In the final day of CYL8, we summon on the "In Those We Hope" banner featuring those Choose Your Legends Round 8 winners: Robin, Bernadetta, Alfonse, and Felix. Can we get a bit of last minute luck? Or will our orbs drop into Feh's unrelenting wings for nothing?

Congrats on the pulls! Sweeping the banner is always a good thing. I did my pulls fairly late as well. I really only used the tickets and wound up with a Robin and a Rosado. I was happy to get the Robin to use as an Arena Bonus hero.

Congrats on the last day luck! That really worked out for you! Waiting on the free summon is definitely the smart choice. I got a B!Alfonse, B!Bernadetta, and sparked for a merge for Alfonse. _He's nuts._ I'm also holding onto my free summon, but leaning towards Alfonse to give his fodder to A!Caeda since I actually lucked out and have a lot of copies of her.

Damn, quite a lucky banner for you. Swept the banner and even got some dupes. Makes sense you'd save the free summon as a fodderbank then. I wouldn't know who to pick either - it's better to wait and see what future GHB's/TT units bring that might need the fodder tbh. Congrats!
Wasn't quite so lucky myself on the banner. I got a Felix in my first circle and then nothing until the final circle...where I got Gustav instead of Alfonse. The game was mocking me there. Sparked Alfonse and picked Bernie as my free summon, so yeah. No Robin for me. The safety net was the only reason I even got the two units I actually wanted most. Oh well.

Congrats on the units you manage to get here. Especially for your 1st free summon here.
They may have bad IVs, but you can always change them. That or just go with them. Or whatever.
I manage to get two of the focus units I least weren't aiming for. Those being Brave Felix and Brave Female Robin. I think I might've gotten some other 5 star units, but I forgot. I used the free summons, both the 40 summons and the free 5 star summons to get the other two units I was aiming for.

Congrats on the Brave pulls.
I still remember all mine: 2 of every Brave unit (except Felix who I only have the 1 of). So guess Felix fodder is waiting.
Also, for your question...remember that we have Rearmed and Attuned units now, so you can easily slap Alfonse's and Felix's skills onto a Rearmed/Attuned unit who can take all of them, and then now you have "infinite" fodder. So assuming you do that in order to maximize their usage, between Robin and Bernadetta...I would say Bernie is the better of the two to free pick, since while Curved Shot is bow locked, Prime and Assassin's Strike are not, whereas all of Robin's skills are infantry locked, I believe (I know Flare and Creation Pulse are. I forgot if Finish skills are infantry locked. I think they are, but not certain.) So, if taking Rearmed/Attuned units into account, then I would say Bernie. If not...then I would say Alfonse. His skills are just way too damn good (I mean, so are Felix's, but Gust is infantry locked, so you're only getting Excel and Endless Tempest from him), and all three can be used on fliers. Only thing is, they'd only be usable on OG Camilla and New Year Camilla (cause Fortifications and Reopening can't be given to ranged units), but...if you free pick Alfonse, then the two fodder ones can go to both OG and New Years, so you won't have to pick between the two.
Sorry for that last part. I know it's lengthy, but tl;dr: If using Rearmed/Attuned (to make "infinite" fodder), then Bernadetta. If not, then Alfonse.
