- In a world of comic book investing, comic book speculation, FOMO after any new announcement and just spending money on the top 10 list garbage, I am focused on buying key comic books to build an incredible comic book collection 5 books at a time. If you just had these 5 books in your collection you would have a pretty cool eye catching collection in my opinion. These books can be expensive, but if you come up with a plan on how to save up for these you can achieve them. They can also be affordable as well. Cool keys do not have to be expensive keys. I really hope you enjoy this video an make sure to share the link with your friends as this is a very limited time offer.
Foundational Comic Books is a phrase I came up with to describe Universally Recognizable Key Issues. These are comics books that will increase the overall appeal and value of your collection on a broad basis. Obviously you want to collect what you like, but there are a lot of influential people that will tell you to buy 'Hot Books of the week'. Those comic books are fine, but they might not be recognizable to everyone or increase the value of your collection long term. Be weary when it comes to anyone telling you what you should buy.

Conan 23 isn't a cameo appearance of Red Sonja. That's her first appearance, and it's a full appearance. She's on several pages, in several panels, is a part of the story, and is named. Conan 24 is her first cover appearance.
Great list! Ever since you mentioned Foundational Comics, I’ve been on the hunt for these types of books. Last year, I picked up a pretty nice copy of Blip #1. Thanks to this video, I have 4 others to look for. Keep up the great work!
Marvel feature #1 was was Red Sonja's first solo series the one you have have is the second series

Great video, but sad news. We are heading down to Missouri next week to see friends and had planned a day to visit your local comic shop. But alas, they sold their comics. 😢
@@gnayr1305 let me know where in Missouri and I can make a few suggestions. If you’re near St Louis you will want to visit STL Comics for sure.
@@AlextheComicHoarder We actually went to STL Comics on our last trip per your recommendation (and we mentioned your name). We actually lived in St. Louis for several years, so I’m very familiar with the comic book scene, but your 2 recommendations outside of the city were on our radar. I sure miss the Shrewsbury shows. 😉

THIS was a powerful video for me. Sincerely. I have a personal relationship with all of the comics you showed. I've seen them over and over in dollar bins and long boxes. I even own two of them! YOUR video compelled me to put the rest on my want list and I HATE doing that! I really want to finish my list before I die and every comic I add makes it harder. I added THREE comics to my want list because of YOU! I'm going to track them down and buy them. I'd like to make a video that tells if I thought they were worth it. I'm going to be honest. Is that OK with you?
P.S. You should know that the cards are stacked against you. I have passed on those three comics for DECADES. I've seen them and flipped through them and never owned them. I own some crap comics. They're just noteworthy enough to keep. Barely. THOSE three (Devil Dinosaur, Red Sonja, Blip) were below them. I promise to go in with an open mind though. No preconceptions. An honest review of the comics you recommended. Also, I'll get nice copies. A comic's condition impacts my experience.

@@thecomicsamurai I get it! Only buy them obviously if it’s a good deal in the condition you want. I love finding books in the wild. I hardly ever chase these types of book on eBay or other places like that. I also pass typically if the book has a premium value on it. I look forward to seeing your thought my friend.
