People always demonize sugar but it's just carbs you can still eat it as long as you don't go overboard and have thousands of calories worth of it
@@williammclean6594 you clearly demonstrate again, you know nothing about nutrition. why does protein matter in a caloric context, I thought macros don't matter, except they do.... Your body doesn't selectively choose purely protein as the only macro that matters, your body needs carbs and fats in an optimal environment. Look at the role dietary fats play in hormomal functions, how carbohydrates being protein sparing. Look at the studies of effects of carb loading vs eating lots of dietary fats during a caloric surplus. There's a big difference. Insulin also plays a huge role in your body and how it stores fat or builds muscle. Intramuscular fat and insulin resistance is all from the effects of sugar. Look at how insulin drugs affect your body composition, there's tons of studies out there. That's all the effects of high/low sugar which directly impact your insulin levels, the drugs only mitigate that. Calories in and calories out is concept most people repeat, but people forget that insulin and hormonal levels directly affect your caloric expenditure, which can drastically change your caloric intake requirements... I make my own protein bars with a bit better macros and way better flavor by combining oats, amaranth pops, peanuts, egg whites, unflavored whey, and some honey and a touch of coconut oil. I add various nuts, dark chocolate chips, cranberries, etc and bake at low temperature for a while.
Would love to try them to see what the hype is about. I can't justify the price tho. I like to buy ingredients in bulk and make a batch of protein balls (or bars) at home every week... mix up 160g quick oats, 120g whey, 120g milk, 80g peanut butter OR nutella (or 40g of each) until it forms one giant ball. Then divide the weight by 6 and roll into smaller portion size balls.. Absolutely delicious and highly customizable. Roughly 250 calories and 20g of protein.

Grenade White Chocolate Salted Peanut is the BEST tasting protein bar I've ever had. It tastes like an actual chocolate bar. I think I could choose it over an actual chocolate bar. I have tried every Anabar and only the Monster Cookie Crunch one is worth the money.
As always. I truly respect your honesty, even though you're a gorilla mind athlete. This is why I'll ALWAYS trust your opinion, on taste. Bought your cookbook ( early ) BTW
Idk if it would raise the price or not but I would think it would be a genius move to replace the peanut butter with sunflower butter on the anabars for the more fruity/non peanut butter friendly flavors
Anabars are pretty awesome but they aren't low calorie, which is fine as long as you check the nutritional facts. I didn't think I'd ever try Anabars until I saw them at Trader Joe's, which was pretty cool to see.
The Robert Irvine Fit Crunch bars in PB or Mint Chocolate are legit the best ones on the market for taste. Gonna try Anna and Gorilla but have to say I bet the Fit bars are better. Tastes like a candy bar almost with no sugar.

Great Review. I really wanted to like the Gorilla Mind Bars, I love their protein powder, but the bars I got have been very firm/hard. Not as soft as yours appear. I don't know if it was because they got too hot while shipping or what. They put in an ice pack, but when they arrived the ice pack was melted and they were very warm in the box so obviously the ice pack didn't help much.

It’s always hard for people to wrap their head around these things because YOU’RE not that way but the truth of the matter is you have to meet people where they’re at and find the smallest easy tweaks to get them on their way.
No different than conversations, arguments, debates and what not. Almost nothing ever comes of them… and if you’re like any guy I’ve ever met who is married (I’m just using it as an easy example), months down the line their wives will say something to them that they were trying to say to the wife MONTHS ago like it’s the first time they’ve ever heard such a thing but they either weren’t ready for it at the time or they saw the shit on Instagram or TikTok or something dumb.
All protein bars are shite. Stop making a big deal about something that is suboptimal and eat your actual food

You Americans and your peanut butter... but well gotta admit youve done it right, along with cereal. God i love American cereal, nothing in Europe comes close.
What you in fact cant pull is chocolate. American chocolate is so damn terrible, be it Reese's or Hersheys.. its just bad. It tastes like this horrible thing from the 90ties called "chocolate like product" just with more sugar.
