I love the GST it just looks like it is made better. It's also so eye catching, but I prefer silver hardware on it though. I feel that the classic tote looks so chinsy. It's pretty but it almost just looks like a really nice laptop case or something. I think Chanel should make both. The GST for girls like me that use it for everything, and then the classic for a more subtle look for people who would use it more gently.
There is no comparison, Karl Lagerfeld designed! I own 3 xl GST (black, red, stone caviar) circa 2010. I have used my bags (I’m not easy on my bags ) I had 4 babies in 4 years and used these bags as diaper bag/purse. In other words everything has been spilled on them and they were in 100s of shopping carts , and hockey locker rooms playgrounds, snowed on….dropped everywhere. So how do my bags look after all the daily abuse? Pristine! There’s nothing like this bag! It’s meant to be used. Wipe it off a little leather cleaner perfection.

I have the same tote, just purchased. The straps stay put, unlike the GST which I returned when bought for the very reason the straps would not stay on.. Plus, the GST is far heavier, so it was uncomfortable to wear for any length of time.
Called a Metal T-Bar. Metal circulars are called metal grommets. Back pocket called Mona Lisa pocket. Attached strap called a key fob strap. I had the calfskin TT brand new from boutique, sat in my closet for a year, never used. I sold it and just bought a pre-loved top condition GST black shw; I personally do not like T-Bars, because they can come out and literally leave you hanging; I've lost jewelry that had such closures, and one strap popped off from an original Trendy CC as soon as it arrived home. Returned it (2019) and just replaced it with the iconic silver/silver 21C, which has the secured flat bead. Thank You for your video!
I still love my LV reverse monogram HIDUPZ clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
@@amysullivan2304 It does slouch at the bottom and I do not use an insert. I would like for it to be more structured but the lambskin is so soft. I don't want to use an insert because it would make the bag too heavy for me. I don't mind the wear and tear as I have gotten really good use for the money.
I'm very happy with the LYXBAG package. Beautiful storage compartments. Looks and feels like leather. The shoulder straps and zipper are of high quality. Very happy with the purchase.

Wei Wang I actually wouldn’t suggest carrying a laptop in either because laptops are so heavy and i think you would wear out the bag very quickly. If you’re thinking of putting a laptop in the bag, definitely get the bag in a caviar leather and use a base shaper! The classic tote can fit a laptop without putting it in diagonally but you have to leave the side buttons unbuttoned! Hope that helps!
Are you experiencing wear and tear in the corners on your classic timeless tote? Mine is starting to buckle at one of the sides and the corner is scuffed / worn. It’s caviar leather and only 3 years old! I’ve barely worn it in the past 2 years.

Where did you get your base shaper for your Chanel Timeless Classic Tote? I completely agree that the base is floppy and if you want to keep the shape of the bag a base shaper or bag insert would be important. Great video comparison!
I just bought a Guess brand tote identical to the GST except instead of CC it has a GG. I use it for work because 1) I am really hard on my work bags and 2) dont wear any lux brands for work. I reserve my lux for my personal life.

The metal bar holding the straps in are called "toggles" like on bracelets by Tiffany. The other regular clasps are called "lobster claws" that you see on jewelry. Being informed about these things matter when doing a video otherwise your opinion becomes not worth listening to. IMHO.

I have the classic in lambskin for the past 3 years and I love it! I use it as my daily work bag and it barely has any wear and tear. Great work tote.
Do you have an insert to help save the structure? Mine appears to be sagging in the corners. I barely carry any weight in it.
