As per codes and other sources, and also my 3yr lab experience I've noticed high carbon bars have more tensile strength and it is less ductile.
Also Carbon has nothing to do with corrosion..it's Fe2O3, carbonation occurs in concrete, and it needs to be prevented before it reaches the bar (total cover).
