@@jtcLIVE well there is a lot of debate on the weaves discord about that and all the veterans including me are saying that totally removing time would quite kill the mode. We love weaves because of the difficulty it is to complete them, the stress you have facing all those ennemies in such a small time. Removing time would also buff cheese strats instead of encouraging players to do them legit as they could just keep waiting in safe spots for as long as they want with no more retrictions.

A 2024 simplified and quick overview of Weaves would be appreciated, I've always been too intimidated to take them on. I might've lost that excuse a couple hundred hours ago though.
It made me try Weaves for the first time, so that's something. I'm basically just grinding out the weapon cosmetics but it's also been nice to have a shorter mission option.
@@MrStrides Once youve done it on Cata, there's no point anymore ig. I've never seen it show up in the lobby browser, not sure if it's able to be joined w/o a group.
As much as I am glad they changed the weaves. I'm afraid it's far too late for it to have any relevance. Basically it's a bandaid and "memorial" change they made before abandoning the game mode. These changes should've been in the WoM DLC from the start, as well as integrating weaves into the weekly/daily quests, which brings me to the point that such integration could, and should, be extended to Chaos Wastes game mode. Weekly and Daily Quest missions should be completionable in adventure mode/weaves/chaos wastes. Grimoires/Tomes could have their analogue on Chaos Wastes/Weaves as well so players are encouraged to play what they like most.
Problem with weaves is that it's supposed to be the hardest un-modded content as you escalate them, all you need to turn half of the player base away from the game mode if saying ''yeah you don't get anything but a portrait for playing it'' and a good portion of the people left will give it a pass after the ''yeah your power growth is capped around what you get by level 35 on the normal game but the enemies don't so you go down from one hit by a slave rat past a certain point, you pretty much need a dedicated team of 4, coordination and patience to deal with some of the worst modifiers''. Also I agree 100% with the chaos wastes thing, they could be something like pilgrim's tomes, and gives you a 25% discount on the boons per tomes your team has, etc, lots of potential, and instead of skaven grimoires we could have chaos grimoires that you purge in altars and get a holy boon from one of the order gods, would be neat.
Yeah, I really hope they'll clear up anything to do with the Weaves like how GK deeds are still tied to books or those challenges that you can't do anymore and that you might have to go through a hughe bunch of ranked ones before you reach a challenging level
Honestly if I wanted to get the experience of going beyond base Cata difficulty, I'd just play Cata Twitch mode. Especially since on consoles we don't have access to modded difficulties. Getting one shot by even basic mobs just doesn't sound fun at all
The addition of bots in to weaves made it so the early grind on weaves is really easy for a solo player, in just a couple of days i managed to push from weave 20 to 47 while not focusing on weaves, this eliminates my biggest issue with deeds which was that nobody wanted to play on really easy difficulities since as a team theyre just boring and as a solo its frustrating to die to disablers.
Planned to use shade to level up the watch (as learned you can use each characters talents regardless of if unlocked yet) then get a few levels for the others weapons. Then farm some levels for them there. First one i do i faced 3 ogres and a chaos spawn... all in the first 4 minutes of the game... on veteran. Very balanced gamemode. Would recommend.
So I've been playing Vermintide 1 for the first time and it has a mode called Last Stand which reminds me of Horde from the Gears of War series, and I love it, why the holy hell is this game mode not in Vermintide 2. Apparently it was received badly back in the day? How is this even possible, I don't get it.
Great changes BUT I'm still not rly interested in weaves, ever since i heard about the modifiers that are mostly just annoying and the whole ''oh yeah if you really wanna do the final weaves you need a team of 4 and everything one shots you'' just kills any interest that i had left on this game mode, wish they added some of the weaves stuff onto the chaos wastes tho, there are a few objectives and events that are weave exclusive that could be a change of pace over there, like the one where you gotta crack through essence chunks, would be neat if chaos wastes also added weave forged weapon skins and some of the better aspects of weave related content. I don't really bother with the current state of the weaves tbh, it's the containment zone of most of the challange-goblins in the game and fatshark shouldn't encourage their whole community to engage with a game mode tailor made for the top 1% that want the specific type of frustration that comes with said mode, also needing to be in the exact weave as your group to play with them sucks and I really can't see a world where that works as an actual popular gamemode when everything else is so much more approachable.
No one is talking about weaves because no one cares lol. Weaves were a mistake and waste of development time, they may as well give away Winds of Magic for free if they want people to actually play weaves and even then I don't think it'd be a popular mode.
How was it a mistake? And I'm sure a lot of people care, it's a fun and challenging mode and a different way to play the game, I mean you get to customize more detailed.

Players wanted more difficulty Players wanted more variety and mutators. Players probably didn’t care about loot, even Red items were likely just a tick box of collection. Some sort of global rank system for the very best to compete against each other. (On the optimistic assumption people can’t glitch run them) But IMO Weaves failed because. WoM also introduced the extra challenge of Cataclysm. For newish players as it doesn't really contribute towards the existing gear and level grind well and how they even work is weird and confusing. Low level ranked weaves now give such pathetic amounts of Essence you can't even make a new weapon after doing several of the lowest ones. It fragmented the playerbase. And you needed a dedicated group unless you're literally trying to solo them, and you also need to be in the same *point* in the 120 levels. The timer change is pointless as you still lost it either way, all it adds now is let players scout ahead and see what else they needed to do for future runs. However allowing AI Bots into ranked weaves is HUUUUGE! Even if you're a heavy co-op player, having AI Bots is huge because the vast majority of players are unwilling to even try the Weaves because the lack of bots means if they can't find a party they're S-O-L. But with bots, players are more open to experimenting with the weaves and are more encouraged to tackle it and eventually seek other players to do harder ones together with now.

To be more clear about weave timer, going out of time isnt ending the run anymore BUT the run wont be validate as a victory even if you finish it.
True; I do think that running out of time shouldn't block you from gaining that victory either, would make the game mode even better than it is now.
