I don't know if he saw his bishop was hanging, but I'd taken it's a fork, that's why it was brilliant

I played brilliant a lot of times when i was 600 atleast 20-30
those were all opening brilliant moves though
I just memorised a few lines of some openings
its actually good to know how to punish some dumb openings

It used to be (idk how many years ago) that a Brilliant move was when you briefly played even better than Stockfish. Nowadays it just means you made a move that looked terrible at first glance but was actually kind of good.

The point of the brilliant move was infact not that it was to sacrifice the bishop to capture the rook through a fork

Hi there. You probably were already wondering where I was. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you:
0:25 It's the Queen's Gambit. The main responses against it are dxc4 (Queen's Gambit accepted), e6 (Queen's Gambit declined [QGD]) and c6 (Slav Defense)].
0:34 On your level (and probably mine too) it is not that important, but this is a slight strategic mistake here. One of the most important resources for black in the Queen's Gambit is the pawn move c5 to attack and undermine the white center. Developing the knight normally here blocks this pawn. Therefore it is better to either wait until you could get c5 in (without blundering that pawn obviously) or develop the knight to d7, where the knight supports the c-pawn once it is pushed. As I said, not so relevant on lower levels, where most games are decided but blunders in the middlegame, but maybe good to keep in mind still.
1:50 and there is the decisive blunder I was talking about that makes these slight mistakes not really important on the beginner level. Good find with the sacrifice.
2:51 This is presenting a problem for your opponent, but much like in real wars it is better to present your enemy a dilemma, because problems have solutions (here it is moving or defending the pawn) while dilemmas force the opponent to choose between two (or more) unpleasant possibilities. So Qg2 instead of Qh5 to attack both the rook and the pawn. After Rf1 you can take the pawn.
Second Game: Not much to say here that you didn't already talk about. Stop moving your f-pawn so early. At least until you're a couple hundred elo points higher.
Congrats to 100 subs btw even though I'm a bit late to the party, It is almost 150 already.

      0:25 understood
0:34 Okay, I see. Gotta think more carefully about that knight development so the c-pawn has more freedom in this line.
1:50 Yup, a slight oopsie from the opponent.
2:51 Here he could also go Rh2 I guess and then it doesn't seem too clear to be what should be the next moves 🤔
      Second Game: the f-pawn....
Thanks! The support has been insane from everyone.
Also thank you again for the analysis and breakdown 👍

Why play without increment? Increment means you don't have to worry about time as much. You still have to manage it, but it's not an auto loss if you run out, you just run into a buffer of a few seconds
Much easier to get better if time has some renewability to it and you're not burning it every second you spend thinking

    • @IdiotChess1
      @IdiotChess1  2 місяці тому

I like the idea that it's auto loss when you run out of time. I've never enjoyed playing with increment idk why. Prolly bcs it's more intense I guess 😅 but like you said probably not the best for learning and becoming better...

hi brother, you're really good, but if I had to say one weakness, it's a little bit of more tactics and strategic chess, sometimes your moves are "null," meaning it either has no threat, or has one but can be easily avoided, in

It is interesting to see chess at lower levels. The good old days of chess.
I am at a point where even bullet requires a lot of effort to just to match and outplay your opponent and all the moves being played in 3 seconds max. The rating is 1500.
Anyway, you can get higher than 1000 elo, definitely. I got through from 200 elo

By the way, the brilliant move thing is sometimes a bit broken. I had one for a sequence both me and my oponent saw and my oponent (who got the sacred move) lost few moves afterwards.

    Wow, you were right…
I really AM questioning everything I know about chess…
… apparently having 4 defenders on the f5 pawn is the secret to its immunity to all attacks. So, technically, you can turn yourself into an utterly invincible chess master as long as you have 64 defenders against your 16 pieces!
    Mind. Totally. Blown. 🤯
