This tech meet demonstrates that the causes of the smoking and knocking of a Silver Cloud III engine is the installation of cheaper Chevy pistons instead of Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III pistons. Hi another very interesting video on the Cloud 3 engine. do you have a video in pulling the liners out and reinstalling them. Someone told me that I need to heat the block up to 150degC before pulling the liners. Is this true? Do you freeze the liners before reinstalling? thanks Hugh

i need to know why they use mineral oil as beake fluid was it better than regular brake fluid of the time and what year did they switch to dot 3 or dot 4

Why on earth if you owed a Rolls-Royce would you put a second rate Chev piston in a Rolls-Royce engine? If someone does that, they cannot afford, nor should they own a Rolls-Royce. RR learnt how to build high performance engines during WW2 with the Merlin etc. Did Chev? Not on your life.
Chevs are just cheap and disposable. They built Jeeps and still do. Totally disgusted!

Ford refused to produce aircraft engines for the Brits. Henry was a very odd fellow, to say the least. Packard improved the Merlin engine considerably and built 58000 of them.

@@wholeNwon What a load of rubbish.Ford was a Nazi supporter and wouldn't do anything to help the Brits just like JFK's father who was a Nazi and wouldn't do anything to help the Brits but Packard produced Merlins under licence to RR to increase production. Tell me how Packard improved the Merlin. Give me facts and figures.And Packhard never built 58000 of hem. Where apart from your dreams do you get your information?
