@@honesttaxpayer4326 First of all its a blunder taking the lands from farmers in a rich rice bowl area. To correct that blunder govt took a decision to decentralise capital functions. Farmers shd have gone into negotiations with the govt. Instead they went into battle which rested in what u see now.

Exactly, why spend all the money in Vizag? In fact, Vijayawada and Guntur lost their importance due to giving too much importance to Vizag. As that farmer said, the land in the Amravati area is extremely fertile and they were getting good incomes by raising three crops a year. That area of Andhra is even more fertile than Punjab, and is the rice bowl of India. It was a very silly decision by Naidu, to make that agro rich area a capital city. Fertile agricultural land that is high yielding must never be urbanized as it will spell disaster for the country's food security. They should have made Kurnool the capital of Andhra, as it is located in a backward area that really requires development. Overall improvement can only be achieved by bringing development to underdeveloped areas.
