She didn’t know if he won the game, he returned after the tribal vote (Day 39), although votes aren’t officially revealed until the Live Finale. Adams story in my opinion was the saddest story ever in Survivor history. He played hard when he had to play hard. Found idols when they need to be found. He played to win, and totally deserved that win!! Made his mom proud!!
One of my favorite players now... He knew how to play this game and was direct about his gameplay all the time. My favorite scenes are when he is with Jay on the hammock and tell him that he will force Jay to use the idol... Jay then tell him "I hate you!" and he replied "I know!" while smiling xD. Then his final conversation with David when he tell him directly that if he takes David to the final 3 he lose and he tell him directly that he is here for first place not third or fourth... Adam understands clearly the meta of the game and knew how to play it by being direct all the time.
Well then he played the situation well. We'll never be able to tell if he would have played any other situations perfectly as well, but he played the one presented to him better than anyone else.

My philosophy about Survivor has always been the same: whoever wins each season deserved to win each season. As much as I appreciate dialogue and debate about the merits of winners---in this case (Adam), I have to say that I find that the majority of people who believe Adam cried his way to a victory are ill-informed about the intricacies of the game. For starters, as it has been talked about extensively, there is sufficient evidence that the jury was overwhelmingly considering Adam to win before FTC. However, what I think is a key nuance of the game missed by most critics is the fact that the Jury is always bitter. Even if they are kind and supportive at FTC, their million dollar dreams were shattered between 1-15 days prior to the final vote. You bet your bottom dollar that they take their jury vote VERY SERIOUSLY, for there is no chance they can win---the only outcome they can achieve, especially if they consider themselves to be a smart player (which most people do) is to really think hard before they put pen to parchment. There is no such thing as a unanimous jury vote for a sob story (see Dawn, who didn't receive ONE vote in Survivor Caramoan!). At least one (likely many) jurors would never stand for that. Jury members use their vote as STRATEGY because it is their last mark on the game; case-in-point: in Survivor 29 (San Juan Del Sur), Reed famously gave his anti-Missy speech while praising Natalie's game as "electrifying to watch." I think it is generally accepted amongst fans that Natalie deserved to win and played a tremendous game; however, Reed chose to vote for Jaclyn in order to strip Missy of the possibility of sharing the $100,000 second-place prize. My point is that jury members have no shot at the $1 mil, but they have A VOICE, A VOTE, A STRATEGIC VOTE and they are not stupid enough to fall for a sob story. In this season, even Jessica voted for Adam!!! Jessica, who went home on (a SLIM) 1/6 rock draw, who gave her Legacy Advantage to KEN, who was pissed off at everyone left in the game who drew rocks (NOT KEN), a person who had a long-term allyship with Ken...... Jessica did not vote for Ken, but for Adam! Taylor, who tried to throw Adam under the bus at the second tribal after the merge, didn't vote for Ken or Hannah... but Adam! People who think that a sob story can fool 10/10 people whose million dollar dreams just got crushed shouldn't be commenting on the show.

Adam played such a genius game. Even announcing he was not going to steal the reward on the loved ones visit , knowing it would benefit him, was genius . He thought out every move he made so well.
I think Adam played a great game and was very deserving. In Survivor, your goal is to get to the end with people you can beat and he did that successfully. I liked Ken and Hannah but their gameplays were not as solid as Adam's
yeah you have ken whose only loyalty was with david up until f4. and then you have hannah who kept on flip flopping. honestly out of the two of them i'd still expect ken to win over hannah
Yeah but Hannah completely schooled him at some points. Adam trusted her enough to say that he had the idol and so Hannah successfully got Bret out. Really goes to show everyone down played her and disrespected her despite her ability. Just watching from home she had my vote.
he is a great winner. maybe he's not meant to win an all winners season, but he's still a kid fulfilling his childhood dream and making his mom proud. not to mention that loved ones visit. he had a chance to take it for himself but didn't.
Adam and David are single-handedly the best castaways I think Survivor has ever had. Never has Survivor in the many years I've watched it made me cry without fail than this right here.
I will say that Adam got out his biggest threats to win before FTC, so I think he deserves it! Funny how he was shown to be a loudmouth in confessionals early on but was a complete character by the end of the season.
He did grow on me seeing that he was annoying a bit in his loud confessionals and "super duper fandom" but his moves in trying to explain to Michaela and Hannah that they will be at the bottom of Millennials if they don't flip, finding the idol, and the Figgy vote out, he did grew on me as a decent player. Started with a blunder by getting Taylor with him (but apparently he does these 1-on-1's with everyone) but when the 9-person alliance broke down, he took advantage of the chaos to not get targeted. Small moves like using the idol on Hannah, to voting out Will while Bret & Sunday are still steaming with his move, to forcing Jay to use the idol, and of course to vote out David at Final 5 was crucial moves for him. Not only that, the skill to still get votes against those you sort of made quick deals (like with Sunday and Jay in voting out David) was impressive, and shows his frankness may be his good side, showing he is an active player and also that you won't feel personal if you got voted out by him.
I only feel bad that his mom had to spend the last month of her life without him cause he selfishly chose to play survivor over being with her during her final days. He's lucky she was even still alive when he got back.
Eskimo Joe Did you even pay attention? His mom WANTED him to be there and WANTED him to play the game, if he said no, it would break her heart. You shouldn’t make assumptions about people.
@@eskimojoe2151 adam said at the reunion that his mom and his family told him to go so he could give his mom something to look foward to. this wasn't just some selfish decision. it was adam playing to make his mom proud
Even tho I would've been happier with a Jay or David win, Adam played a great game and I'm happy for him bc of his story too, even if it weren't for that tho I'd think Adam would stomp goat Ken and wishy washy Hannah
This was one of the best seasons of Survivor in my opinion, so many great players, (Adam, Michaela, Jay, David, Zeke) and no real terrible players everyone were decent players and no absolute jerks. Plenty of great moments That tense tribal council where Jessica pulled the white rock, Jay stupidly backstabbing Michaela, David winning immunity, Jay and Adams relationship and of course Adam ultimately winning
I've never cried during a movie or video even if it was a horror, sad/romantic/, or if my favorite/ main character died (which hasn't happened) THIS is the only video that's made me cry.
@Peter McGill Yes but he saw a girl from South African Survivor season 6 find an idol in that exact same spot, plus it looked like Denise's idol so I think it was brilliant of him to think that they would hide idols at TC for the first time in a season as epic as this one.
@Peter McGill Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you thought it was dumb, I was just trying to say that I didn't think it was funny. (Also, I wanted so badly for it to be an idol that I was gutted that it wasn't, rather than finding it funny. But I respect your opinion.)
At first, i hated this winner. I thought that the only reason he won was because of his mom. Rewatching this changed my mind. Now i consider him one of the best winners.
@@lwandilemsiza8027 the crying was bad and I'll never know if mom dying of cancer was a ploy to win ot if it was genuine or of it was both. I know his mom did die which is super sad and I couldnt deal if it happened to me

This season was probably my favorite one that I’ve watched while it was on, I love the story between Adam and Jay, I’ve also lost my mom so perhaps that is why, but still overall one of my favorite seasons and winners
He deserves to win. I admire him its not easy doing this knowing that you're mom is sick. I was touched by this 2 gentlemen chatting in the hammock and the moment Adam told to Jay about his mom you can see they have a connection.
Seeing Adam's messy performance in Winners At War it's surprising how he actually managed to win a season at all. But he was surrounded by like-minded people in his winning season; lots of young/eager fans of the show were on that season and Adam fit in very well in that cast. Meanwhile in Winners At War he was surrounded by mature, older, more well-grounded winners and Adam was very messy, all over the place and immature compared to the other players. I still consider Adam one of my favourite winners though, I think we young fans of the show can relate to him more than any other winner.
Adam is my favorite winner ever, not because of his gameplay, which was also great.. But because i knew what he was going through, i lost my uncle to lung cancer and i was really shocked that Adam did this, but im glad he did.
Give your balls a tug wallen. Everyone’s parents die, most of us just don’t get the opportunity to cry about it on national television and win $1,000,000. 😊
Some may be a bit a bit underwhelmed about Adam's win, but I think they did their best to make the result unpredictable after the Michele Truthers debacle, and I think they did the best with it in this unpredictable season. At first he seems a bit *too* enthusiastic, but did mellow after maybe Episode 2 or 3. He did things to try and flip, and at times while it may seem he's too frank about things, seems to work for him to a degree, even if it is a bit risky (as seen backfiring a bit with Taylor). But he scrambled when he needed to scramble, talked with people trying to show why it would benefit from them, recovered from blunders, and positioned himself to where he looked like he's the one making the moves than being used.
Karel Zich I respect Michele's win enough (just had this feeling based on the show that she really didn't get the ins and outs of the situation that felt she was a bit fortunate to win, but hey...) but the way they presented was Aubry had this growth story and from what I saw, really wasn't disliked by anyone. Meanwhile, Michele was seen as weak at first in challenges and also seemingly was just a simple follower and got blindsided a lot of times. There are a lot fewer scenes that makes me root for her over Aubry. But somehow, many were predicting that Michele would win because her edit skeleton (known as Edgic) is similar to winners and that she will win, even though she didn't seem to have a winner's story. So yeah, Michele's win was OK, but it just felt unsatisfying, in which unlike Hannah we didn't see enough reasons why Aubry won't be respected during the merge, while Michele really didn't do anything compelling to show why she is the more satisfying winner (like, she said she was the one who volunteered to vote out Julia, and we didn't see that).
zjzr08 fair enough:-) you know, from a certain point I don't actually care about the edit, reading the edit, winner's edit and stuff like that so this didn't annoy me at all. it's like - I would complain about stuff like this if it was fiction, but Survivor is obviously not and there's so many things and so much dynamics we don't see.
I think the most touching part is him saying that he told his mom after show that he won. That was before votes were read but after he was off island. She died within an hour I think. She hung on long enough to know he did it
if they do a HvV2 season i don't really want to have returning winners. nothing against it but we seen it with sandra and i like to see returning players who haven't won the game
well at least he has a chance to get back in. granted it's slim compared to players like natalie whose going in with 3 advantages, but there's still a chance
@@thegraylink8269 i know, and i'm glad you think that. it's just a lot of people have been harsh on both adam and ben during winners at war, but my opinion of them is still the same

David and Jay were the stars of the season, but out of that final 3, Adam absolutely deserved to win
Thanks for making this. What a story. Great game and win. Just miss he talk with Taylor after voting out Figgy. Love Adams brutal honesty.
17:00-18:47 Is the most heartbreaking and heartwarming moment of the season if not of the whole series!
poor jay poor adam.
2:00 I completely forgot Mari from Smosh was on Survivor until now
EveryoneHasMyNames same but even though I watched this I got so offended when they voted her off
Adam played such a genius game.
He was a great winner. I don’t care what they say
he is a great winner. maybe he's not meant to win an all winners season, but he's still a kid fulfilling his childhood dream and making his mom proud. not to mention that loved ones visit. he had a chance to take it for himself but didn't.
Adam is a warrior and deserved to win
Adam and David are single-handedly the best castaways I think Survivor has ever had. Never has Survivor in the many years I've watched it made me cry without fail than this right here.
They are 2 of my least favorite players.
How lol? Adam literally had to mention his sob story and cry his way to victory. Guy is a giant pussy for that
Me: “I don’t care about watching these people read letters, get to the game!”
Adam: “She went to the ballet”
Me: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
“god why can’t it just be here, i have to keep looking” seems exactly the attitude jeff was mentioning in the beginning😂😂
Not only that, the skill to still get votes against those you sort of made quick deals (like with Sunday and Jay in voting out David) was impressive, and shows his frankness may be his good side, showing he is an active player and also that you won't feel personal if you got voted out by him.
well probably not but wonder if hannah said he also flipped if that would have gained her any votes
That moment with Jay and Adam
Is no joke the saddest moment in Survivor history
Its emotional, passionate, and just...perfect
“She went to the ballet” makes me tear up every time
I feel so bad for him for his mom. I’m glad that he won the game tho!
Biggest threats that season-
Strategic: Adam, David, Michaela , Zeke, Will
Physical: Jay, Michaela, Ken, Taylor
Social: Taylor, Jay, Figgy, Michele, Zeke.
Sun:Day
Will was good hope he returns
I'd like to believe that Jay ticked all the boxes to be a threat to Adam.
I feel really bad for Adam and Jay.
Even tho I would've been happier with a Jay or David win, Adam played a great game and I'm happy for him bc of his story too, even if it weren't for that tho I'd think Adam would stomp goat Ken and wishy washy Hannah
who would you rather see win between david and jay? i'd rather a jay win.
@@lafingscarecrow I am in love with jay now no homo I HOPE HE DESTROYS EVERYONE IN THE CHALLENGE AND WIN
I've never cried during a movie or video even if it was a horror, sad/romantic/, or if my favorite/ main character died (which hasn't happened)
THIS is the only video that's made me cry.
Jesus dude you’re a mess. Go hit the gym
I could even see Adam going further in a Survivor All Winners season, i don't know could it goes but i think he has a good chance!
Well...I guess we know the answer to this now: Middle of the pack. (But hey, he is the star of the season.)
He definitely deserved it over Ken and Hannah. One of the best winners though?
@@declaninc Like at least top 15.
The only reason he won is because his mom died. Guy is a weak man
Little did Adam know, he was going to win! Can't stop thinking of this season especially since it had Adam in it, such a happy soul, he deserved it!
Can't wait to see him on Winners At War!!
I'll probably be rooting for him, Yul, parvati, I liked Nick too idk I just cant wait
Wow so many people liked him. I was just annoyed by him and his mistakes were just too much for me...
@@lwandilemsiza8027 the crying was bad and I'll never know if mom dying of cancer was a ploy to win ot if it was genuine or of it was both. I know his mom did die which is super sad and I couldnt deal if it happened to me
@@kel-3000 the crying was adam acting like a normal human being and being scared about his mom. when your out there for 39 days and have no contact from home and one of your family members were gravely ill, you'd be doing the exact same thing as adam
This season was probably my favorite one that I’ve watched while it was on, I love the story between Adam and Jay, I’ve also lost my mom so perhaps that is why, but still overall one of my favorite seasons and winners
I just got finished this season and have never cried so much during a season of survivor..
I am so lucky... my teachers nephew was his roommate and he came today to speak with us!
He deserves to win. I admire him its not easy doing this knowing that you're mom is sick. I was touched by this 2 gentlemen chatting in the hammock and the moment Adam told to Jay about his mom you can see they have a connection.
2:36 “I wouldn’t count me out I think I can get back up to the top again”
…
“AAAAAAAGHGHHHH”
This is rough to watch. I feel so bad for him but at the same time im so happy for him
Adam won because he was the only person in the final 3 that was the least bit competent when it came to jury management
I love Adam one of the best players of this game and inspiring and heartbreaking story I love rooting for underdogs
Omg if you pause, you can read Adam's letter from home. It's really sweet, but I like how they roast him in it ahaha
Him and David were my favorite players this season
Seeing Adam's messy performance in Winners At War it's surprising how he actually managed to win a season at all. But he was surrounded by like-minded people in his winning season; lots of young/eager fans of the show were on that season and Adam fit in very well in that cast. Meanwhile in Winners At War he was surrounded by mature, older, more well-grounded winners and Adam was very messy, all over the place and immature compared to the other players.
I still consider Adam one of my favourite winners though, I think we young fans of the show can relate to him more than any other winner.
In all fairness Adam got needlessly shit on for dumb stuff in WaW
Adam is my favorite winner ever, not because of his gameplay, which was also great.. But because i knew what he was going through, i lost my uncle to lung cancer and i was really shocked that Adam did this, but im glad he did.
Adam seems like that friend who is always cautious and sober at parties but is then the only one who ends up without a fine
I started crying before the video even started playing, Adam 😭😭😭
Now I have a bit more respect for this kid. I wasn’t a huge fan of him on winners at war, but I hadn’t watched his season at all
missed the opportunity when Hannah caught him with the idol hehe.
At 20:51 there’s an editing error where Bret look over and jay behind him while Adam is talking to jay
God I love that dork.
Adam and his brother got me crying like a freaking baby
Adam's story is enough to make a grown man cry
Michele truthers? Michele's win was totally legit. both her and Aubry played a good game, each of them better at different aspects of the game.
She hung on long enough to know he did it
If they ever do HvV2 he better be one of the five male heroes.
if they do a HvV2 season i don't really want to have returning winners. nothing against it but we seen it with sandra and i like to see returning players who haven't won the game
^I agree and if they are gonna have a male hero winner I would rather it be Fabio or Mike
@@declaninc Fabio needs more recognition, same with mike
Adam and jay are the some of the purest people that played survivor.
Adam was the best survivor I always wanted him to win
The Homeless Shelter Manager can't build a shelter.
And a person criticizing can't spell correctly.
the dumb ass on the internet can't spell one sentence without editing out his mistakes
he didn't build the homeless shelter
What do you think homeless shelter manager means
I like Adam a lot. He is just funny and goofy in general. I really wish he didn’t go to edge of extinction in Season 40 Winners at War
well at least he has a chance to get back in. granted it's slim compared to players like natalie whose going in with 3 advantages, but there's still a chance
Lafing Scarecrow yeah. Or even just more strong and competitive people like Tyson, Jeremy, Boston Rob
@@nolang.1632 that's true. my point is he has a slim chance against a lot of these people but he still has a chance
Lafing Scarecrow yeah
Lafing Scarecrow man could you imagine if Tyson got back in twice!
Adam was my favourite from this season of Survivor. My second favourite was Jay, I hope they bring him back. He played such an awesome game!
bring jay and ken back for HvV2
By far the saddest loved ones visit since Brenda in Caramoan.
If you pause at 7:06 the face Adam makes is hilarious
my fave winner
1:46 Mari from Smosh Games (OGs know)
People ranking him as a winner normally: #20-33
Me ranking him just as a likeable winner: Pretty damn high
That's why i am rooting for Adam as well, because i watched his season and he did great here. Still great winner! 😊😘
i was pissed by all the hate he was getting during season 40. yeah he made mistakes but do people have to be so nasty about it?
Big brother had Steve, and survivor had adam. Super fans that knew how to play the game
I always forget Mari was in this season.
Omg we must protect Adam
Adam was a spectaclar player esp being so young. Such a worthy winner. Enjoyed watching him.
some people aren't going to agree with this but him and ben are my favorite winners
Lafing Scarecrow nothing wrong with that everyone has their own opinions
@@thegraylink8269 i know, and i'm glad you think that. it's just a lot of people have been harsh on both adam and ben during winners at war, but my opinion of them is still the same
He reminds me of Todd from China
i think adam should've played in san juan del sur with his mom. probably swap them with alec and drew and have one of them play in adam's spot in millennials vs gen x.
He played a wonderful heartfelt game
ADAM AND JAY MAKE IT SUPER SAD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
For any guy, losing their mom is their absolute worst nightmare
It has been years, I never predicted Adam will win. But my predictions were always wrong. Adam a true deserving winner. It truly broke my heart about his mom.
1:38 me whenever there's a blindside
5:08 the facial version of Tony's moaning
Jay and Adam are the best things to happen in recent seasons.
One of my favorite winners
Downloads before it's taken down
smartest move: NOT using his advantage
I was so surprised when I clicked on this video and saw Mari. I don't watch survivor but I do watch smosh.
You won for your mom i know your mom is so proud of you
My sister met that guy today.
He's got serial killer energy
he reminds me of Mat Franco from AGT. They're like twins
This is what dreams are made of.
Lol
this cold as well be a compilation of him crying.
