    Ok, but in my experience it is lateral strength as well . Balance in older people is v. important. Falling is a major health concern. Rolling ankles left and right strengths them and protects
    I do this from a simple wu ji posture . [40 yr tai chi practice now 79 yr age]

    Yes, the first exercise should be modified for people who are too stiff. One can’t get any leverage to move the ankle if one can’t even wrap ones hands around the foot.

      Greetings. Basically any other calf muscle stretching exercise would do, for starters. Of course, it is recommended that one should try to improve gradually. Take your time, but don't be lazy. ^^ Thank you.

    I have difficulty doing these moves, because my left knee have pain when go down too far and put load on the left foot while bending it. I may have some injury in left knee.
