Wow jeez what an insanely satisfying rigged run as Tainted Isaac, Polyphemus, Brimstone, Cricket's Head, Ipecac, Infestation 2, Magic Mushroom, Cricket's Body, Almond Milk, Glitched Crown, Inner Eye, Host Hat, Parasite. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth was great, Afterbirth was cool Afterbirth+ was like, eh, it's okay, and then Repentance came and was like BAM this is the best DLC EVER. The best mods like Q4 Isaac dance and banger songs like Innocence Glitched and Machine in the walls (my personal favorite) BIG C Section Brimstone Tech X fetuses' with ghost pepper synergies have so much potential. Add Soy Milk and Rock Bottom for a free win. Those items would be so OP together. The greatest synergy of all time. First floor is Ultra Hard, boss rush can be hard to get to. Good thing mom's knife didn't show up because that wouldn't have been fun. Even though I would of liked that item. I also like, Death Certificate, Damocles, Crickets Head, Rock bottom, Magic Mushroom and Godhead. Psy Fly, Revelation, Twisted Pair, D6 or Spindown Dice would be a cool synergy to have. Edmund Mcmillen created Super Meat Boy and I think he is a angel room enjoyer. Though Devil rooms can be Isaac Pog too, sometimes its a missed rare opportunity 0.1%. Sometimes when I get C section or Glitched Crown I laugh at my free win. Polyphemus Crickets Body Proptosis soy milk Sacred Heart + Holy Light and +10 Luck from perfection is my favorite combo. Need me some Lavencas Luck. When I get dead eye incubus R key Red key mega mush spirit sword and brimstone with ipecac it feels like a won run especially with monstros lung and tech X. I love playing the lost and tainted lost, and rerolling is always fun. I also love planetarium items. The Binding of Isaac Repentance is a pretty hard game but I enjoy it, I remember How to unlock the Lost, and it suvks because its RNG. Fighting Hush Delirium Mega Satan The Beast and Mother are all fun. I love synergies and bad items. This is 1,000,000% swear on dead gods name that this description isn't only for keywords. Completely agree with your backroom take. "Spooky monster" is much less scary than an infinity of impossible, empty architecture. You can run, you can hide; it doesn't matter. The humming of an infinity of neon light echoing through an infinite empty hallway makes my spine shiver in a way that is truly unique. I always imagine that you do not die of starvation or thirst, it's a glitch in reality and you are stuck in your current state, you're essentially damned to purgatory.
That makes me imagine the idea that because of the nature of the backrooms you can't die no matter how damaged your body is. Like your HP is "bugged" and you just can't die. doesn't matter if you haven't eaten or drunken anything in 2 years, or if you tried to end your suffering by falling somewhere. Even if you are basically a blood spatter you will just suffer eternally. The idea of just stumbling across the body of someone who has gone mad from the pain of being a broken corpse for all eternity is spine chilling.

Back in the day vine showed how profitable it is to prey on lowered attention spans of younger people who use technology. Now tiktok took our attention spans and hammered em into nothing. Its why people of this generation and many following wont be able to enjoy some of the more complex or subtle forms of media and entertainment. I personally think its also why good cinema and gaming died sometime after the 90s and early 2000s

Your take about the backrooms was very based, it was much better when it was more original, the mystery of an empty sub-space that you could "slip" into was much more intriguing (to adults), I think. Plus, SCP already did the whole "creepy and odd monsters/objects" thing, but I think what ended up happening is that Gen Z wanted to have their own version of SCP and kids found the original idea behind the backrooms a little boring, so they started making changes, and just never stopped... I mean the backrooms wiki people literally turned it into a Zelda dungeon level, where there's like a thousand different levels of horror before you can escape, which is so cheesy lol. I also find it funny that people on most social medias say they vehemently hate 4chan, but then all their coolest ideas become radically popular and yet, nobody says anything about that lol.

Both SCP and the backrooms started on 4chan. Both of them became shit the moment 4channers stopped being involved.
SCP became LGBTSCP where all the monsters became tumblr tier fanfiction bullshit or power scaling autism, and you already know about the backrooms.
People hate 4chan because any idea that goes against the mainsteam narrative is viewed as evil and should be erased. Many people outright call for the eradication of such kinds of free speech, labelling it as "hate speech" and therefore should be illegal.
I personally don't care about any of that shit, but people should be allowed to do whatever they want, regardless of what it is. 4chan, being a place with basically no rules (aside from stay on topic, or don't post CP or porn on a blue board) breeds this kind of creativity.
Worse yet, the cool ideas they make drop in quality once people start to change it. SCP started there and the mods started to become reddit, because they came from tumbler and reddit
The idea that you can escape and that there are multiple levels on the backrooms make it sound more like a game rather than horror
You fall into error room because of Pluto being weird and making your hitbox very very silly and allowing you to clip through some things
You can't do this if you just small

if you don't have Pluto, you can become smaller 5 times then you can bomb yourself into error room through crawls space down corners

Glitched Crown IS better than Sacred Orb, but with Sacred Orb you don't get that moment where you're kinda bored of trying to get the right item.
I like the idea of the like, the first few floors. Make them all liminal spaces, and maybe one has some monster thing. But the main horror becomes what could be, and the helplessness

Honestly, A24 is one of my favorite studios. They make great slow burn horror movies, which I feel would add to the exploration of a liminal backrooms film

I like your take about the backrooms movie and I have to say I agree. What if occasionally through through the movie certain things are heard or seen? Like at some point you hear some very quite distorted crying or an extra set of footsteps when character/s aren't moving? a long set of grey fingers disappearing behind a distant wall in the background, etc
Regarding the backrooms, I think the more explanations, descriptions and visual representations we get, the less scary it becomes, so a film wouldn't be ideal. But if there is going to be one, I'd say your idea is pretty good.
The backrooms were indeed better in the original post. The appeal and terrifying nature of the concept comes from how it's familiar yet something is really off, how it's almost infinite, a maze of nonsensical arquitecture, the FEELING that somethig bad could happen any moment and the hopelessness of being alone yet fearing that you are not, that there might be something else lurking in a corner.
It's a wonderful concept, really, though I'd say I'd have liked it even more if the original post didn't strongly hint at a monster being there. The original idea works because you only know enough about it to put yourself in that place, the rest is left to your imagination. But only late teens or adults can picture the existential dread such a situation would cause, how easily it would drive you insane. Kids, or people who didn't experience certain things, can't, so when it reached them, creating monsters seemed necessary to them for the idea to be creepy, and it went down hill from there. It's such a shame.
Sorry for the looooong comment, it just frustrates me to see the downfall of such an eerie and original horror-story-thingy.
I so agree with you on the back rooms. At this point it is just a new SCP but the og rooms are scary because you’ll die in there and it’s because of nothing.

Based Mattman, I loved the concept of the backrooms as something to play with paranoia, fear and hopelessness. Adding critters and monsters just feels like cheating and takes all the mystique away. But it is understandable as well that that kind of horror is more subjective and harder to transmit. If someone is not willing to suspend disbelief, this kind of scenarios become waaaay harder to get into compared to *le spooky monster appears in le screen

If your hitbox is small enough, you can clip through the walls of the crawl space (since they are obstacles). Leaving crawl spaces from unintended places sends you straight to the error room

I love SCP, and there’s definitely a lot of potential in complex stories with many different entities and details, but the appeal of backrooms was completely different. Kane’s videos are super cool and interesting, but they didn’t really have to be the backrooms exactly. It’s just an interesting anomalous space. Unfortunately, the liminality is lost

Also, you give up the comfort of alt floors since you can see that whatever you dont like you can just not pick and you will still have a great chance of getting a good item whilst with glitched you exhaust the pools extremely fast and can still get screwed over!
