Being only a fan of one of those (Undertale) I'm hopelessly confused on the origin or this song XD I guess Toby just uses it in all his works? (not that I blame him its awesome.)

Megalovania actually is the one from Earthbound Halloween Hack, just with added guitar parts! XD It even uses the same earthbound type instruments the hacked used.

Oh gawd, I'm an Earthbound and Homestuck fan, and seeing all these comments is so frustrating! This was originally in an Earthbound Halloween Rom Hack, by Radiation. Radiation remade it in Homestuck. End. Of. Story.
Played the rom hack funny but also disturbing...
IKR. The same guy made both of them. There's no point arguing which one is "original" or "better".
Also, people that played the hack need to stop act so entitled. The Halloween hack is barely on anyone's radar. I have a friend that loves the shit out of Earthbound but has never heard of the hack. Homestuck is everywhere. You can't go calling people out just because they know more about Homestuck then a hack of an old video game.

I never played Earthbound (though I've been meaning to for a long time), and I never would've known about the hack without this song, and I never would've known about this song if I weren't a Homestuck fan in the first place...
People acting like Homestuck is the be-all and and end-all usually irk me too, as much as I love it - because Hussie borrows and integrate tons of stuff in his writing, both to earlier work of his and external sources. But HS fans won't necessarily have the same references as connoisseurs, and those I think have to accept that they don't know, at least at first. Heck, being a curious cat myself, I'd say that _learning_ about these tons of stuff, subcultures, music, vidyagames, 90's movies and what have you, is a big part of the fun in reading MSPA.

Thank you very much. I am a fan of all 3 and love all versions of Megalovania to bits. It makes me so upset when members of the 3 fandoms, all of which I'm part of, begin to argue over this song. I mean, I guess it fits in with the theme of the song, which is obsession with your own importance and power, and the fandoms are all obsessed with their version of Megalo, claiming their version is the best, but that's just kind of stupid. So if you ask my opinion, they should try listening to another song: "Why Can't We be Friends?"

i may have bin introduced to the undertale version first but it is SO HARD to pick a favorite out of the 3. I like the energy of the undertale version, the unique parts of the homestuck version, and the creepyness of the original.

There are many MeGaLoVanias: Earthbound HH, Homestuck, CogDis and finally undertale.
You are, quite possibly, the most talented composer I have come across in my entire time on UA-cam. You amaze me and awe me. I compose, but I have never been able to retranscribe to this extent, nor craft anything quite like you. I am in awe, and I await eagerly what is to come next on this channel.
What i really like about this cover is that instead of just being the original but orchestrated, it does actually take its liberties in the melody, wich makes this cover a really unique one.
