Have you tried ironing your decoupage? You put Mod Podge or your top coat on your piece first. Two coats and let it completely dry. You put the paper on top of the dried glue and cover with parchment and activate the adhesion with the iron. I was taught the ironing technique as a kid and you get no wrinkles!!!!
I have not but now I need to!! I know people like it so so want to at least try!!
Will that method be ok with curved concave pieces though?

Crys’Dawna, another awesome piece! It takes me a looooong time to gain the courage to paint over something that took forever to paint the first time. I watched that plaid video when you first did it. It was fabulous then too. The blend on the cat decoupage is well done. It looks fun and the message is cute; creative way to “write” words. Hi Crys'Dawna! Thank you for sharing your artistry, talents, and techniques with us. I LOVE this one and purchased 2 of these cat decoupage papers. I finally found a suitable dresser that is the appropriate scale for the decoupage image. Now I just need to strip, sand and paint the piece to get started. My question is: what kind of drawer pulls did you use? How did you go about placing them so that the image wasn't compromised by the pulls? This will be my first time doing a project like this. Thank you! 💚

It looks like the cat OWNS this piece, not like he was applied to it! And I love that. I was gonna crack wise about how you could use the colors around your eye and some eyeshadows in a blending technique, but thought that was probably not in good taste ... 😊 I speak from experience, mine was quite the rainbow! Glad you're OK, and thanks for the decoupage tips.

Very nice. When you do your close out comments, I would sit to the side of the piece instead of in front of it so we can look at it and listen to you also.

I just L-O-V-E it! Unfortunately the cat paper is sold out. Would have liked to see what you chose as knobs. Gear shaped knobs would tie in well with this sassy cat.

Did you not go back and remove your Salt wash underneath? Or did you just kind of allow it to fall as you painted? Beautiful mottled blend! Your red, orange and yellow mottled piece qith the moulds was the first I had seen with that technique and I remember absolutely swooning over it 😘😘😘 It's my favorite way to blend now!

Also, can't believe you covered your hand-painted plaid. That was a big job, as I recall. Did you shed a tear? (or maybe your eye is just watering from Ball-to-Face syndrome) 😢
When you do a color blend job like this one, where you have so many different kinds of colors - what brushes/sizes and styles do you like to use for that little tight work? Watching this blend was pretty cool. Very moody and fun piece. Thanks so much for sharing.
So I use my own brushes now but really any brush that is about an inch or so would do, you could use smaller brushes for around the paper but you can always wipe away the paint because after you put the topcoat on before you go in with paint there is a layer of protection so most paint will wipe off easily instead of soaking into the paper. Does that make sense? I hope so lol 😂

I have been looking for peacock rice paper with this size and I'm not having such of a good luck. This is gorgeous but too far in advance for me. Maybe I can practice on a large flat wood?

Are there certain colors of paint that you absolutely keep on hand as your “staple” colors? I’ve been buying per project and it drives me nuts because sometimes I am interrupted for a few days waiting on a color I didn’t plan for.
Great questions!! A brown, blues and green a black and a white, I would say the cool shades are what I grab more often
I have used the plastic, I have started from the middle, I still get lots of wrinkles and if I rub back and forth like that my paper tears, how do you avoid wrinkles and tears in the paper?
