Tbf its unrestored but the 4 walls are intact and it looks good from all sides. On a school trip were able to run about freely inside climbing up the walls and corner towers. Much prefer it like this than fully restored qith red ropes everywhere and every thing you see inside fake.
While uneven steps were used as a defensive measure, the story about staircases going clockwise to hinder an attacker is a myth... there are plenty of places they turn anti-clockwise too.

A grand castle I went there on a train a fantastic day out
Olive the music-a little history would be a nice bonus.
You see this castle from a certain vantage point in a lot of British films and TV. Now I know why. It’s just a shell of its former glory!

It's a Castle so count on me as a subscriber. Youve captured it brilliantly well done
Thank you! I do try to incorporate a castle or two on my travels 😊🏰
Impregnable!
Hello, this is wonderful. What song was used? It’s perfect!
Thanks for your kind words! The main song used is called “For Queen and Country” by Bonnie Grace
Cool footage. Editorial suggestion: Lose the irritating bagpipes.

I would NOT want to be a soldier laying siege. Way too many arrow slits for comfort.
That makes two of us! I’m sure that castle has seen its fair share of brutality back in the day
