🇲🇰 Journey Through Time : Mustafa Pasha Mosque Tour. One of the oldest Masjids in Skopje, Macedonia

Mustafa Pašha Masjid, Skopje, North Macedonia (2023) :
This is one of the oldest Ottoman era Masjids in Skopje, North Macedonia, Located upon the hill above the Old Town. It was built in the year 1492 and the most significant part about this Masjid is that it has changed little since it was built. The original structure is still intact and no additions have been made through the years. Unlike other buildings in and around the city, the Mustafa Pasha Mosque did not suffer major damage from the 1963 earthquake.
The architecture of this Masjid is absolutely fascinating. Doesn't look like a typical Ottoman Masjid from outside, rather classic Balkan architecture and inside is very plain and simple with beautiful Islamic decor and pleasantly decorated interior ceiling.
The Masjid is surrounded by rose gardens in a very quiet neighborhood, and the atmosphere was very calm and peaceful, when we went there for the Jummah prayer.
One-third of the country's total population are Muslims and Islam is the 2nd largest religion in Macedonia.
