Cool test. I am sure the sharp corners theory is part of the difference. However in my opinion the main difference here is how close the box is to the truck. The flat nose trailer's box looks to be a little closer to the truck compared to the v-nose. In my experience this is one of the largest factors in trailer towing efficiency.
