- A quick answer to a question a get a lot as a heathen. This is the answer I usually supply.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about heathen practices or other topics like,
Music, blacksmithing, motorcycles.
Drop a comment and let me know.
My wife calls my beard “the flavor saver” lol 😉
yuck
Thank you for this video answering a lot of questions even some of my Pagan soldiers didn’t know. I got invited to a Moot (think that’s how it’s spelled) and I loved the community and have been curious.
Let my beard grow and started wearing a Mjölnir hammer around my neck……people treat me differently and more respectfully…..even if most of them don’t even know what the Mjölnir is. I had one man ask me if it was a ship’s anchor…..I said no it’s Thor’s mighty hammer…….the look on his bemused face was priceless! lol
From a lady's perspective, I've got a better question about beards: Why not? I've known that beards are AWESOME for a long, long time. Even as a little girl, that first visit with Santa. I was hooked!
Kratos: Why u at my house?
Balder: 0:24
Baldur: Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior, Fenrir?
Love to the pagan community shout from england
Having long hair and long beard keeps men warm. Think about where these people come from. It's cold and snowy and darker than other places. Lack of sunlight means colder climate on average. I have a long beard and hair. I am always warmer than my friends, family, and coworkers. It's just a natural thing to keep us warm. In 2022, a time of extreme mental and physical bodily confusion, it is also a way to remind everyone about masculinity and sanity.
I wonder why eskimos don’t have beards and long hair even though they live in igloos. Just thinking out loud
Nope dude 100% all Vikings look like waffen-ss with completely shaved facial hair and short hair they even had 1930s clothes.
I had a beard before I became a Christian, now it’s longer than ever 😂
Love pagans and heathens
I really appreciate you giving this explanation. Can you explain the haircut? Meaning the "temple shave". I'm a Norse pagan but I'm also still learning. I have this hair cut myself but sometimes my job gives me problems for it. Mainly about how long it is.
The undercut? It's just a modern hairstyle
There are beards in many cultures, Christianity, Islam, The Jewish community even in India, even in some Greek and Roman cultures,
my family hate my beard they tell me to shave It, I tell them no.
I'm a heathen and can't grow a beard to save my life
Being a heathen has nothing to do with genetics my boy.
@@lethalbroccoli01well beards does
@@dylangoss6445 thats my point. Guy mentioned being a heathen like it had something to do with being able to grow a beard.
I have never really thought about this. Interesting though. I did to learn more. Is this a religion or more of a belief system?
I suppose that depends on the person and how the practice it. At one point it was the religious beliefs of the nordic people or Vikings. Though it date back way before that.
I personally view it as a bit of both, so like I dont think there is a giant snake at the bottom of the ocean, however there is a large something that causes earthquakes.
I would say "havamal" in particular as well as a few other poems are more guidance or advice, like a belief system.
The reason why I have a beard is because I'm too lazy to shave it off. That's why.
Heathen women don't have beards.
Facial hair is the default position for men.
It's what happens if you dont shave
Not complicated
Sure sure. However same cultures idealized man is clean shaven others it's not, many are for different reasons. So sure it could be simplified to such a gender oriented idea.
Or, we could have some level of class and appreciation for the extra facts that are a part of a culture. No everyone is so satisfied with the most basic of reasons.
And you also live in a time where a bearded man in a dress is a woman so... you're also wrong there.
so how do i fix my patchy beard and fill it in? lol i thought it was genetics
There are some women with breads. I have seen them.
I’m sure the heathen women made lots of bread while their men were out on Viking raids in those days 🥖 🍻
Wrong question!
Why do Muslims wear beards?
Oh, and please remind everyone to stop with these Viking Ragnar haircuts. They are trendy and not practical in cold climates. They instantly set apart real Heathens from this made-up new age Asatru/Wiccatru modern cult. Asatru is basically taking Wicca and Christianity and stamping a "Norse religion" label on it. True Heathens need to seek out historical reconstructionist Heathenry, which would be a "religion" our ancient ancestors would actually recognize. Asatru would be as foreign to them as Judaism or Islam.
I agree 💯, 👍🏻
Also, the parasite tribe of Yahweh believed that beards should be unkempt and scraggly just to be contrary to how we are! Evil genocidal maniac bastards...
So true. None of these people have ever even read a source about the old Nordic religion.
The Ragnar haircut is authentic... The Vikings and Germanic Peoples wore long braids... They've been found on images, bracteates, and found in Bog graves
Can't really grow a good beard, it only grows like, a quarter inch above my jaw line and below, as well as a mustache, not on my cheeks though, it's annoying and it sucks xD
Skol Bruder 🍻
Wrong question.
Why do extremely conservative Jews have beards?
Because it's been considered a strong masculine trait for a very long time.
Most jews are conservative....
But what would thier political affiliation have to do with it?
Or do you think that word is an insult some how?
because shaving is a pain in the a$$
I don’t have a beard. I also know more heathens that don’t have beards than do.
