I really appreciate this because as a big (theatre technician) fan of Starkid, I always wanna see all the backstage crew and technicians and people besides the actors because I just wanna know who they are and show them the love!! :)
“And then FLASH!” Damn, I wasn’t ready to be assailed by feels over this so soon, but I should probably start getting prepared for when this completely overwhelms me again on the UA-cam release.
As a SM I really appreciate that everyone in this cast accepted Paul Gabriel as their dad. You're not a real SM if your company don't see you as a surrogate parental figure by the end of the run
This is my favourite behind the scenes video yet! Matt, Matt, Matt and Matthew are very talented! Excellent song choice with I Want It That Way, Curt. Also some of the shots you got of things like the sound mixer and Paul's desk were gorgeous.
I’ve seen Black Friday 8 times on the digital ticket! It’s incredible! Also love seeing all this backstage content, a lot of the time the band is seriously slept on by starkid fans!
2:53 I am the light person at my school and not only have I watched our past two sound people do this, but we had an actor upstairs (long story) and he did this too!
I guess you could call me a theatre tech, although I’ve only ever worked on costume crew, and our theatre does the exact same thing before shows as the Black Friday cast: everyone (including the techs who can’t sing/don’t know the words) sings iconic songs, songs from old shows, songs from other musicals, etcetera. I really loved this video, especially since we get to see a glimpse of crew members whose names we may have never heard before, although I wish he would have interviewed some of the other techs like costumes and properties.
I want a big group of friends that will not only randomly burst into song, but they know the whole song, they'll finish the whole song, and they'll sound amazing. i guess i should be hanging out with more theater people.
Came as soon as I saw the notification!! You’re amazing Curt!!! I love literally everything you’ve been in!! Also this👏show👏is👏amazing👏!!! Keep up the good work president!!!❤️
The Backstreet Boys moment totally reminded me of the last show I was in. Before our class/rehearsal would start we would mess around and often times we would play music and sing along
Ngl, personally backstage is the best part of the stage lol one of the reasons is 8:33, you control how long the interval lasts. A few summers ago I was doing the light and sound for sheakspeare outdoors and sometimes the interval was 5 minutes, sometimes it was closer to 10 depending on how long it took me to finish my dinner (and when I felt at least 90% of the audience had returned from getting drinks and going to the toilet)
Whenever we had our stage manager and assistant stage manager for shows at my high school, those two also ran lights and sound so we'd have to get a random techie, who was used to building sets only, to run either lights or sound so that one of them could be back stage
Tbh I didn't think Black Friday was as good as TGWDLM... But also the sound quality on the digital ticket was GARBAGE so I'm ready for the UA-cam version!
The sound quality wasn't garbage. It's the unedited mix straight from the board. They spend months editing the video and sound for the youtube release. The idea of the digital ticket is to get it out to people as soon as possible.
i love all the backstage content we’re getting also the whole happy birthday/fathers day thing😂
As soon as Curt pans down to the Act 2 sheet of paper the screen becomes indecipherably blurry.
..Clever girl.

Natalie Cook ayyyy fellow techie!
Am I correct in assuming you're a fan of 36 Questions?
@@livhayes608 No haha I have no idea what that is
lauren on social media: my voice is so dead right now, i gotta preserve it for the show
Matt Dahan, Matt Dahan, Matt Dahan and Matthew Dahan

I would die for all the Matts
Yay, it's always nice to see appreciation of the people behind the scenes! They don't get enough love.
My favourite band member is Matt Dahan.
Watching everyone sing I Want It That Way brings me so much joy
The Hatchetfield High School Band is just made of multiple self-aware clones.
Is Angela the one singing CALIFORM.I.A? If so she has an amazing voicr!
Jeff’s hair at the beginning....smh what a princesss

I WATCHED BLACK FRIDAY THIS WEEKEND AND OH MY GOSH I HAVE NO WORDS IT WAS SO AMAZING!!! 💕💕💕
what happens?
Tell me?
Please I can’t wait any longer
Drunk cat Mama I CANT SPOILLLLL believe me it’s worth the wait!!! I want to but I can’t, it really is worth buying the online ticket if you want it
@@bingobingo1654 TGWDLM gets turned up to 11 basically
I’m tempted but I hope it comes out this Friday
@@bingobingo1654 they only filmed it last week I think... would be incredibly quick if they managed to get it out Friday.

They really didn’t have to go that hard with the harmonies in happy birthday but they did and I’m here for it

I can no longer hear that song without singing "kissy kissy kissy" because now that's burned into my brain

Ooooh the technical aspects of this show and the people behind them deserve as much credit as the others
Not only singing "I Want It That Way", but changing it and making it even better? Absolutely model behaviour
