Probably many years too late to answer this question, but yes. A simulator is a great way to get started. However, nothing can replace flying IRL. The point of the foam planes is they're, cheap, tough, and fly just like (or similar enough to) a balsa plane to where the experience of flying is a lot less daunting than going it alone. The simulator also comes in handy as you progress in your flying ability, so it's not just for new pilots. If anything, experienced pilots use them a lot more because it is a great way to get stick time.
Great job! Any chance you would be able to build a TH Standard Crack Yak 55 and I'll pay for the build and ship to me in CT? I have zero building experience so thought I'd ask. Let me know, thanks.
Sadly I think that would be something pretty hard to ship to you all the way in CT, and with school I have very limited time right now! I'm sure someone at your local flying field would be glad to build it for you!
Thanks. I took a chance and tried building the CY55 but after getting about 75% done I gave up and threw it out. The power source, push rods to the servos and rudder was completed misaligned and already glued..lol I decided to go with the McFoamy www.wmparkflyers.com/Mcfoamy_p_80.html They actually build so they're working on it for me.
Damn I have a long way to go..lol . I'm an experienced certified drone pilot but new to 3D RC planes. Been practicing countless hours on the RF8 Sim and some on trainer planes. Waiting to get my McFoamy plane similar to the Crack Yak-55 to steadily practice. Just like aerobatic stuff.
Great flying and video. Never boring 👍
Superb control. Great flight!

Hi, where is it CG?
professional pilot
Great flying... Can I ask what Motor + Prop you have used ? Thank you and Happy Flying -=!=-
Nice plane, really good pilot skills, LOTS OF PRACTICE?????
There is nothing like the real thing of 3d but a flight simulator will help too.
Is real flight time the best way to learn 3D? or will a simulator give you the same feel?

Thanks!
How long did it take you to have those flying skills? amazing dude.
Thanks for the comment. I try to fly every week. I have been doing this for nine years and still having fun!
