I watched Superman vs the Elite the other day, and I don’t think any moment makes it more clear George Newbern (best Superman voice btw dont @ me) played both. He really did gave them despair. He was even more terrifying than Injustice Superman.
Therewolf capitalizing on Goku VS Superman 3 with this one I see. Not complaining, smart thing to do and a good song does not care for when it releases to be good. Also damn that track art is nice. As for the song, well as one might expect it's great. I love the dynamic and progression it has. Therewolf's shown time and time again how good he is at making tracks feel like a story being told through music and this is a prime example of that. And I think a chronological review will be a perfect way to get that across. The start of the song is something quite atmospheric, as we get a cinematic intro that'd be fit of Superman wondering around doing average Superman things only for the intro to get a bit more sombre as it goes on with more low pitched notes as he'd first meet Sephiroth, causing a conflict that'd escalate at 0:26 into the start of the fight. The first notes are of course heavy and antagonistic which'd fit as of course Sephiroth would be the one to engage at first but if you pay attention you'll note that each loop of the motif is punctuated by a much more high pitched and peaceful note which can be easily attributed to Superman reacting to Sephiroth. Something that's even accentuated as, with each loop, the piano gets more powerful and prominent before almost drowning the violin fitting of Sephiroth, the song becoming more heroic to showcase Superman taking the advantage away from Sephiroth. This is of course something that the One-Winged Angel does not appreciate as he takes back control of the fight at 0:57, the song preaching his name with his own song's motif playing in a crescendo way to showcase his rise in power. But once again as the song rises we get a slow ascension of a more heroic melody starting at 1:28 that slowly takes over the darker and sombre melody, showcasing once again Superman's determination and power as he takes back control of the fight, overwhelming Sephiroth once again. Something that starts a new segment to the track at 2:14 where we transition into the pre-climax break where I'd assume Sephiroth would start breaking down, questioning why Superman would be so powerful despite his ideals to protect humanity. Something that Superman would take pity in due to his enemy's story and status. Then of course, as expected we get a full break at 2:39 as Sephiroth summons the Supernova, the song quieting down to appreciate the sheer scale and paradoxical power of the ability. All the while Superman stares down at the exploding star, steadying his will and power before taking flight at 2:50 into the attack to surpass it in an heroic burst of cinematic power that, beyond the illusion, completely boggles Sephiroth as his enemy breaks free from his ultimate ability through sheer force of will and finishes him in a final attack to bring back peace to the world. A wonderful conclusion to an already amazing song. Overall this track I knew would be cool from the moment I saw it and it definitely did not disappoint. I really wanted a duality of heroic and antagonistic motifs in there and I got exactly that except better than I could have thought. Not only do we get both characters represented nicely in this but we also get a wonderful story-driven song that feels extremely organic and fitting of a scenario involving both those characters fighting. It perfectly captures Superman's determination, heroism and selflessness all the while catching Sephiroth's antagonism and grand scale perfectly. I mentioned it briefly before but I must make a special mention to the the whole entire 2:14-2:50 segment which, while not the most intense, is just perfect for what it strives to do; the piano's absolutely magnificent and it makes the ending so much more impactful which elevates this already good song into a truly great one. Amazing job as always with this.

Which Sephiroth certainly is not.
Yeah, sure, his Haxes will give him at least Some trouble,
But it just won't be enough to take the win from him, my guy.
Superman: I’ve defeated Goku 3 times over, what makes you think you can do any better?
Sephiroth: *tosses hair*
Superman: AH, he overloaded my sense of smell with a kryptonite fragrance!
Goku is nothing to superman. Yet, he gets clapped by Saitama anytime.
I watched Superman vs the Elite the other day, and I don’t think any moment makes it more clear George Newbern (best Superman voice btw dont @ me) played both. He really did gave them despair. He was even more terrifying than Injustice Superman.
"Orbit. He went into orbit at Mach 7. If you had super-hearing, any second you'd hear the... *pop*."
Superman: You just attacked me with the Sun. You dont know a lot about me do you?
Even tho I’m not really into the music but the ost slams
I wonder what would 1:44 be like?
After the latest battle, this is a stomp of legendary proportions even if you gave Sephiroth Dissidia scaling.
Lemme guess... hat-trick?
Sephiroth with Dissidia vs Death Battle's scaling of Superman is actually kinda fair, it's infinite vs infinite a bunch of times over, but Supes has a lot more than just that to show. Sephiroth is turning into a stain on the wall.
@@Metawire61Not really when you take into account that they DO buy higher dimensional scaling for DC, they just don't need to use it due to it not being necessary and just an added argument.
@@merlinthestrange8543 I'm talking about purely what they showed in their video. "They buy higher dimensional DC" doesn't matter when the dimension they did show in the episode (6d) is something I'm pretty sure Dissidia Sephiroth can match, or at the very least 5d.
@@Metawire61 The Sixth Dimension in DC isn’t actually just 6D. It transcends multiple other higher dimensions in DC like the Bleed, Speed Force, Sphere of the Gods, etc. which they do mention in a black box.
Sephiroth: I will throw an exploding sun at you.
Superman: Joke's on you, I'm into that stuff!
Superman: You do realize I get powered up by sunlight, right?
Sephiroth: Oh shi-
Sephiroth: You know that’s a fake sun made of magic, right?
Superman: … Okay, I think I might get a sunburn.
@@pablotomasllodra4423 That's not how Supernova works. He just sends you to another dimension, where THAT sun blows up. In other words, it's an actual sun.
Still a magic attack! A very survivable and long attack but still magic! Clark will get a tan at least.
The timing of this is Super.
"How does it feel, Sephiroth? How does it feel to be deconstructed, to be the victim?! To watch your dreams *die*?!"
"It feels like despair. I will show you how that feels."
YESS I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE EXACT SAME THING!!
Sephiroth : Supernova.
When Supernova hits Superman, Superman became too powerful, as Sephiroth's Supernova doesn't hurt Superman.
Sephiroth : Oh Sh#t
Sephiroth watching Superman vs the Elite: Man, that Superman sounds really familiar.
Sephiroth: “Tell me Man of Steel. Have you ever witnessed a supernova?”
Superman: “Several actually.”
Do you think Superman can hear everyone who's ever cried out for help with his superhearing or whatever?
This seems like an epic cinematic battle between the greatest hero and the greatest villain
I like how the motif from the beginning of the song sounds like the one from the never ending dream
This whole track is the Megamind vs Tighten exchange
Sephiroth: *Casts Supernova*
Superman: *Helas and gets super charged*
Sephiroth: "I thought you were dead!"
Superman: "My death was, greatly exaggerated"
Therewolf Media - "Far From Invincible" | Son Gohan VS Mark Grayson
Sephiroth after his Supernova ends up just boosting Superman's power:
*chuckles* I'm in danger.
Everyone says Seph is screwed if he used Supernova, however, you must remember that it is actually more like a weaponized illusion. Made of magic, one of Superman’s weaknesses. In fact, the fact he wields powerful magic may allow him to better survive Superman.
The thing is, magic isn't an auto win against Superman, and Superman just outstats to a HILARIOUS degree to the point where it doesn't matter. The main attack that can pose a threat to Superman is Heartless Angel, which would bring Superman to 1 HP, and if he hits Superman with a powerful magic attack afterwards immediately, it MIGHT kill him. However... Sephiroth won't be able to pull it off via the massive stat gap.

a fun idea with some really epic music that is worthy of these 2 combatants!
If Supernova is a magical attack, would it harm Superman since he's vulnerable to magic? Or would a magic sun power him up just like a regular sun?

Superman sweeps the verse clean and it’s not funny
I can't help but get nagged at the fact that Superman is weak to magic. Sephiroth is pretty much angelic BECAUSE of that stuff. Sephiroth has to be outsped and mess up with Supernova, a move that could actually feed him on accident. But Sephiroth is a very hard boss, giving him intellect points in my scoring methods.
