I have to say it is hard watching your video right now. about 2 months ago I found out that my mom watched your videos also. It was pretty cool to find that we liked the same things on UA-cam. It made us bond a little bit more. She has been fighting kidney cancer for the past 8 years. She always loved camping and wanted to go 1 last time. But as of June 8th she lost her fight with Cancer but is now able to do what you do up in heaven. Thank you for what you do and helping us get a little closer.
Sorry to hear about your mom. My dad died of pneumonia back in 2017. (I'm 40, he was 89.)

I am very allergic to bumble bee stings. I once had one sting me on the road with an open window. 30 miles later my arm was the size of a softball if not larger. Luckily, I have always been a heavy water drinker and had plenty on hand. I just started downing the water and according to the doctors when I reached my destination, that was my saving grace. I had to stop numerous times for obvious reasons and relieve myself. That removed most of the venom from my system. Bee stings are no joke! Take care brother!

Love your channel Luke. Susie it was so nice to see you. Don't be a stranger! Luke so glad the be sting was not any worse than it was. I carry an EpiPen and they have gone down in price... so much that my insurance covers me to have one. For a while it wasn't covered, but it now it's lower on cost due to Government cost resrictions. 😊❤

Luke, thank you for always being prepared! We watched the video when you were stung by yellow jackets- thank goodness you had what you needed so you could get to the hospital- and that Susie was there as well! For those who are highly allergic to any type of bee or wasp, BE PREPARED! Get that epi pen! It may be expensive, but think of it as an important piece of gear. It can save your life! (Susie you showed excellent common sense and were calm as you were performing first aid on Luke. Panicking during emergencies causes trouble and a higher heart rate, which spreads the bee/wasp poison quickly. By staying calm, Luke stayed calm…and the issue was resolved quickly with only a rash and a bit of sleepiness from the Benedryl) Have you had nursing experience? God bless you both…

So glad that you are OK Luke. My husband is hyper allergic to bee's so we always have a epinephrine injection. 2 of them just incase we are more than 30 miles from any hospital. They told us that any time he got stung that you have less time. So you have to be careful. Love to you camping together.

I always bring honey with me when I am out backpacking in the wilderness.😊
I pop open the top, and in a few minutes bees start appearing.
First one, then more as they signal other bees, to come for a drop of free raw unfiltered honey.😮
Bees are usually very docile.
I was stung a few times in the past when I inadvertently did something to threaten a bee.
Just a little pin prick that I ignored.😂

Watching your video from nine years ago after sweet Susie surgery. You guys are so adorable. I was worried about her doing all that hiking so soon but she's a WARRIOR. I saw the video when you were stung by bees. My heart hurt for you. My daughter is allergic to bees also. She's a forest service fire fighter. You should keep a pin with your gear.

Your bird story reminded me of a bird that would build a nest on my porch year after year. I walked out one morning to have my coffee and the mama bird sat on my railing just chirping away, loudly. As I got up and walked back to my front door, she didn’t move and just kept chirping. I just happened to look down and saw her babies on my porch, just below her nest, obviously not alive. I said “oh no! What happened?” And she chirps at me. I told her Don’t worry, I’ll take care of your babies for you. And she flew away. I didn’t see her again until the following year. Another time I was driving when this big buck stepped out into the road and just stood there staring at me. I come to a stop and he looks over his shoulder. Out comes momma and baby deer, crossing the road behind him. Once they got across, he followed them into the woods.
Watching Suzie makes me miss my cousin in CA She looks so similar to her. Even her voice sounds like her. LOL

Excellent video. High quality and a lot of editing time, so natural. The bee sting shows anything can happen in the back country and medical preparation is essential. Lastly, my daughter and I always pack one extra meal each: just for emergencies.when watching this video, you feel like you are part of the adventure.
Ouch! that hurts. I fell into a wasp nest as a kid playing street ball, got up and took off running for the end zone. All the other kids were yelling for me to stop but no way was I going to give up that goal. I felt the stings but thought it was stickers/thorns, the other kids came and knocked off the nest which was still clinging to my back, ever since I've not been bothered by wasp. Homogenized, synthesized, pasteurized, freeze dried, dehydrated....I get it but no thanks, too many alternatives out there..YMMV. Nice hike and camp as well as seeing Susie again, she's a trooper for sure. thanks for the video and work. See ya soon.
Luke, I have the same problem and my Doctor provided me with 2 autoinjectors that I can carry with me at all times to administer to myself in case of bee 🐝 stings to prevent me from going into anaphylaxis and not being able to breathe. It gets the medicine into your blood stream immediately and is a great comfort. Yellow jackets are known to build nests underground and they can swarm out in massive numbers very quickly. Glad you and Susie are OK 👍

We are both 66 now and the older We get the shorter the trip seems to be, please spend all the time You can together as life is a roller coaster of hills and all that, Yep Boys and Girls someday We will say You know it was all worth it.

Getting stung sucks. Glad you are okay. If that was me I would need my EPI pen and 8 Benedril. I am allergic to all bee stings. Never had any trouble till I was 35. Got stung and ended up in the hospital. Weird isn't it. Glad to see the Mrs with you. You two compliment each other so much. Love the scenery and the bear prints. Awesome video. I relaxed and watched. Ready for anything now.😊😊
I have extreme reactions to bedbug bites! The itching is absolutely 'unbearable'!!! 😮😢 Iam allergic to the saliva of the bug. Glad you are okay Luke! Good job Susie! ❤❤😊

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 I'm hiding out in the air conditioning as we're in a extremely high humidity condition right now. Yesterday it was 38 c with a 48 feel like. It was soooo uncomfortable. Not even just being still in the shade was doable. They sent the kids home early because our schools or busses have ac. All I'm concerned about is that my igloo will melt😅😅. I'm glad your adventure went well.. nice to see you Susie... stay safe😊
Glad you are ok Luke from the sting. Bee stings are painful, hornet stings are just as bad if not worse. Wasp stings do hurt but not as bad as the others. Bees only sting as a last resort as they die after stinging depending on the bee. Glad to see the two of you enjoying the over night camping.

I've been camping in tents since I was a kid, and never thought of tarps except as ground sheets. But after watching enough of these videos I bought a 10x13, mostly for car camping, but the idea of having a mesh tent with a tarp set up over it sounds like a good possibility for warm weather.

One of my favorite biscuit recipes calls for cheddar and crumbled bacon. Together with a good country gravy its to die for good!
I'm an older guy and I missed the Vietnam Draft because of my severe bee sting allergy. Older guys from my High School were drafted and died over there. I always have an Epi pen.I haven't been stung in 30 years but when I get stung (without using the epi pen) it takes about 3 minutes and the lymph nodes under my armpits swell up so much I cannot put my arms against my sides. Thank goodness for modern medicine.

I am a nurse so can take care of him. Glad your ok. nice little camp spot lovely weather, I just got back from camping in 40 Celcius weather that was nasty . biscuits n gravy sounds tasty going to have to give it a try. And as for as the baby bird, I would have tried to save its little life also. I have saved a baby squirrel, took care, of it before turning it over to Wildlife Rescue. It survived!

Hey Luke, I know you will not believe this but it is true. If/when you get stung again try putting shake & Bake on the sting sight. This will have to be moist (add water) and place on the site. The burning, redness, and soreness will dissipate quickly.

I have severe food allergies. I carry benadryl. I had an epipen once and my heart freaked out. It caused me to have a 6 1/2 hour heart procedure. I almost died half way through. Now I live full-time in my 4runner and adventure for my channel as much as possible.
I have to say that I am glad you are ok. My son has an anaphylactic allergy. He MUST carry 3 epipens to REDUCE the risk in everyday situations. We almost lost him last year. Please consider this when you are not close to medical back up.
You have to watch out for the “forest babes.” You might get a fungus. lol enjoy your videos

Great video together guys! Hey Luke, being allergic to bee's, in addition to an eppipen, I always carry a "copper" type coin with me and make it wet in my mouth and place on the bite to control the swelling, redness and overall reaction. Try it.

Carry a few cigarettes and keep fresh ones. If stung, chew up some of the tobacco and hold it on the sting. It will a lot of times draw out the poison and numb it so that it doesn't hurt. Done this many times on the farm with yellow jackets, red wasps, bumble bee and hornet (hurt like hell). Ice pack is great too. Maybe one those chill things you break and it chills. Great video. Glad you‘re okay Luke. I got stung by a tiny bee in the grass back when I was 18 years old. I had stepped out the back door with sandals on my feet and immediately felt the sting on my toe. Within 30 minutes my foot swelled to the point I couldn’t walk very well, my throat swelled up and it was getting bad. By the time I got to a hospital I desperately needed medical care. Had I been by myself I probably would have gone into shock and who knows what. Since then I have been stung a few times but not by the same type of bee and only had mild reactions. Hopefully I’ll never get stung again. I enjoyed seeing you and Susie camping together and look forward to more adventures. Have fun and keep on hiking! 👍😎
