I didn't understand the joke when he held the lighting in the previous episode. The BTS clips when the skin tone comparison between him and Woozi was pointed out - I finally understood the "joke." Let's just be honest and keep it real -they just trying to be funny. And most important thing globally, Mingyu is crushing the endorsements/ ambassadorships with Dior and Calvin Klein and skin care brand because he leans more towards a Western overall standard of male beauty and fitness. If he continues to improve his English (which I find adorable and feel proud), he has the looks, personality, and talent to break into international movies if he desires it. I agree. Also with regards to their korean fans btw. They dont mean it in a bad way (yes dk is mr sunshine himself and such a sweet soul) theyre just a part of a system (kpop industry but also korean society at large) and so they reproduce these beauty standards. But i wish theyd think about it a little bit more as theyre in positions that a lot of (younger) people watch them and look up to them - so even if there is no ill intention, there is still a responsibility to their (especially younger) fans to show them that all skin colours are beautiful (i would argue the same for body size etc.)

Don't need to take it at heart Mingyu was chill about it they would not have joked about it if he would be insecure at all. Don't need to hate others members too it was a light teasing which happens between close friends. We don't know them personally but they do know each other for 10+ years so they know what to joke and whom to joke!! I agree. Also with regards to their korean fans btw. They dont mean it in a bad way (yes dk is mr sunshine himself and such a sweet soul) theyre just a part of a system (kpop industry but also korean society at large) and so they reproduce these beauty standards. But i wish theyd think about it a little bit more as theyre in positions that a lot of (younger) people watch them and look up to them - so even if there is no ill intention, there is still a responsibility to their (especially younger) fans to show them that all skin colours are beautiful (i would argue the same for body size etc.)
No one is disregarding any skin colour. They were just joking with their members who are their friends. It’s not like that we never crack such jokes with our friends. Sometimes people need to chill and understand idols are humans too. People need to stop being sensitive in every little things that idol does.
Last week's 2 little episodes with the 2 teams were funny. But I realise Seventeen is the most fun and most funny when all of them are together! I love all my boys so much! ❤
