    TIP: For anyone with this kit or similar and is still having issues after wiring it like the video here is a fix. Plug the pins into the connector just as it shows in the video. When you plug the connector into the red part on the ballast just flip them around on both of them. Mine actually had a positive and a negative mark on each one to match them up. So you’ll want the positive side to go into negative slot and the negative side to go into the positive side if that makes sense. Many hours of frustration and this is what finally got mine to work correctly.

      No matter what I do to mine they remain dim, they start up really bright then within a second return to a dim state, does this mean my 12v current isn't strong enough?

    Good video sir. People doing installs (plug & play installs) with just the factory stock wiring may end up ruining/overheating the wires cause of what you said...the ballast uses alot of current to start up. And that is why you used relay harness because it uses the right awg. gauge wire for the ballast and it gives it the amount of power it needs to work.

      @jbmjbm323 2 роки тому

      @@galodoidousarenato5504 it should still work. My only opinion though when you connect it direct to the headlight plug, the stock wiring for the bulb may overheat and burn out the wire if the stock fuse does not blow because HID startup uses alot of volts/amperage it says on the ballast. I use a relay for my hid lights because I can hook up a bigger gauge wire to run my hids. The headlight plug runs to a relay, then the relay would switch on and send power from the other wire I use to power my hids. You should check out videos on youtube on how automotive relays work. But without a relay, your hid kit should still work. Just read the instructions...

I put everything together and it works fine,except one thing. When I switch on my lights and close them after a while, trying to open them again only drivers headlight came on. If I try on/off several times the passenger side work too. I thought my ballasts are bad and I bought new ones. But still the same. Is that a problem with my relay harness?

      Assuming the new HID kit works fine, if you install a relay wiring harness for the HID, then you will be powering the HID directly off the car battery and that should take care of any flickering or turn on issue.

    question yes - the connection made from the kit to the existing wiring harness...can you show that? I have an 03 accord. Is said connection port any different?
    Thank you!

    Hopefully you or someone reading this can help me with the issue I have right now but basically I was trying to install the hid kit with relay on my car and the passenger side of my hid bulb won't turn on and I couldn't figure out why. It was also making so buzzing noises which supposedly I heard that it wouldn't happen with a relay kit. I don't know if it was due to the fact that the plug that was plugged into the bulb was left hanging, but I only have one signal wire which is connected to the driver side.

    I have two 10 inch JL audio subwoofers ran by a 1000 watt monoblock JL amp in my truck and whenever I have the bass turned up my head lights flicker and I believe it's because I lack a capacitor between the 4 gauge connection from the battery to the amp. I ordered an opt7 hid conversion kit with 6000k xenon bulbs that I would like to install. This kit came with a relay harness and I was wandering if I actually have to install it because a buddy of mine has the same kit but his didn't come with the relay harness. Will instilling this fix the problem of my headlights flickering?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 років тому

      +Nick Klink Headlight flicker is because your amp is drawing a lot of current when you have the stereo cranked. Using a relay kit for your lights will not fix the flicker. Also you don't have to use a relay for the lights if the factory harness provide enough current.

    Hey I’m using HID lights with 55W ballast for my fog light and the fuse keeps on blowing. From my understanding is the during startup the HID draws a high current and will drop back down. So due to the high draw of current it blows my fuse. Therefore in order to rectify this, do you think by using a relay harness with its own fuse that is connected to the battery then to the HID with its 55W ballets will resolve this issue? Thank you.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  3 роки тому

      I am assuming you are referring to the factory headlight fuse blowing. If that is the case, then you should install a relay harness to provide adequate current for the HID ballast.

    I have a Wrangler with 7" round hid projector housings that use rubber boots to seal the wire inlets. In order to get the bulb wires routed through the water-tight rubber boots, the bulb connectors must be removed. Does anyone reading this know how to remove the plastic AMP style wire connectors from these HID bulb wires? Thanks in advance.

      dial2fast so you leave the far-side connection to the car just plugged into nothing? I used your video for my install and everything is working great, but I’m getting a message inside saying a bulb is out because that connector isn’t hooked up to anything.

  • @djgenius10

    So you are using only 1 OEM headlight plug to give a signal to harness relay. The other OEM plug is unused, so you should get an error on the dash that the bulb is gone (from the side the OEM plug is unused). Isn't that right? Or does it throw an error on both sides, because the relay isn't drawing enough amperes from OEM plug and ECU thinks bulbs are gone?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  10 років тому

      The trigger to the relay is coming from one headlight only. Most Japanese and US cars don't give any headlight errors. I think BMW and Mercedes will. If your car does, then you can try connecting the ballast to the headlight plug (plug and play install) without using the relay. Otherwise, check on the net to see how others are doing it.

    • @djgenius10
      @djgenius10 10 років тому

      dial2fast Yeah, I am using it on BMW X5 2008 model. I used plug and play, getting power straight from both of OEM plugs, but xenons sometimes flicker/flash and one or another switches off randomly. I thought I would overcome this problem by introducing the relay harness, but this will cause another problem. Thanks for a reply.

    • @jbmjbm323
      @jbmjbm323 8 років тому

      +djgenius10 You will probably need a heavy duty resistor/capacitor connected parallel with the headlight connection to the relay. This should simulate that halogen bulb is connected and it may be okay. I never done this so I don't know if this will work. Try at your own risk.

      Hmm. Okay, Last time I did that, for some reason it drained my battery on my car and I had to take my car to the dealer and they said the positive terminal was loose. I am not sure if that's what caused the drainage in my battery or not, but I am a little uneasy as to hooking up my harness for both my sets of lights again, as the issue last time left me stranded on the side of the road. =/

      Joaquin Sanchez there's nothing left unplugged the only wires on the ballast should be the wires going into it for power and the wires going out of it to the bulb
