- Minggu is 6 months old and she is ready to climb and eat some bits. She definitely loves mommy's ape cookies! Seeing her climb on her own was wonderful! And after she was real close to the window which made my day! I loved spending a few hours in the orangutan building. Don't worry they have an outside habitat. I know it looks all a bit old and people may think it's sad. But they have a lot of stuff to play in there and it's pretty big.

I just love their hair, it looks like they're wearing a red cloak or a shroud, and of course baby is a real little cutie.

No problem, you're very welcome. In general when people ask nice, I'll always try to answer. I take time to reply to the people who are sincerely interested and stay nice to me. I have a problem with people who assume things are wrong. I respect these animals so much. And I would never post anything online of animals who live in a bad environment. Because it makes me even as sad as most people to see animals who do not get the best they can have. But people forget often that a little film is just a little amount of time out of the day. And orangutans and gorilla's in the Netherlands do not always like the weather so they prefer to stay inside although they have a choice. Hope it answers a bit more about my content and the way I give info ;). Have a nice day!

terry ford Orangutans have one of the closest mother/infant bonds in the animal kingdom. The baby stays with the mother for up to eight years before striking out on his own.

I wonder how the keepers discovered that orangutans liked a big sheet to cover themselves and babies with?
They do like to sit under big banana leafs in the wild. But besides that they try out a lot of material they might like and is safe for them to use/play with ;).

Just like in an airplane, you, the adult puts the oxygen mask on first before helping your kid. Here the mother feeds herself first to be able to feed her baby 😄😄😄😄😄

Muy bonitas imagines, claro que si no fuera por la que lo filma, yo no vería éstos jamás, aunque me plantea el dilema, de que si un animal ha de estar en cautividad, sólo para que yo pueda verlo... Es agobiante, hasta la orangután, hay un momento en que se esconde detrás de la manta...

I really detest seeing these beings in a zoo, l know its for the best in the foreseeable future. Wildlife sanctuaries are more psychologically conducive for them..
Animals live longer in zoos, because they have everything they need, and they are well taken care of. Besides, it sure doesn't look like these orangs are unhappy, does it? Shut the fug up.

What is the reddish\orange stuff the Mom is eating out of her hand in the beginning of the video?
It is like kibble for dogs but than ofc for orangutans. It has vitamins and minerals in then they need. And they really like it, just like cookies for us ;)

Baby orangutans live on breastmilk for a few years. It's very special and wonderful to see this mum shares her food already with her baby within the first year. Most other orangutan moms take all the food and keep it for themselves because their babies have the breastmilk. So she isn't greedy at all but very generous ;).
