quality. It hasn't affected me yet but I really like the lack of glare and it hasn't seen to lack any brightness. I also don't get any finger prints, which I hate on the glossy screen protectors. I feel that glossy also degrades the quality but not as bad as matte. One thing on the new iPhones is that you can see the punch outs more.
I loved to use those back when screens had lower res. Because it would kind of make the sharp edges less noticeable. 😌
This was very common back in 2011, had it on my ipod touch 4
I also had a matte screen protector on my iPod touch 4th gen over a decade ago looked like crap
Fun Fact : They also strain your eyes less
Lol! Then just use true tone mode
@@pinroshan020can't I'm on pixel 8 pro
No, they don't. They reduce the screen contrast so you actually strain your eyes more. They only help with strong reflections, but it's a mobile device, just turn it slightly to avoid the reflection.
@@JC-XLyep they definitely strain the eyes
I love mine on my pixel 7 pro… I enjoy the soft light look, the silky smooth feel to the touch and no fingerprints!!
Very nice and some people will definitely love them, I prefer glossy but that’s all my own.
I used to have a matte screen protector and it was great for playing games but the image quality suffers a noticable hit so it usually depends on a person's use case
Been using one for 6 months now. It still looks good and helps me when I'm playing games because it makes my fingers slide smoother. The only problem is, yes, that grainy thing.
Currently using one. As a gamer, you'll love matte screen protector as sweats from long periods of gaming wont disturb the screen. And it's also resistant to fingerprints. As others said, the clarity and brightness really got worse but not too bad, those are sacrifice I'm willing to make
@@MrLeroyFox as a gamer, no one asked about your opinion
@@josuke6131 as a gamer, i agree with you
@@MrLeroyFox as a gamer you dont shame others based on the platform they play on
@@MrLeroyFox so you think playing cod on pc or console makes u a soldier? That doesn't make sense the same way. Games are games and they're meant to be enjoyed no matter the platform. Gaming on pc or console doesnt make u better than someone who games on a phone. The definition of the word "Gamer" doesnt have any particular mention of platforms. You can check it online. And according to you if mobile gaming is the reason of pc and Console downfall then it makes complete sense. People all around the world dont have access to huge amounts of money to invest in a machine just to play games, it would be an illogical thing. You have to remember that you playing games on console or pc actually makes u a quite alot privileged. A mobile phone on the other hand is an essential thing that can do almost everything for a lot cheaper. So no wonder people decide to play on it. And i cant see the downfall of AAA title according to you, Elden Ring has been one of the most awesome and wonderful titles released in a long time and a lot of people are playing it. What about handhelds? Does playing on a nintendo switch not make you a gamer? If it does why doesnt a phone which can practically do the same thing? Even if some things are different a switch is basically a tablet with controllers isn't it? So are you against mobile gamers or mobile gaming titles particularly? And even if people prefer mobile gaming more than pc and console( according to you)aren't you being a little salty because they dont match your ideals?
@@MrLeroyFox God, you're the type of person that must be really fun at parties. I don't play phone games that much, but can we seriously stop with the gatekeeping "phone gamers are not real gamers" bullshit? Not everyone has a console or money for a PC. Everyone has money for a phone because it's literally an essential item to own and just makes your life a whole lot better.
I tried the matte on may this year it still the best screen protector I had until today but as you mentioned it effects the brightness and the resolution
Is it weird I just like the feel of it? So yes?
Yes you're weird lol
Same Reason I use mine.
No, it's not

@@monke8698 no he is not.
Wow. I have had a matte screen protector for a few months now. Purchased a super cheap one as well. This is better than any screen protector I have ever used. Was literally $2. Fingerprints and oil on my screen was such a nightmare back in the day now I forgot that was even an issue on phones and it's only been like 2 months

That screen protector would be awesome for the game boy
I tried using this matte protector and I eventually removed it myself. The grains annoys me 😅😂
I can feel the glass buy reading this comment 😫

It lasted two days for me. The quality of the image was shitty as fuck. Yeah let's make my OLED look alike a 720p . No thank u 😅
I’ve also heard these matte screen protectors make the colors pop less, and are a bit duller than with the gloss coating.
I have a matte one, and my opinion? ITS PERFECT, I’ve had it 9 months, no joke, not a SINGLE scratch, I also like never have fingerprints on it, currently, my screen protector is still perfect!

I'll add to that, I've seen a bad matte protector also which I bought for my father's Ipad, absolute trash that feels like shit. The one I bought from amazon for my phone and ipad is absolutely godly. Ive had mine on my phone for 4 years, and when I clean it with wet cloth, it looks like new, it's crazy. Something I dont see mentioned enough is that matte protectors are amazing for people with sweaty hands (me), i miss the vibrant display, but to clean the phone from fingerprints after every single use is fking annoying.
I’m using one right now, and I love it.
Be careful it's not ment to be protective.
i like matte much more, the smooth touch is the best
i use one on my framework laptop and it just feels so good to use when in bright and dark areas
I have a matte screen protector and it’s awesome. Feels super nice and smooth, easeirr to see outdoors since it’s antireflective fingerprints are invisible and while it is true that it messes with the color a little bit you get used to it then can barely tell
I'm using a matte screen protector from a few years and safe to say, i never wanna go back to glossy. I like to draw and the matte texture feels way better. I like the grain effect so it isn't a problem for me and my phone stays on half screen brightness all the time so yeah. Perfect for me
I use anti glare protectors on almost all my devices with a screen. I can't live without them.
My dad has that on his Redmi and it looks really good and feels so smooth to interact with so for me it's a good thing
I play a lot of rhythm games that involves a lot of swiping and dragging at high speed so matte screens are really good

After using a matte on my iPhone for more than a year now, i am never going back to glossy! Just love the love the feel & look of it. And The phones these days are bright enough to have enough brightness to get through.
I think i'll stay with glossy ones for sharpness.
It's cool on pen-tablets tho, not the "on screen" ones.
I watched this video on my phone which have this kind of screen protector, and yes it affects image clarity and brightness but I love it because it easy to clean and very pleasant to touch compared to glossy surface
As a current user of one, I gotta say it’s pretty nice. The feel and uniqueness really sells me on it
where did you get your and is it a good brand
@@shuaunknown I think the company name was “motcha” and so far it’s pretty good. They don’t protect the bezels which kinda sucks but they’re still good quality
I had one. Loved it. Now I’m back at a normal tempered glass screen protector. I miss my matte protector
I bought a matte screen protector once, and after removing it my phone got so clear 😂 like my phone turned from 480p to 1080p resolution. The only think I like about matte is that there is no finger prints and if your hands are sweaty and you like to play games then it's great for you
I love my matte screen protector, been using them for years
I use the kindle app a lot. Matte screens would be cool
I’ve had this for 4 years on my phone and much prefer it! Is better in sunlight and reduces eye strain.
I like them, so smooth to touch and pretty, like my kindle. The glass ones, specifically.
I used to have a matte protector and I loved it. It was dimmer but I usually liked dimmer since screens back then didn't have that extra dim option. I was using it on a 720p tablet and it really wasn't a big deal for image quality since the image quality was minimal to begin with. overall I think I will try again if it works with a inscreen fingerprint sensor
I have a matte and security screen protector. I’ve had it on for two months and no knicks or damage to it. Usually my screen protector is full of cracks from normal use. This one is great, the brightness isn’t an issuer but the clarity is like going from 1080 to 480!! It’s def noticeable. But no finger prints and glare is amazing!!
Worth a try. Definitely for me, because I work outdoors and constantly trying to over counter my phone's lowering of the screen brightness in direct sunlight is most definitely worth a try.
Well I have personally used Both screen protector but I recommend the glass one because of the clarity. If you watch content on your phone go for Glass Screen protector but if you dp gaming or Drawing/Writing then go for matte
I use a matte screen protector and I love it!
As for me, the matte screen protector is the best. It's pretty weird to see that the back of my smartphone looks dirtier compared to the screen and the part that needs more wiping is the back since I've changed to matte screen protector 🤣🤣🤣. Personally I like how less sharp the screen resolution is caused by the matte screen, it just feels pleasant to my eyes. The little bit of paper like screen is really comfortable to my eyes and the screen is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy fingerprint proof compared to the standard glossy one. Without a gaming session or anything that needs you to touch your screen for a long period of time, the screen will be completely flawless all day long. Unless your hands are just that dirty, filthy........ Please wash your hands often.....
how can we clean it pls reply...
I use this on my iPad when I draw.
Pros and cons to both but I’ve been a matte user for 4 phones. icarez is the brand I’ve been using, they’re cheap so I don’t feel guilty about a fresh one every few months.
I am now using these for like 6 years in repeating pattern, I like to put it on for few months and then remove it for few months.
The best of all is that feeling of smooth paper like low friction when you put it on, but also the sudden clarity and gloss it gets when you remove it 😅
My go to screen protector, it feels really nice when you touch it but I agree about it being dark under direct sunlight
I’ve had a matte screen protector. It looks great while I do notice it’s dimmer in direct sunlight. But I don’t think I’m alone in thinking it no longer looks grainy. I get compliments about the screen protector all the time.
I would stick with normal ones or anti-peeping ones. Thank you for pointing out the difference in detail.
Matte is also useful in gaming 👍🏻
I just can’t stop looking at how outstanding the screen protector looks when showed on light, you can clearly see is not perfectly placed
Back then using this antispy screen protector since I have blackberry gemini. It s a trend back then, many people use this screen protector. I agree on Its screen brightness issue
I stopped using screen protectors on my 12 mini because of responsiveness of the touchscreen these do look interesting though
I got one a few years back and still have it. Pretty good thing. Others are saying how image qiality gets worse & ect, but mine didnt. Buy a good one and you wont regret it
I really want to get a matte screen protector and have ordered one. I just like the feel and love the fact that it’s more fingerprint repellent. But, it’s important to get a proper, branded one because otherwise it’ll get bad, quick
Matte screen protectors are worth a try, but not a permanent option to me. The reduction of image quality with the grainy effect is annoying, especially because in some cases it also breaks the light that the screen emits.
I haven't really seen anyone mention this, but I like how you just blatantly revealed the entire video script lol
I had this back in the day on my Galaxy Tab 2
I have matte+anti-blue light protector
IVE BEEN USING THIS FOR YEARS!!!! UNDERRATED
I used to have matte screen guards on my old Android doodoo boxes. I actually kinda miss them but I’ve grown so used to use glossy these days
I have a matte screen protector and it helps a lot as the screen never gets dirty.
I've used a matte screen protector for awhile on my s21 ultra. I really enjoy it. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about it to give it a try.
Even gamers? Then you're stoopid
Am having it too
I've tried matte screen protectors before and could never get over the grainy, rainbow-ish colorization effect it gives to the display. I'm satisfied with the clear or glossy ones that retains the original display quality.
Honestly, it’s a left-right-left-right situation for me. When I use a glossy one for a few weeks, I want a matte one. And when I do switch to matte, eventually I crave for a glossy one because of the grainy distortion.
So much hate on matte in the comments. But i personally love them. Aesthetically it looks good, smooth when scrolling contents, and definitely easier to clean. The only drawback is the decrease in screen clarify. Having it currently on my S21.
Have been using these for years and I have no idea why I never see them on someone else
I have a matte screen protector and it feels and looks aamazing , doest affect to quality i see my screen through but maybe that could just be me
I was talking about finishes on materials with my physical therapist and I mentioned all of the same points. MAN IM SPOT ON.
I have one on my phone and i love the way it feels while using my phone
The only disadvantage of my phone was brightness
I added this protector and it became black in moderately dim sunlight
Never had an issue of brightness on both my S20 and my 12 Pro.
My favorite part is the removal of glare.

I use ceramic matte or paperlike screen protector on my Ipad. It works best when your drawing or writing. When it comes to longevity, it could survive for a year without chipping off or breaking unlike that of tempered glass. I prefer it only on the ipad tho, in iphones I like tempered better bec the clarity it provides.
I do hope manufacturers could come up w Matte screen protector that doesnt reduce the screen quality.
I got a duel matte and privacy screen protector for my iPhone 14 plus Red. I’ve never been happier with my screen an absolute killer
I use one of these on my iPad mini 6 that stays in the car for monitoring/music, it’s perfect to eliminate glare so gauges are always visible without full brightness+it really doesn’t affect the quality a noticeable amount
My favorite type of screen protector. The ceramic. It doesn't crack too. My only complaint is the loss in brightness and the graininess
I have a matte screen protector and it feels so good
Yesss, someone addressed the cons too at last
so much easier to look under sunlight and your finger moves on the screen like a breeze ABSOLUTELY AMAZING for mobile gaming imo (if you are ok with a slightly reduced image quality).
Been using matte for yrs i just like the feels of it 😅
I brought a gaming phone to play games(I play tournaments to make money) and I put a matte screen protector on and it helps alot, finger moves smoothly, eyes don't hurt with long screen time and some more.
I always suggest mat type, since nowadays we all increase the mobile using time.. it protects eyes, there is slight colour output issue compared to glossy but, always mat type glass safe as well as good...
Over time the screen protector will become glossy because of skin oils, but cleaning it will restore the lovely anti-glare screen.
I’ve tried it. They are great
I put one of them screen protectors on my IPad, I removed it since it made everything look less sharp.
Low quality ones make it less sharp. The good ones gets rid of glare without making it dull.
Currently using it for playing rhythm games. No need of powder anymore, the screen already so smooth for intense sliding.
I would suggest using glossy only.
The one I have on my phone is really good. The imagine quality has gone down, but it self heals, so there is no scratches, and less fingerprints if any at all. Wouldn't recommend it though if you use your phone indoors and for content.
matte screen protector makes my device looks premium also loves the feel of it it is fingerprint resistant but its very scratchable
I've been using matte screen protector for more than 2 years, it is best switch that I've made
My phone screen never broke after using matte protector
Only con is after an year of use you have to remove it and replace with a new screen protector
if I didn't use my phone as much as I do, a matte screen protector would definitely be something I'd be looking to use, however as you said it could reduce the quality of the image of my phone, I wouldn't use one as I'm on my phone alot
For gaming with sweaty fingers, it's like a gods gift and I have been using for years without any display quality issue except brightness is a bit lower. Just don't put your phone with keys and sharp things and Matt is your best friend.
