This was our goto hotel in early 90s. Was Howard Johnson then changed to Claremount and was beginning of the end. In its hayday, the pool was awesome as was the hottub. Rooms were soso but if on a budget it was the place too stay!! Thx for this video
This is great! I’ve always wanted to stop by these abandoned hotels but legit get so scared!! Great content especially during this spooky month!
Thank you so much!! Ohhh for sure it was scary but worth it to show what it looks like! Thank you for the comment and I hope you have a great day!!!
“You never know who you’re going to run into” me casually running into Tom Holland at this Inn
Love watching these abandoned vlogs! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! Will do!! Hope you have a great day!!!
My wife used to work there around 1998 or so and it was indeed a beautiful property. Don't understand a group of real estate lawyers owned it but they were never hotelers.
I wonder if the checkers hamburger stand is still across the street?
Across from it is a Chick-fil-A but the checkers is a little down the road next to old town. Did she like working at the hotel when it was open?
So sad to see this, because the first time I stayed in Kissimmee back in 1993, this was the very hotel I stayed in. At the time it was a Howard Johnson I believe and Virgin Holidays used it because of it’s proximity to DisneyWorld. The rooms were small, but perfectly adequate and it seemed like a really nice place to stay. It was just across the road from Old Town as well if I remember correctly. A real shame to see it in such bad condition, especially because you would assume that it would still be a profitable place to run at such a great location. On another visit a couple of years later, I stayed at what was then known as the Wilson World Maingate, which was a little further down the road, and I believe that that is no longer there, which again, is a real shame.
It truly is a shame all the smaller hotels are closing their doors and either sit there abandon or are getting demolished. With this hotels being so close to Disney they should be able to make a good profit. I’ll have to see if the other hotel is here still or what has happened to it. Thank you so much for the amazing comment and letting me know some of the story. Hope you have a great day!
@@CorExplorations Hey, thanks very much for the reply. I’ve always liked staying in the Kissimmee area and prefer it to International Drive if I’m honest. So many places that I remember seem to be gone, although I’m glad to see that Old Town is still going strong. Obviously nothing can compete with Disney, but Old Town was always a great place to just wander around away from the theme parks. Finding anything about the Wilson World seems to be almost impossible on UA-cam, with the exception of a very old camcorder video from the early 90’s. Like many other places, it also underwent a variety of name changes over the years. I remember there was a Denny’s and McDonald’s very close to it, but whether or not it’s still there, I don’t know. Love your videos, so please keep ousting them. Have a great day!
@@luciferbox5577 it’s absolutely my pleasure! I know the McDonald’s and Denny’s are still there but I’ll have to drive around that area and see what else remains. Thank you again so much for the comment and if you want me to go and see anything else that you remember just let me know. Hope you have an amazing day!
Stayed somewhere near here in 1988. I was trying to find it on Google which led me here! I remember it being east of Medieval Times. I think it was called Kissimmee Oaks or similar, opposite a single storey buffet restaurant called Farmers. The rooms had access from an external deck at the front like this (no internal corridor). We hired a Pontiac Lemans (which despite the cool name was the UK equivalent of a Vauxhall Astra)
Used to be a days inn, me and my parents would stay here every time we stayed in Kissimmee!
It’s a nice location and nice spot that they just need to fix up… I’ve driven past it a few times since making this video and they still haven’t updated it or changed much just adding more gates to keep people out… hopefully they will make it a Days Inn or something again. It’s a popular area!
Was Howard Johnson then Claremount never a Days Inn
this place must have been busy when water mania was open🥲
It was bought out in I think 2012 and they would not honour the reservations from the Snowbirds. I stayed in the Rodeway next door and all the Canadians had booked into it instead. Guess they never went back so it closed before me next trip in 2016.
Thank you for sharing!!! I’ve driven past it a few times and it all most still looks the same. They did put up a fence around the property keeping people out but nothing else has changed.
There's quite a few empty hotels on 192
It seems like a lot of the smaller hotels are the ones impacted.

Thank you for the amazing comment and he is an amazing youtuber! I hope you have a great day!
Stayed here in 1994 when it was the HoJo Inn. Room 2304, such a shame to see it like this, Water Mania next door also gone, is IHOP still next door?
Wow I also stayed there in 1994 in the same room.
