Two years later, a second Thank You. It's been my custom to read a Charles Dickens book every Christmastide, and this year it's to be Hard Times. Dombey and Son was kind of a slog.

If you can find a copy, Joan Lindsay's "Picnic at Hanging Rock," another mystery with no solution (though in that case, it was due to the solution being deemed unsatisfying - you can find the original final chapter online).

Steven Rowand I'm going to have to find a copy of that somewhere! I had never heard of it before but after a little googling it looks really weird and awesome, thanks for the rec!

There is a BBC adaptation of Edwin Drood which the ending is that John Jasper is the older illegitimate brother of Edwin and as Jasper was an opium addict he mixed up his desire to kill Edwin with the fact he killed their father the year before so in my opinion this would have been the true ending to the book Edwin goes Egypt but doesn't tell anyone about he discovers the truth about John Jasper and the Landless twins being his siblings and Jasper sadly thinks he killed Edwin but really he hasn't sadly while Edwin tries to tell Jack he's alive and well Jasper who is still under the impression of opium doesn't see that Edwin is alive and not a ghost sadly he kills himself
Matthew Rhys plays the role of Jasper in this adaptation and he's fucking amazing

I have an opportunity to buy a vintage copy of this book. Yes I'm aware of the fact that it's unfinished. I was wondering if it was a good story If anybody knows please let me know and thank you for your time
