the dice and cups look really nice, but I like the Liar's Dice version where there's a board that has all the possible combinations and legal bets, and the eliminated dice go there so you can see how many dice the other players are down
Me and my friends go to the pub every thursday and ever since one of the lads brought this with them one night we play it every week over a few pints! Great fun!
I'm always tempted to pick this up just to see if it has better luck getting to the table than "standard" Liars Dice, which I have owned for years and not once have been able to convince people to play.
In my original version, you lose the number of dice equal to the difference you are wrong by. Meaning, if I bid eight 6's and I am called and there are only five 6's, then I lose 3 dice. It makes the rounds go quicker and adds a LOT more tension!
This is a fun family game! We have been playing this game at almost every family gathering for over 30 years. Good guessing, lying & a poker face are helfpul skills. It's fast paced. We always say (or yell) "Dudo!" when we doubt someone's bid.
You're wrong at one place: you can't go to 7 twos from 6 fives. You need to EITHER raise the number of the dice OR the value of the dice or BOTH. The next bid must go higher! Otherwise there's no tension, no excitement and no difficulty in the game whatsoever. Plus, it's the rule.
It varies between liar's dice variants. In the Perudo variant from this set, 7 two's is bigger than 6 of anything (or 3 perudos). So you can decrease the value of the dice but you have to add more dice to do it.
This is the best version of Liars Dice to play. Having a scoring board makes the game easier - remembering how many dice are in and out is part of the challenge! Parafico rule is fun.
Rule mistake : You can’t go from six 5’s to seven 2’s. You have to increase either the value of the dice or the number of dice. You can’t decrease or change both the value and the number.
That's not what my rulebook at home says. And also the way it is implemented on BGA doesn't allow you to change both the value and the number of dice. You can say seven 5's or eight 5's. Or you can say six 6's. But you can't change both.
Thanks for the review. Let’s be honest, the backdrop is really bad. I’ve been watching the Dice Tower for years and I’m all about change but this is so so bad. Please admit you made a bad call with the grafiti “dice toner” and start over. It looks really really bad.
It’s okay if you like it and I’m not “hating”. I am of the opinion that it looks bad and they can do much better. I really feel it is distracting and I’m willing go bet they make a change sooner rather than later. Just my guess.

I remember playing this in France years ago. I'm glad to see it come to the US. I like the look of the dice.
misread it "I remember playing this in Finance years ago" and thought "Yeah, makes sense!" :-D

A really nice production!

Tom new hammer is slowly wrecking that table.
Calling the actual words out is fun. I imagine people playing it as a drinking game wearing sombreros!

but 7 twos are more dice than 6 fives. or what am i missing?

The Pirates of the Caribbean version would have been perfect if it had included a board.

You CAN go from six 5's to seven 2's as you ARE increasing the number of dice (but not the value).

Yes you can.
Yeah you are right, in my version it's also 'or' not both.
xor vs. or. It's not clear what is meant in my opinion

Justin Hoffee I like it
So do I
Same here. What‘s with the hating?

Plagiarism (of Richard Borg's game "Bluff") plain and simple - yuk.
Um this game was invented in 1582 in Peru
