About Split Second:
Split Second is based on a format from game show legend Monty Hall where three contestants are asked to decide which of three general interest trivia questions they can answer. The first player to buzz in gets the first pick, and the last player is left to answer whatever is left, which is often the most difficult. The player with the fastest response time and the highest success rate answering questions over the first three rounds advance to the bonus round where their ability to answer a rapid fire series of questions could win the $10,000. - Розваги
The way the host holds that tablet
He stalls in the final round when reading the questions … players missed out on the money by one question
I really like this game now. Like I said the first time, the Game Show Legends Tom Kennedy & Monty Hall would be so proud. RIP!!!
Tom Kennedy and Monty hall are going to be proud of you Michael
This show is unwinnable at the end, which makes it no fun to watch
The final questions are too difficult, too many, in not enough time
I’ve yet to see anyone actually win it!
Same problem with Joey Fatone’s game show…too difficult at the end, no one ever won
This is a great example of how to make a reboot. Keep the same format, maybe change a couple things to make it current. Love this!
Points to dollars. $25,000 for the top prize.
@@Rlotpir1972 i think so too
@@Rlotpir1972 This is GSN. Don't expect big money.
@@MountainHawkPYL THAT'S their mistake. Should've given that to ABC.
They still need points to dollars. Otherwise points are useless once the Countdown Round starts.
I loved this show in its 1970s run, and I'm really impressed with this version - mainly because it's so much like the original. I did like the one change in the countdown round, giving a little more of an advantage to the leader in the main game (as it should be), and John Michael Higgins does Tom Kennedy proud. Great work!
I was prepared to complain about all the changes... And then there weren't any! This is very true to the original and the minor changes that were made don't hinder the gameplay. I like the change in the Countdown Round putting more separation between players, because it makes the main game more important. The only things I would say are that I wish they were playing for dollars instead of points (but that's always been a GSN thing), and I wish Higgins were a little quicker with the reading. Maybe that will come as the game evolves. So far, I enjoy it! Well done GSN!
..... He'll be quicker..... I honestly felt like JMH was quick with his reading with this episode...
The front game is PURE PERFECTION! Same with the Countdown Round...both played just like the originals and just as fast paced.
This is great, this version is going to be around for a while,Television needs great questions and answers in a good way,and John Michael Higgins is a great choice after America Says. This is the first great reboot to come out of Game Show Network in over a decade.
Great revival of the classic Split Second.
Reboot and it's the moment of truth
This great Stefan Hatos/Monty Hall-produced game show classic from the '70s is back! And one of my favorite games as a child. I'm glad that GSN revived "Split Second" because I missed that kind of gameplay. John Michael Higgins does a great job picking up where the late, great Tom Kennedy left off and keeps the game moving smoothly.
"where Tom left off" you say? I suppose you never heard of the 1 year 1986 that Monty did himself? It was syndicated both here and Canada. The reruns were shown quite a bit in the 90s
@@PREGO1966 You're right about that! I forgot that Monty Hall did the 1986 revival and it was just as competitive. After all, Mr. Hall *did* co-create "Split Second" with Stefan Hatos and he did a great job continuing the gameplay and action in the same manner that Tom Kennedy did.
That he did my friend. The amounts went up from "Jim Tom's" day, all answers were on the screen like the current one rather than the occasional verbal and the bonus game was only 1 car. Nonetheless it did well. I just didn't like when he changed the end game. The choosing 1 out of 5 screens, then 4, etc. was more like the 70s one. I do recall the 5 car game was redone on the 86 Hollywood a Squares though and a similar one with 1 car and up to 7 keys was on Just Men
Tom Kennedy and Monty Hall would be so proud...... I love the format!!! so far it's kept as it is with no changes....... After watching so many of the 80s episodes Of split second with Monty Hall On UA-cam 😅😅...... Well done GSN 👍🏾👍🏾... 😎😎
This is easier than John Michael Higgins' other show I enjoy watching a lot!
What a nice long shot come from behind win!
That's the brilliance of the Countdown Round.
@@LeotheTiger1234 agreed. There isn't much I would tweak. I would just make the points money values and everyone gets to keep what they win in the front game. Other than that this version is good.
What an amazing comeback for Laronda
Nice revival of Split Second and must be reading the questions from a IPad instead of the questions cards on the podium and slap Split Second logo on the back of the iPad to cover the apple 🍎 logo.😊
It's the Surface tablet I think and Brooke Burns used the same kind in Master Minds
Literally my new favorite game show!
The grand prize should've been a car. And they should be earning money for correct answers to the questions.
You got it right....the game is exactly as it was meant to be...no major tweaking. Well done!
And they jump right into the gameplay.
Umm… It’s missing the classic theme song and final (auto selection).
For once a reboot is done right. I love this game.
Anyone else notice when a wrong answer is given that clue's dead, even if the question's NOT a 50/50?
The previous versions left it open for other players.
I did notice that; just watched it now. Wish that rule were still in place.
❤John Michael Huggins
Its higgins with first I.
Very good version i hope it stays on for a while. John Michael Higgins is a good host
Watch Higgins closely and he is to slow during some phases especially the final round..Watch!
The Final Countdown is a great bonus round format; Hell, Split Second actually has a proper bonus round now!
If it were still played for a car like the prior versions, I'd sort of mix it with the Winkler-era Hollywood Squares: every right answer would knock a dud key off a rack of 11 (one for every letter in Split Second).
Yo, Laronda taking it from behind! Good on her!
Love this new version I think it’s gonna be a hit
2nd best part of my week. First part was seeing Sawyer Brown in concert. Higgins is such a smooth operator as a host.
And another throwback to the old version with the wrong answer of Pontiac in the car question
This almost seems too normal and well done for 2023😂
If I Hosted SPLIT SECOND, I Want Everything from the Monty Hall Version
The upfront game should be scored in cash & everyone keeps their bank. Just like the original. The winner, then gets an extra $1K bonus-on their secured funds.
I agree. As it stands now, points are next to useless.
I agree....... Best to add that on for the next season...... Missing piece of the Original format
I love that he is the host of this gameshow and America Says!
GSN. Would you please show both answers to each question in the final round!
Laronda logon is actually my 7th grade language arts teacher I honestly didn’t believe her when she said she was on game shows
I'm glad she did Well And Won ... Nice to see your Teacher on this Show 😎👍🏾
Great reboot of a classic game show.
Stefan Hatos and Monty Hall would be proud of this version of their classic.
Monty hall is going to be proud of you
I concur
@@iamthamon1 tom Kennedy
Tom Kennedy would also be proud.
@@wecantfightgravity how about Monty hall. And who's announcer
Watch how he holds the tablet he's reading the answers from.
I've seen this episode of MONK. I know what's going on here.
Love that the main game hasn't changed and the Countdown Round is just as exciting.
Do you like the new bonus round?
the one change that needs to be made is play for cash and the losers take home the cash
@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 I agree, but I don't think GSN has that kind of budget. Or do they?
@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 Unfortunately, this is GSN we're talking about. They won't go for that, although I do agree even the runners-up should get some money.
well if they had returning champions and made the bonus like the originals.
Also they cut off the thumbs down feature even for people that downloaded the chrome extension
I like the watching split second Michael higgins
Split second Michael higgins 😊
I knew John Michael Higgins could do it.
Michael higgins 😁
0:01 split second intro
Is Monty Hall's daughter Sharon Hall one of the Executive Producers? If so that was a very good reboot.
Yep, as you can see in the credits. She was tapped to be a consultant for Marcus/Glass Productions after they acquired the rights to the Hatos-Hall properties. Hopefully they can try to reboot 3 for the Money next.
@@milesmorris9333now that's Great news that Sharon Hall is Apart of this as a consultant !!
this show can be even better with the Memory Busters or those opening questions... but mostly, just change the points to dollars
okayyyyyyy thats even better that 1986
LETS GO MRS LOGAN!!!!
Very FUN fast - paced game. I enjoyed this. ;)
Great reboot!
Julian deserved it, I feel sorry for him.🥴☹
I love this show! 😊
Fun game, and I feel like that bonus round is easy to win
His best work. _America Says_ ain't bad though
So it is like the old versions. Well done, GSN!
I was hoping for the original bonus round, where the stage opens to reveal five cars, with only one set up to start. Pick the right one, and it's yours.
@@rick420buzz I don't think GSN has that kind of budget; $10,000 is the new top prize for that network (although America Says has $15,000).
Do you like John Michael Higgins as the host?
@@yaphettvazquez9796 indeed okay john Michael from America says
@@LeotheTiger1234 GSN has done rather well with their shows so far along with the schedule. Toning down Harvey Feud, adding Regis Millionaire back to the schedule, and their two revivals of the decade 2020, Chain Reaction and Split Second are impressive.
@@movietv20249 I agree. I have not seen the new game Switch, but I plan to do so.
Who else loves John Michal Higgins
I enjoyed this, and I even like the set color too
19:26 You just won $10,000!
🙆♀️
Awesomeness video please do more thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is an awesome revival of the classic 1970s & 80s game show. However, I wish this was on ABC (the network that aired the original version of the show). ABC would have given the show a better & bigger budget.
And who knows ABC would have had a set of cars on a bigger stage..... If a contestant were to go to Five games..... Like the old versions of Split Second to win a car
I could imagine the set displaying like...9 cars if the show had been on ABC.
To be honest, GSN doesn't have that big of a budget.
@@CameronBW2000 the one game show GSN did have with a bigger cash prize was Russian Roulette.
2 questions:
1. How come each correct answer is not worth money like on the first 2 versions (Kennedy/Hall)?
2. How come the winning contestant does not play the bonus round for a new car like on the first 2 versions (Kennedy/Hall)?
1. The losing players on most (if not all) of the GSN originals go home with nothing.
2. Budget. GSN's top prizes for solo players normally top out at $10K currently. Given the average price of a car (and the taxes players pay on their winnings), cash is the best option.
Bingo, GSN is super cheap
0:02 and heres your host john michael higgins
Getting first point before introduction definitely blows my mind
I... like it.
Here's a Split Second question for you:
"King" me! Pick one of these and tell me which famous person named King it describes:
--Star of The Kissing Booth and Bullet Train
--Gave famous "I Have A Dream" speech
--Famous CNN interviewer
Split seconds michael higgins game show network
It would be better if they gave the answers first, then the question. Buzz in at any time, but it interrupts the question reading for the fastest. Also, unless it’s either/or, yes/no, etc, getting a question wrong leave it open for the others. Yes, just like the Kennedy run.
Updating the Countdown Round to 4-6-8 gives more of an advantage to the player in the lead, which I’m fine with. Especially since they no longer play for money (GSN budget issue I’m sure), it’s an incentive to play well during the first two rounds.
Couldn’t do the car round due to budget, but the end game isn’t bad. It keeps with the main game.
Higgins needs to pick up the pace a little. Monty had the same problem at times. Kennedy was a master.
Wish there was an actual theme instead of a short interlude but that’s common these days. Set is blah but the original and the 86 version wasn’t great either.
The kept the basics the same which is great.
Totally agree. Higgins speaks WAY too slowly and he pauses in final round.
I really think when he is reading the question to the contestants at the end of the game to win the money he really needs to read it a little faster than that and if they get the one question wrong, just MoveOn don’t say no blah blah blah that takes a lot of time
Damn, no parting gifts? GSN is so damn cheap!
This episode is rated TV-PG with closed captions.
0:03 and here is your host john michael higgins
Good play along show.
It’s like “Jeopardy!”
But no “What is.”
When I repeat the answer to part of a question the contestants didn’t get, I end up knowing it afterwards.
I love this show now
True to the format. Game Show Network has gone in the right direction with this.
I LOVED the original, this is a decent revival
Everything is ok except for the music that I'm used to when I'm watching this game with monti hall.
Unfortunately, SPLIT SECOND never had an iconic theme like Pyramid or Jeopardy...I would have enjoyed a remix of Todd Thicke's theme or Stan Worth's THE FAST WAY, too, but it wasn't in the cards.
I wish they would revive the original bonus game where contestants would choose a car, hoping it would start.
Absolutely
QUEENS IS A BROOKLYN NEIGHBORHOOD?? 😂😂
6:43 I prefer "DON'T go in there!"
Monty's old show, need to play with money, and just like the classic show, at the end, play for a car.
If this show were on ABC..... That would have possibly happened
Questions are way too easy and host doesn't need to hold the card that way
Yeah, the way he holds the card is just weird!
Married With Children was Peggy Bundy!
Middle school arts teacher I love teachers too
This is okay. I liked the late-'80's version.
Have never seen anybody win on this show
First time watching this game show. I like it accept I don’t like the countdown round. Also I think the contestant who buzzed in should automatically get the most points in a round rather than just getting to choose which selection to answer. Still an enjoyable show
I agree
💯
I’m really enjoying this game show. I’m playing along with them & really feel ugh 😑when the person who’s playing the very last part of the game & just about gets to the last question & time runs out drives me nuts. But am really enjoying the majority of the game shows but I’m picky.
Does anybody know if America Says will still stream live after this?
Sound effects sound similar to Family Feud
walt disney
Is this the first episode?
How can I be a contestant in this game show?
Update Jeff Hephner with a new free full episode from season 2 Please
Fast paced game
I like this show
My goodness, he holds that card a bit weird.

I want to see #TonyDortie here ❤
Hmmm not bad.
matter of fact one of GSN's better originals!!
Agree, but I still wish they re-aired the old stuff like Russian Roulette, Greed, That's the Question, Camouflage (2007), Friend or Foe, Lingo (Woolery), Whammy: The All New Press Your Luck and the World Series of Blackjack. At least they brought back Regis Millionaire on the schedule.
it's not an original really, its a reboot
0:00 Monday after Switch
Who's the announcer lady her name is
@@fornitegood122jr6 The same as the one Switch, Buzzr, Common Knowledge and Tug of Words.
Wasn't there a pilot for a revival of "Split Second" around 2005, hosted by Tom Bergeron, that didn't get picked up?
I like the show but the questions are read to slowly. No one can win.
