Love this review , you don't see any manual socom reviews out there . I was lucky enough to find out last year and got it for $250, to me worth the hunt. Great job Nutnfancy 👍👍
I have the Mini and large Autos. The mini has a lock on it. The large does not. I agree completely about the handle size. Mine both rocket out, so I have to really hold on or they will fly out of my hand. i have Ray Skin inserts on the mini which makes it much more comfortable and easier on the pocket. Maybe that is why it is harder to hang on to. Large one also has a glass breaker. They are very cool looking knives. Mine have combo satin blades that are razor sharp. Great knives. Great review.
Nice reviews Man, You know the stuff :) Would like to see You review a Microtech Halo, I find it a great edc knife actually and a few peaple mock that it's a toy and may fail anytime :) IMO in a critical situation You're more likely to open a HALO safely than ANY side opener (no need to make space for the blade action)...
@donttellteachers Nutn did a fun interview with Anthony at SHOT show. Anthony knows his knives!! He was a great rep for Microtech too. Nice guy. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)
nutnfancy is a pilot!?!? I heard you mention that the knife was your flight suit knife and also that " In my duty use...flying." Has your secret been revealed? 9:19 and 5:34!
This is internet folklore and I don't buy it. In the minuscule (less than .000000000001%) chance you would actually have to do this, you can accomplish it easily with a two hand softened deployment. You would have time. Much more likely than "taking out a sentry quickly" would be dissuading a bad guy from further aggression or just needing your blade very quickly as an emergency backup weapon. In either case a smartly deploying auto knife is much preferred.
lol at 2:36 he says don;t add it to you collection because "it's not the greatest defensive blade" lmao if its in your collection I don't think you need it for defense.
yeah, i've heard some things about him..his prices are ridiculous and I thought he knew about knives...i asked him a question, and he was like, uh i dont know...email me...WTF?
Man. I used to have one of the auto opening minis and lost it on an op in Iraq in '06. Such a sweet knife. I'd love to find one again.

Sorry to hear that guys. I can only go with my experience and it's been good at PVK and I will always impart the truth as I know it.

It truly depends on the knife, if you tell me what your planing on storing ill give you my opinion on how to store it.
Thank you,
Danny
i broke down and bought one. from pvk btw, thanks for recommending them
I got one for 395. They have re-released the Halo II recently, but mine is the Halo III. $600 retail.
@PRSpl4yer No, the dagger is the hand ground ones i believe.
the jimping on the blade makes it alittle easyer to cut rope/string...
Love micro tech, you are still missing a review on the whale shark though!
due you always make good vids

you can still find mini socoms around new. manual and auto sit in stores because tony marfione won't beat the bushes to bill his wares.
you can get a manual for like 100 USD and auto for 195 in the mini socom elite

His dad was a pilot in the Airforce, so it is quite likely that he followed his fathers path.
