I think, Europeans traveled throughout the world because they were curious and had developed technologies for sea-travel and they used to hear about India and southern countries unknown to Europe. I am a Sc/st ( lower caste ) and I have heard Caste system exist still in some parts of India but from where I belong , West Bengal there is nothing like that. And I think even in South & North-east India no caste system exist. Proud Hindu 🚩🚩
