    16:47 The house in the middle used to be the house of my great-grandfather and grandfather. The appearance has changed a little since I last visited there in 2005 and 2009. Thank you for your video, it bring the good old time memories.

      @@yanyangoaroundinchina Yes, keep on the good work. This Sulistio guy must be Hakka Indonesian. Most Hakka Indonesian haven't lost their pride of being Chinese, unlike the Fukien Indonesian who have become anti-China, even anti-Chinese. Such a shame.

    I am of Hakka origin. My name is Chen Sem. My grandfather migrated to Jamaica where my father was born. Our ancestral village was called Ten Sin Wei in Guandong province. Some of our family also ended up in Malaysia. I would love to hear more about my family

    @yanyangoaroundinchina Gr8 video. I would be the 4th generation overseas born Hakka. I am trying to trace my great grand father's family tree. Do you know where to start? Or maybe just do a vid on the
    劉 clan around the 新 安 area.

    • @yanyangoaroundinchina
      @yanyangoaroundinchina  Рік тому

      新安县 is Shenzhen + Hong Kong. Do you know where in 新安?I don't know how people usually do that. Maybe consult a local Hakka association or something. I'm sure there are Hakka associations in Shenzhen. Or you can contact 深圳侨办。

      @@yanyangoaroundinchina Its 新安布各
      張格唐. I think 布各 is the old name . I was told it is 布各 ,格唐. There must be an Ancestral Hall there.

      @@brandonlow9811 I think it points to 布吉,a Hakka area in Shenzhen, which belonged to 新安。There is indeed a 格塘村there. 1.6km away in 布吉南门墩,there is an ancestral hall for 刘氏。 I suggest you start from there. Search 布吉南门墩on Baidu Map. For historical background about Shenzhen Hakka, you can check my video ua-cam.com/video/alFEmclWNdU/v-deo.html

    It made me really think, no wonder back in ancient times the bigger the family. The bigger the ambition to rule the lands, just a Zhang clan can do this much. It really makes me want to marry many woman to start a very big family 😂. Thanks for the tour and history very eye opening.

      Very nice, so good to follow your footsteps and discover the history of the peaceloving Hakka aristocrats migration south just to avoid the barbarians and war with them and living in fortresses of their own family in the mountains.

    Thank you for making this video. I learned a lot from this video and was able to relate to the trip I took to this village few years back to learn about our ancestors. Is there a soft copy of the family tree book available?
