Yes dear ,The black pot that you showed us Maitreyee is from the northeast. Manipur, Nagaland and outskirts of Meghalaya specialise in this type of pottery. The clay turns black when baked and they intensionally let the smoke blacken the pottery giving it an feel of almost being made of stone. Hence also called stoneware. Love the ceramics you bought. Good choice. The crochet throw is too too good. I make bags.
