😅 I feel you! I’ve got too much paint, too, but I couldn’t resist that set either. I wish they had replaced the Yellow Ochre with a cool red like Alizarin Crimson, or Rose Madder, or even their new Chochenille red. The Raw Umber is my favourite for painting blond hair. It’s a little more transparent and less yellow than the Ochres.
Love your watercolour so much, it turned out very pretty. I especially liked the way you painted the shirt.

Thank you so much! Okay, I am absolutely going to try the Raw Umber for hair - appreciate the suggestion! But yes, alizarin crimson (despite it's fugitive nature) is one of my absolute favorite colors so I agree.

I do want to make a note about zoos/aquariums- not all are like seaworld. Many, like the San Diego Zoo, have set THE standard for how to do animal conservation and wildlife preservation- and if the Georgia aquarium's mission is to teach / help us understand how to care for our wildlife- they should be supported. Do your research on accreditations for zoos/aquariums and go support the ones that care! I see this rhetoric a lot online and find it puzzling as ethical zoos/aquariums are some of the only educated voices our wildlife has.

      Very fair!
The Georgia Aquarium is accredited and works in research, teaching, and conservation. I just still feel bad for such a large mammal to be so far inland, but I'm sure they would release them if they felt they would handle it well.
Generally I'm pretty good about defending zoos because my local one does so much rehab/release and also breeding/releasing of endangered species. They just released a 375lb loggerhead turtle they helped 🥰
Sea World (Florida) also does rehab and release work, especially for manatees. Unfortunately not all of their animals have that freedom to be sent home 😞
So yes, you're absolutely correct and I appreciate you responding.
