Greetings from Canada, again, eh!! Had the pleasure of seeing Springsteen and the Seeger Session Band in Detroit back in 2006. A truly dazzling evening of folk/rock and oldies, I'm talking songs fro the 1850's oldies!!! Bruce transposed many of his compositions to fit into the theme of this band, you just witnessed a prime example. There are two albums, the studio one and the Double Album "Live in Dublin". Just some great great music, and, yes, there is an "Irish Jig" on the album, the song called "American Land". He's a genius, and I'm getting tickets for the Detroit show in March!!!!!
I hope he adds some shows west of the Rockies. I’d like to see him one last time. Have fun at the Detroit show. The energy will be off the wall I’m sure.
Never heard this before. I kept waiting for Blinded by the Light to start and like You I realized it was the song. I found myself grooving alongside, I think I liked it. The instruments were fabulous especially the horn section, especially at the end. Great reaction. Thanks Harri and Uncle Phil. Great choice. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Bruce Springsteen is one of the top 20 singer songwriters in music history, and the greatest artist of the past 50 years. This is a great song... Also, Manfred Mann had an incredible version.
@@craigaust3306 Be careful, Craig. I disagreed with *BATMAN for PRESIDENT* in another thread, and to convince me he was right and I was wrong, *he informed me that he is a music historian.* Soooo.....you've been forewarned. LOL (True story, happened just a couple days ago in my, "Kathy's Song", thread.)
@@Cosmo-Kramer But when all history has been digested, it will become clear that Batman was never presidential material, though he may have been adequate as a Vice-President to Capt. America. As for Springsteen, he would only qualify as a top 20 artist in the Best-Managed category. (Tweeners age group.)
Springsteen has always reworked his songs. Some of his big hits started out completely differently - he plays with them - changes lyrics, tunes, vibes, everything really. Atlantic City started out as a simple acoustic number on Nebraska, and is now a full band rocker. His version of Open All Night from the Dublin gig is totally different to the album version. In the 90's he reworked Born In The USA into a bluesy lament, and then later took The Ghost of Tom Joad and went all electric on it. He loves mixing it up - and we are all the better because of it.
Interesting, and very different to other versions I've heard. Love Klezmer music, so enjoyed that vibe. But the clever lyrics need a clearer diction that Springsteen didn't deliver on this occasion. Far too slurred to hear properly. So it's a MISS from me I'm afraid. (If I was on Juke Box Jury!). Interesting choice though, and always enjoy your reactions Harri..
Now this is an opinion well written without any negative energy. I’m not asking people to agree with me, just to explain why they don’t like it, other than it “sucks”.
@@unclephil7650 If you need an explanation why this utterly sucks already, then you won't mind the outright mockery of how his masters 🔯 have set the 2023 tour ticket prices.
There are really different arrangements of Bruce's songs during the Seeger Sessions Tour. I especially like the "If I Should Fall Behind" waltz-time version. ua-cam.com/video/FYlZcFuAXmI/v-deo.html
@@suemontague3151 You know, the only time I have said something was crap on a reaction channel is if the reaction itself was crap, like for instance if it was phony. If I didn’t like the song, I usually just didn’t say anything because what’s the purpose of letting somebody know that you think their taste in music is crap? I don’t get it.
He wrote it so he gets to sing it however the mood strikes.
And luckily we have the option to ignore it and listen to superior versions.
This is the first song on Bruce’s first album Greetings from Asbury Park. What a way to introduce himself to the world.
This is a terrific version.
I think it’s my favorite

Mientras mas le escucho mas me gusta como canta como interpreta es el mejor viva Bruce Springsteen
I thought we had the wrong song here for a minute. But I know the words. He sure did change it up. Loving the bass on this.
That was cool. Good reaction! 👍

He’s very talented, but far from the best artist in the last 50 years.

Never heard this version, one of the better ones of his
Sweet! Ska meets klezmer meets Springsteen! Was Madness in that house of fun???
It's got the offbeat but just doesn't do it for me. brass was made for PUNKROCK SKA AND REGGAE other wise it's just blowing a pipe
El jefe es en fuego!
When he lets the horns loose good things happen.
This was an interesting performance. It’s a great song, but my favorite version is Manfred Mann’s. They did a great cover!! 🌺✌️
What a heartwarming tribute to his masters. Oy Vey.
OK this is some racist bullshit that you’re putting out there. Go crawl back under your rock😡
Hutzpah! Yes, its Klezmer - Jewish Folk music!

I like Chris Thompson manfred Manns version way more not very often a cover sounds better but to me that's how it is

I definitely did not like this version! Since he wrote, he can do as he wants, but why? Manfrd Mann did a much better job!!
I can not stand this interpretation of Bruce’s song.
This version craps all over his studio version. The genre bending Irish traveler feel is a huge fail, imho. The original is a bop. This one is subpar.
I much prefer Manfred Mann's version
