23:12 - Correction, The Lorax was made by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and directed by Hawley Pratt, which was a studio created by the former director of the Looney Tunes Friz Freleng, which had been in the industry ever since the late 1920s. Hawley Pratt was Freleng's right-hand man when he directed alot of the Sylvester/Speedy/Tweety cartoons during the 1940s-50s. The studio would also create the Pink Panther cartoons that were theatrically released from 1964 to the early 80s. Funnily enough, the studio would become rebranded as Marvel Productions in 1981, which is the studio that currently produces all the current superhero movies.
Strip away the nostalgia and "Heat Miser/Snow Miser" may be the only unironically good thing the Rakin Bass holiday specials gave us.
Actually every adaption of A Christmas Carol has that scene. The only scene that's usually left out is when Scrooge's ex-fiancee marries another guy. Sometimes adaptions ship Scrooge with his maid at the end.
Not gonna lie, whenever I hear references to rankin-bass christmas specials i immediately think of One Foot In Front of the Other so I feel you deeply
When I read the Hobbit as a kid the new live action movies hadn't come out yet. So my dad sang the songs in the book the way the animation had done them.

I'm not convinced Rankin Bass was a thing in australia. I had only heard of them fairly recently, and the only thing I ever remember seeing in australia was for a Myer commercial a couple years ago, which had the Rankin Bass Rudolf and some other characters in it? Which, is strange, because I feel like most australians wouldn't know about these versions of the characters, so it was a strange choice. Or maybe it's just me..?

Can also confirm that those songs are absolute bangers.
I consider puppets to be animation, since they're man-made things. Stop motion is just puppets moved in a different way.

Edit: whenever the year without a Santa Claus is ever watched in my family at Christmas it is required that me and my sister sing the miser brother songs and I think that is something all families should do lol
