Smart. I agree. I don’t think Soto is worth 600 million. The cold truth is that Soto doesn’t have the same commercial value as Ohtani. Soto simply isn’t that likable. As a Dodgers fan, I hope we aren’t stupid enough to sigh him.
Sota is a good hitter, poor fielder, can make a difference but doesn't have the market value like ohtani or judge.personally 10yrs at40 is true value but he will get atleast 550mill
Shalom , Dan is an unbiased opinion, there is a whole country looking at Soto, The fans at Yankee stadium were going bananas 🍌 for him and I can’t remember the last time fans were that excited about some right fielder, sure you judge is box 📦 office that is your opinion, but where was your box office payer in playoffs? Where Soto was doing what he does on the playoffs and winning games for the team as the box 📦 office player was referred as David Winfield that only preforms on the regular season no knock on him he is a good player and an average outfielder as well so let’s see which career and contract will hold up the best. Blessings and no human is worth that money not even Othany, he got paid this year to be a Dh, big papi had many great seasons as a dh plus a clutch hitter, remember Dan people play for playoff clutch performances wonder why the top team wants to sign him including the dodgers……
Soto is a fantastic player he's a above average outfielder but he's not worth $700 million dude is worth at least $400 million I am sorry and Dan is right ,soto is not box office ,
I totally agree with Dan. Aaron Judge is on a $40 million AAV, Bryce Harper on a $26 million - Juan Soto getting anything above a $45 million AAV across ten years seems like an overpay to me; especially given the current RSN shitshow. But then again, what do I know? And there's also Scott Boras.
Sometimes price is not equal to skill ( or value ), It depends on need. If Mets think they need Soto .. and is willing to pay 700 million, that does not mean Soto brings more value to the team than Ohtani.. it is just Mets has the need for Soto and maybe the next best available player is not good enough. So they become willing to pay premium ..
They don't need him. They need pitching. Soto is a poor defender and a great hitter. The Mets or other teams might be desperate to get him. Desperation is not a need.
Soto is one of the best hitters in the game including playoffs. He won a world series already. He is only 26 years old . This dude doesn't know what he is talking about
And? Mookie Betts has won 3 World Series(Also won MVP when he was 26, unlike Soto who still has 0 MVPs. Mookie is also much better in the outfield). Mookie signed for 365 mil for 12 years at age 28 with the Dodgers. Soto is a HoF caliber player, doesn't mean he's worth over 600 or 700 million. Anyone who thinks he's worth that much doesn't know what they are talking about and has bought into brainless hype.
Agree Dan...when you get $3 mil in endorsements annually...that says alot about his marketability.

Soto's true value--->12yrs 440m

As a life long loyal mets fan , I hope we don't get soto , spread that money to other free agents that we need ,
TBF you guys are the team who can absolutely afford both Soto and any of the other free agents you want. Unless Cohen is all talk.
absolutely agree. he thinks he can match ohtani when he doesnt draw the same audience. smh. someone will pay him a truckload but they shouldnt.

Totally agree
Didn't Elly lead the league in K's (218)..??
Bounce around teams oops Soto you should apologize for being that good

He's not better than judge or ohtani. Not on the same level.
Prime Trout, Mookie and Harper were better than Soto too.
Soto has horrible defense. Even if he’s 40 homers 110 RBIs yearly not worth it

Soto is a overrated player.. mediocre defender and base runner..
