This video walks you through the supplies & steps of caping & coring big hole beads, from start to finish.
Here's a few of the supplies I use in this video...
▪ EuroPower Large Hole Punch Pliers - 7/32" punch.
▪ center punch
▪ 24 gauge copper sheet (that I acid etched a texture/design into, but you can use plain copper sheet).
▪ Swanstrom Round Disc Cutter (other less expensive brands out there, but the centering dies are a must have)
▪ Harbor Freight Doming Block & Punch Set
▪ 5mm* Sterling tubing (NOT thick wall)
▪ Harbor Freight 2" Mini Cut-Off Saw
▪ square mini diamond file
▪ Bead Liner Press (mine is a Nortel, there is also a Jim Moore version & other different/smaller tools out there that can help get the job done)
▪ Rawhide Mallet
*I used to use 5.08mm sterling tubing (0.200") so that the lined beads could be used with a Pandora bracelet, but that size isn't made anymore, so if you want to line beads to work with Pandora beads, you'll have to go up in diameter to 5.5mm & either double dip your mandrels or ream the bead hole out more to fit the tubing. I settled on the 5mm tubing, my beads don't tend to be bracelet size anyway! :)
