In this week’s episode of In The Box Seat, we had the chance to sit down and talk to the living legend himself, Michael ‘Muis’ Roberts. With the exciting times ahead with just under a month left until the Hollywoodbets Durban July on the 1st of July, we talk to him about his preparations, for a possible historic moment with See It Again and the chances of him performing as he did in the Daily News 2000. We go down memory lane and look back to when he won the July as a jockey. We also hear about Michael Roberts’ prodigy, Rachel Venniker. Great to listen to Michael Roberts, good insights from the top jock and now trainer 🎉❤. 😅😂 He wanted draw 6 and Piere 8 - 10, so they duly got draw 7, looks like the right one See It Again, only query would be that extra 200m and like Michael says the other shenanigans they get up to? It's a race afterall.

See It Again is likely a whole lot better than I consider
I am not sure that there is a whole lot in the July this year
But if Tarry can get his filly well and truly primed
She can run
And if by miracle Safe Passage can be primed
And Snaith will certainly have a horse that will keep finding
I am not convinced of See It Again
I also consider that this year is the one year that a few will only peak in the July and that would mean their form prior to the July would be misleading
I certainly hope See It Again wins the July ,
For as many good reasons as one can hope for
But it takes a horse to win the July ,
And I am not yet convinced by
See It Again .

I just reviewed his Daily News Victory
He looked class out of the gate
And he was all class turning into the straight
Striker delivered a highly illusive ride
He has gears
And I do believe he will be 40 to 60 % better on July Day
If Striker can't win the July on him on the day
Then no one could win on him on the day
Muis is correct
Lots of scope !
It seems highly likely that Muis will join the ranks of having ridden and trained a July winner 🏆
Let's hope the right horse arrives at the course !
