The harmony is reminiscent of JSBach. One of the greatest jazz pianists of all time.

I fell in love with this Dizzy Gillespie tune (Con Alma) from the LP "Duets" and after hearing Oscar play it, I love it even more.

One of my main goals in life is to catch a glimpse of the wave he is on when he plays, and be there when I play.

He really breaks his time up well. This tune is in triple meter. It is rare that Jazz players solo in 3. He has duple and triple figures in this. He has great technique to express his ideas. Dizzy Gillespie wrote this tune. It is one of my favorite vehicles. I think I learned it in the key of E Major which is an odd key for Jazz.

Felix Scott I think it’s in 6/8 moving to 4/4 during solos.

Its a a beautiful Latin Jazz standard composed by Dizzy Gillespie being played by the Oscar Peterson piano trio with the amazing bassist Ray Brown. As far as I know while there have lots of versions done on the jazz side and lots of versions on the salsa/latin jazz side, its always instumental.
