I initially chose the way of Bhoga. Indulging every desire to the nth degree. I thought it was fun; it wasn't. All that was left is the the vast emptiness bigger and darker than before. This is exactly what led me to search for who I am. On this road of discovery, I'm seeing clearer than ever before and that I am already everything I could ever want. I always have been.

In my first few years of DJing, playing shows, my self worth was defined around how many shows I'd played and I was basically living for the dopamine rush I'd get from playing shows and accomplishing things.
I remember getting myself all hyped for this one trip that I had lined up to go travel someplace I'd never been and play this gig that was huge for me, and I was living for that trip for months leading up to it.
The trip and the gig was awesome, but I remember the day after I played the show, I was overcome with this feeling of hollowness.
I was still out of town and had a few days left in the trip, and instead of going with the flow and just enjoying the rest of the trip I was sitting there like, "Well what now?" Now I realize that it was because the thing I'd been attached to for so long (the gig) had just come and gone and so I didn't know what to do with myself. I remember that moment so strongly, and I credit that moment as one of the first of many signs to come that I'd spent too much of my teens and early 20s attaching my identity to things. people, experiences, and accomplishments.
I didn't know any better at the time, but I had been chasing after temporary shit that would never give me lasting happiness.

Rush had a song that always rang true for me, where they said "test for echo." I never understood exactly what they meant with that verse until just now when I watched this video. It suddenly hit me that when some desire echoes in your being it is either self or the universe telling you to let it go. Wow, it feels like a breath of fresh air just blew through me. Thank you so much for the insight.

"Knowledge is not the motivation for learning this course. PEACE is. As the PREREQUISITE for knowledge, peace MUST be learned. This is ONLY because those who are in conflict are not peaceful, and peace is the CONDITION of knowledge because it is the condition of the Kingdom. Knowledge will be restored when YOU meet its conditions.
Think not you understand ANYTHING, until you pass the test of perfect peace, for peace and understanding GO TOGETHER, and never can be found alone. Each brings the other WITH it, for it is the law of God that they be not separate. They are cause and effect, each to the other, so, where one is absent, the other CANNOT be."

Being present and looking at life through the eyes of the being lets you see the greatness of the universe, alive pure love. Your peace of mind does not depend on "external stuff", but one can still enjoy life being completely awake. There is no desire when one knows everything is his already, since everything is inside him. Putting ones happyness on a desired outcome comes from separation, but this is an illusion since everything is One. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24. Namaste ❤️🙏

Aaron I'm on lesson 28 and also listenened to your explanation of a course in miracles. Got to tell you this is an apythany to me AMAZING.. ESPECIALLY 28,it makes so much truth and sence especially when I contenplait thought and things that have happened due to attachment and none attachment. I think we defo take life to serious especially when it comes to be awakened. IT IS TRULY WHAT WE ALREADY ARE. and yes when I examine live living through me the knower was there always being masked always by the human senses at play running the show on the screen of life. Behind it all is the true knower awareness of everything constantly giving giving giving in every way shape form thought of love. We as egos just never stop to see and truly feel. We always play the victim of circumstances without truly realising that it is all just human senses desires judgements we are letting control us. When all along this screen of life playing a roll was rely never what we thought.
It is just a screen that we can change, turn of or flick channels, so beautiful the oneness and simplicity of the gift given to us. But oh what a relief to know we can let go of trying to get, have, process, own, pain suffering, what I am trying to say is... Nothing but perfect peace come when we get out of the way of our selves. And just let truth flow. Let go let God..... This understanding in any situation or contemplation is Amazing. Your explanation of desire and what that word rely means is just so..... Well I can't find the words..... but thank you fits my heart. ♥ And if its right with Christ it's right with God xx Nothing on the outside no motive no ego just perfection in each moment within.

Now if this isn’t perfect timing.. 🙌🏼
In the past couple weeks I have made it my number 1 focus to live from a state of total acceptance & harmony with the flow of life. To simply let life move through me; and show me what needs to be said and done.
And to just ask “How can I surrender more?“. whenever I notice any kind of resistance kicking in.
Not only has this practice brought me SO much peace.. I feel like the more I can deepen this intention, the more things are just starting to flow and align by themself❤️

I really liked how Mooji taught about this subject. Essentially what he said was that our true nature, which is peace and happiness, is being molested constantly by the desires of the mind. The mind selects an object of desire that it doesn't possess, and projects value onto it. In doing so it projects its happiness outside of the present moment (which is the only place happiness can be found), and then constantly longs for and searches to attain this desire.
So the happiness that we experience upon fulfillment of our desires isn't because of the attainment of what it is we longed for, but rather it is the CESSATION of the molestation of our true nature by the mind. This cessation of desire and craving allows our peace and happiness to return.
So in other words it's like desire is an itch begging to be scratched, and what we experience from the fulfillment of the desire is just the relief of scratching the itch. And so we can now sit in presence undisturbed.

I'll watch this episode every day for a week and give it my full attention knowing it will cause a progressive shift in my sub conscious and perception.
Repetition is the best way for me too catch something. I want, and know I need.
My new mindset is, I love doing the work. The payoff is guaranteed.
Thanks again. Mark Anthony Lord, is supper sincere and genuine, and is one of my top favorite collaborations you do. It definitely resonates with a need, or hurdle I have with condemnation, or expectation that's blocking the freedom of my fruitful spirit.
I remember I knocked on a wealthy church door once, to give 5 dollars, the parking lot was full of Mercedes Benz, and cars the like. It wasn't a main gathering day, but I did it mostly out of fear, the pastors wife answered, and I told her I just wanted to give this, once she knew I was safe, very quickly with her big smile invited me to start attending. I said no, I would feel to uncomfortable, she said why, ..... honestly I feel out of, "class" and I like to get high, smoke herb, and she said with a big smile, "come high!"
That took me by surprise, I never went, but that encounter I'll never forget. She had a very different relationship with Jesus Christ, like she had been set free from sin. Like it didn't exist anymore in her life. Like she took the mental bolt cutters to the yoke that was binding her, she knew what actions would yield what, and what guilty feeling was good, and what guilty feeling was a lie.
    (I don't know, I could just tell.)
Anyways, must be just as natural as breathing, like yours and Mark's relationship with Jesus Christ is.

I think that as time goes on, the more we learn how to let go of some things in life that we start to realize is weighing us down. As we get older, life becomes more heavy, more dense. We cant hold onto the things we once did when we were younger and stronger. But we can let go the things keep us down, making us smarter, more wise, and more happy. When these concepts really settle in and activate in practice, it is immediately useful and life changing. Sending love and light your way! 💜

I needed to hear this 💛🌻 I’m slowly but surely beginning to understand. It’s reassuring to hear these words of wisdom; here I thought I was living less by accepting reality and making the best out of what I face as a lesson or experience that’s helping me more in what I need more than what I thought I wanted...If that makes sense? This is defiantly thought provoking 🤍 especially in understanding the importance of not avoiding struggle and knowing one’s self at any cost.

Mindblown, I've been thinking of how great it would be to listen to you giving your perspective and expanding upon attachment, desire and suffering, because they're things that I've been wanting to understand better in myself, in order to overcome them and without fearing them, but by seeing through them and having them become clear in me, for me, to me. So... you can imagine my jaw dropped when I saw this being the latest MindScience update and this wondering wish to see your perspective suddenly becoming the reality, haha ! I'm so grateful for this new insight, everything you say and how clear you explain it, just instantly clicks, it makes sense to our inner self and it dissolves any fears or resistance as you expand upon the subject and align with awareness - thank you.
Back in 1716 a samurai by the name of Yamamoto Tsunetomo, who wrote the Hakagure, the Book of the Samurai to give samurai wisdom and guidance through their mission, wrote a beautiful statement that reminded me of what you're speaking about at the end, on how our true desire is to experience ourself and to be present with this feeling of fulfillment by, well, being, by experiencing our presence, our consciousness of being.
I'll add the full statement here, for the fun of it, just because it blows my mind how accurate this is, today :
"There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. Life is a succession of moment after moment.
If you fully understand the present moment, there will be nothing else to do and nothing else to pursue other than this experience.
Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.
Everyone lets the present moment slip by, then looks for it as though they thought it were somewhere else.
No one seems to have noticed this fact.
Grasping this firmly, you must pile experience upon experience, and once you have come to this understanding,
you will be a different person from this point on, even if you may not always bear it in mind.
When you understand this settling into single-mindedness, your affairs will thin out.
Loyalty is also contained within this single-mindedness" (of experiencing this present moment)
    - Hagakure. The Book of the Samurai, 1716, Yamamoto Tsunetomo
(fun fact, this book is read by and quoted by the main character in Jim Jarmusch' Ghost Dog, by the way)

I think desire are really just expectations of the physical body. For example, we desire water because we need it, and we need it because the physical body is expecting it. In fact, we probably are nothing more than a complex system of expectations. When those expectations are fulfilled, my guess is that we feel pleasure. And when they are not fulfilled, I guess we feel pain.
And I guess ethics is the way we take care of the health of the universe
