I really enjoy it when you release new ones I get excited mate. My girlfriend just dosnt understand why I love this so much, my drive and passion for aviation only grows with age. ✈️❤️
Massive Jaguar fan. Kitty Hawk 1/48 is on the bench as we speak. The underpowered yet underestimated and highly deadly platform. Mick I love ya for turning me on to Jags! If you see this video thanks buddy for your service
Idk about anyone else but it’s immediate retirement package submission time for me after surviving a small arms round in an operational environment. What a story. Love the channel.
Never seen a Jaguar since I was a kid, and sometimes it really shocks you as to how big these machines are. I remember last year seeing a Buccaneer after it became my favourite aircraft, and I was stunned about how small I was compared to it!
Indeed so, some imense luck for the pilot, as well as being able to navigate his way back home, escorted by other aircraft - Reminds me of Saburo Sakai's 1943 ordeal of being shot directly in the head and managaing to land after a 7 hour journey to a tiny Pasific Island.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Key aero did a very good article on the first night of the war, I also went around some French sites (which I needed google translate). I also watched the French documentary "La victoire venue du ciel". For the other videos I usually search around for summaries of the aircraft's role, then search around squadrons/weapons used.
@@IrisAviation91 they had a very distinct camouflage! Ecuador as well! The Jaguar was exported to India, Oman, Ecuador and Nigeria. The aircraft was used in numerous conflicts and military operations in Mauritania, Chad, Iraq, Bosnia, and Pakistan
Rly love the Jag Brit or French... Didn't the French use different types of camos for their Jags in the gulf? I recall seeing some with a darker brown and some with the more sandy coloura
There were several variations of the camouflages. One was the paler two tone sand scheme, the second was the one with the sand and brown, similar to Omani Jags.
I think any aircraft can fly at night provided the right conditions - In combat the Jaguar may have had thermal pods such as TIALD or ATLIS, allowing the pilot to use the Thermal Imaging to see points in the terrain. Night Vision goggles may have also been used, but I am no Jaguar expert...
@@IrisAviation91 Jags couldn't really operate at night until after GW1. ATLIS did not have IIR capability and TIALD was not a NAVFLIR system. However, during that time period there were extensive tests done to explore Jag night flying capability, including NVGs, LLTV and NAVFLIR pods. Jaguar eventually got full night capability with the GR.3 modification in the mid/late '90s which brought a fully NVG compatible cockpit and the TERPROM digital terrain following system.

I get excited when I release videos and see people from all across the world become united over aviation, glad to see you enjoy my videos so much!

Love the Jaguar, I considered the KH 1/48 one. However bad experiences with both Mirage F1 and Super Etendard kits cancelled the idea...
@@IrisAviation91 I almost bought the Mirage F.1B glad I didn’t! The KH F9F Cougar is giving me all sorts of headaches!

I saw a jaguar irl for the first time today and it way bigger than i expected. As always great video keep it up

This video gave the Jaguar justice. Well done.
Getting hit by a single AK 47 bullet while flying in a Jag seems like the worst luck possible. The better he made it home safe.

I used to watch these taking off at RAF Lossiemouth in the 1990’s.
Interesting fact, the RAF Jaguar "Sadman" flew the highest number of missions of any any aircraft in the Gulf war.
4:12 Al Jaber airport was the target, the unexpected thing was the Iraqi division headquarter 😅
Great series.
Your videos are comprehensive and yet succinct, which I appreciate.
Could you tell me your sources?

Also love the Omani and Nigerian camo even though the NAF ones weren’t long lasting.
Yeah, the Omani Jags also shared a similar camouflage to ones used in Daguet. Didn't know Nigeria operated Jaguars!

@@yanktornado5121 i thought so as well

Was the French pilot who was shot in the head decorated?
I believe so yes
Ex 20 and II(AC) Jags……well done French lads
EXCELLENT JOB 👍👍 But I think the JAGUAR can't fly at night .. is that correct

@@-brutus-1290 Ah, I was under the impression that any FLIR pod had NAVFLIR, my bad!
