Funny story I always tell when Motorhead comes up. I ran into Lemmy one time in Vegas, and as we metal-heads all know, Ace of Spades is their most famous song. Lemmy was, is and always be the pure incarnation of rock’n’roll. He lived on top of his favorite bar, gambling, drinking whiskey, doing whatever drugs he wanted and rocking like no other….and he did that until he died! Also, remaining at the same time the coolest and humblest guy you could ever meet.
Fucking legend!
"Even for a rock band they seem wild". You nailed it with that quote.
Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see a different view of songs I listened to when they were fresh and maybe forgotten by me now! Or even ones I remember vividly the first time I heard them!!
Fantastic!!! Motorhead were at the fore of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. RIP Lemmy
Lemmy is a legends legend. I love the song he did with Ozzy called I ain't no nice guy
Gravelly raspy voice = "Chunky, like bumps along the road"
LOL - Love it!
The three amigos..the classic line up... sadly all three have passed away now.... I miss motorhead!!!
Both metal heads and Punks Loved MOTOR HEAD
Thy brought people together!
🤘🏼
Lemmy was so cool every heavy metal band respected him as a musician and a person even Ozzy was intimidated by him
Lex is a musical genius at some level. Has to be with her analysis and understanding.
I saw Motorhead live twice in one night on the Ace of Spades tour in Toronto in 1981.
My ears were ringing for a week, but it was worth it.
watching Lex get her heavy metal fix is a joy within itself - PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS!
Raw , load , and pure...... that's rock n roll!!!
I was there when this happened in the early 80s. The press hated them but the kids loved them. Lemmy was the epitome of rock n roll. This threesome gave us a decade of fun. Some of us still have the damaged eardrums to prove it.
One of many parts that makes rock, legendary.
England, 1970s - live gig - quite drunk on vodka and the loudest band ever - I was deaf for 3 days after seeing them but never forgot them - rip Lemmy - it was memorable!
The one and only, Lemmy. There will never be another like this man!! Legend
Lemmy is the Icon of the Icons. Dude was Rock and Roll through and through, it was a dark day when he passed.
"THESE guys get into bar fights!" The most hysterically perfect first impression ever!
The guy is singing about taking chances and living live to the fullest not just playing is safe and comfortable.
That drummer deserves a medal. Super athlete.
Lemmy did say (and sing) he didn't want to live forever. He probably lasted longer than he expected until the age of 70. He eventually died in 2015. This is one of the most iconic fast paced rock songs ever. That energy is infectious. Æx 🙏
Nice to see people still appreciating rock'n roll over 40 years later.
'Chunky' and 'Bumps in the Road' are perfect metaphors for Lemmy's voice 😁
Funny story I always tell when Motorhead comes up. I ran into Lemmy one time in Vegas, and as we metal-heads all know, Ace of Spades is their most famous song. The funny part is that when I saw him sitting there, he was on a slot machine, not a card table like you would think since AOS is about playing cards. LOL Anyway, he realized I saw him and he just looked at me while I looked at him. After a min of staring at each other, I figured it was getting awkward so I nodded, he nodded back and I went on about my business and he continued playing slots LOL RIP Lemmy
Wild and loud. Used to take a week to stop my ears ringing after going to their concerts.
Naw man, they kept fighting even after they were famous. Lemmy is the epitome of "flying by the seat of your pants", or "shoot from the hip". Also, a very down to earth guy in his very rare downtime, when he wasn't high or drunk as fuck. A true legend.
They were very very wild but much loved and respected. Motörhead's classic lineup was Lemmy, Eddie Clark and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor….all passed away now but it was surprising that they made it into their sixties !
