My current dew heater controller does environmental monitoring to control when and how much to power the heaters. Do these include environmental monitoring?
I’ve been so confused on which one should i buy, the AD8 or the AD10. I don’t care about the weight of it but i dont know which one would give me better views. Which one should i get??
Hi Pedro, If weight isnt a problem, the AD10 is going to give you better views because of the larger mirror. Simple as that! The larger the aperture, the brighter the objects in your eyepiece. Hope this helps!
I'm wondering if I have been placing my dew strap at the wrong location on my refractor? I see that at 1:04, you show the strap on the tube, just behind the extended dew shield. I have been placing my strap on the back part of the dew shield, not on the tube itself... So I should be placing it on the tube and not the dew shield?
That is correct, Eric. If it strapped around the dew ,shield the heat may not penetrate through that and through the OTA down to the glass. Around the back of the dew shield when it is fully extended is your best bet!
The asi dew ports are 12v unless you waste using one of the four USB ports which are already all accounted for with an imaging rig, IE: mount, main camera, guide camera, auto focuser and filter wheel. Just saying.
The newer low power dewstrips don't really need controllers just give them power and they will be fine as is. Maybe if running off a tiny battery a controller might make sense but not really. If you buy this you will end up just having at 100% all the time so it's pointless.
I have dew shield but it is the finderscopes that get hit the most. I dont do photography but some nights in the uk have 90% plus humidity

Nice. Now all I need is dew. Being a desert imager, I have yet to encounter the problem.

Are they powerful enough? I find some of the usb or 5v dew heaters are not very effective. Wish you "guys" shipped to Canada!
I'm wondering the same. In Oklahoma I need all I can get. I want the 10 inch one for my classic Meade SCT.

Can't find this product anywhere, any help????
Unfortunately, these Apertura Dew Strips are no longer available for purchase. However, we do still carry DewNot brand strips as well as Astrozap!
@@highpointscientific Thank you for the feedback , much appreciated, and thank you and your site for all you do!
